Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the position of shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) with spiral motion V on the tensile strength and microstructure of low carbon steel. The research was conducted by welding V-coated low carbon steel with horizontal 2G, vertical 3G and overhead 4G. The test results show that the welding position does not have a significant effect on the tensile strength of low carbon steel welds, where the 3G vertical position provides a higher tensile strength value than the 2G horizontal position and 4G overhead. The microstructure of acicular ferrite (AF) in the vertical position looks dominant uniformly and tightly.

Abstract

This research is aimed to disclose fogging machine application effectiveness for improving klengkeng pingpong seed production. The effectiveness of fogging machine may be measured based on the degree of the fogging machine usage success in klengkeng pingpong nursery process, whose degree of achievement shall be higher than nursery process conducted in natural manner. The research result shows that the average degree of achievement in klengkeng  pingpong  nursery  in  way  of  seedling,  top  grafting,  bridging  or marcot, by using fogging machine is 79.26%. Meanwhile klengkeng pingpong nursery process in natural manner is approximately 40%. In return to this, it indicates that fogging machine usage on klengkeng pingpong nursery is deemed effective as it  has exceeded successful level of natural klengkeng pingpong nursery. Thus, it may eventually be applied in improving klengkeng pingpong seed production

Abstract

This study's objective is to review the consequence of the COVID-19 epidemic on physical activities, sedentary lifestyles, screen time, and changes in the nutritional status of school-age children. The outcomes of this study are intended to be applicable to obesity management in children. This study reviewed full-text articles and open-access publications on the sedentary lifestyle of children during the pandemic. and the data were analyzed using cohort, case-control, and cross-sectional designs. The results of reviewing 17 articles show that school-age children’s physical activities and nutritional status have decreased, but their sedentary lifestyle and screen time have increased due to social restrictions during the COVID-19 pandemic. Children’s decreased physical activities are caused by the absence of a comparable replacement mechanism as that before the pandemic. Meanwhile, the increasingly sedentary lifestyle highly influences children’s physical and mental health. Screen time has also increased and is unavoidable during the pandemic because children’s activities were limited and their learning systems are switched to online learning; as a result, their supporting sedentary lifestyle increases while physical activities decrease. These factors have changed the nutritional status of children during the pandemic. These results support the idea that the pandemic will impact the health of school-age children, especially their nutritional status. This review concludes that it is important to establish policies that prevent children’s further health effects, such as obesity, caused by COVID-19.

Abstract

This study explores the adaptation of statistical thinking in traditional manufacturing contexts, emphasizing its significance as a cognitive and cultural framework for improving quality, reducing process variation, and fostering data-informed decision-making. While statistical thinking has become a cornerstone in modern manufacturing systems, its integration into traditional environments—dominated by legacy processes, experiential judgment, and minimal technological infrastructure—remains limited. The purpose of this research is to analyze the current landscape of statistical awareness in such settings and to identify both enablers and barriers to its broader adoption. Employing a qualitative methodology based on an integrative literature review, this study synthesizes evidence from peer-reviewed articles, industry case studies, and theoretical frameworks published between 2000 and 2024. Thematic analysis reveals a persistent gap in statistical literacy among employees, cultural resistance among leaders, and technological limitations that impede implementation. However, emerging practices—such as contextualized training, policy interventions, and leadership-driven cultural change—offer promising pathways for sustainable integration. The findings contribute to both academic and managerial discourse by reframing statistical thinking as a holistic organizational capability rather than a technical function. This research advocates for a strategic and inclusive approach that combines education, infrastructure, and leadership to foster statistical maturity in resource-constrained manufacturing environments. In doing so, it supports long-term resilience, continuous improvement, and competitiveness in the face of global industrial transformation.
