Abstract

One reason for the lack of information regarding the economic costs of disability or death and the benefits of immunisation when children in the vicinity are not fully immunised is the discovery of signatures. Many people are confused by the terms vaccination and immunisation. Immunisation is given to neonates as soon as possible because it can avoid primary diseases through vaccination. If the baby receives the right vaccination, he will be protected from dangerous diseases such as disabilities. Basic immunisation of infants and toddlers is a routine immunisation programme as well as an additional immunisation programme to prevent communicable diseases (PD3I) such as tuberculosis, diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, polio, hepatitis B, and measles to reduce morbidity, mortality and disability in infants and children. BCG once, DPT-HB three times, Polio four times, HB Uniject once, and measles once are the basic vaccines. These vaccines must be given to all infants to prevent diseases from entering the body. The method used was analytical survey research. Exploration of how and why this phenomenon occurs is the goal of the analytical survey research approach.

Abstract

Indonesia's maternal mortality rate (MMR), at 189 per 100,000 live births, is higher than countries in Southeast Asia such as Malaysia, Brunei, Thailand and Vietnam. Indonesia's newborn mortality rate is the third highest in Southeast Asia at 9.3 per 1,000 live births. In 2022 to 2023, there was an increase in the number of maternal deaths from 4,005 to 4,129, and the number of newborn deaths from 20,882 to 29,945 (Ministry of Health, 2023). Anaemia in pregnant women can increase the risk of premature birth, maternal and child mortality, and infectious diseases. Iron deficiency anaemia in mothers can affect fetal/baby growth and development during pregnancy and afterwards. This study is a type of quantitative research using a case control design. The research that has been done shows that most respondents experienced mild anaemia 20 people (66.7%), moderate anaemia 7 people (23.3%) and who did not experience anaemia only 3 people (10%). Most of the respondents, 83.3%, did not make routine ANC visits and 83.3% also had a poor diet. There is a significant relationship between ANC visits (p=0.000), diet (p=0.002) with the incidence of anaemia in pregnant women at the Puskesmas in 2019.

The research sample was pregnant women who experienced complications and who did not experience pregnancy complications. Research results Age influences the occurrence of complications in trimester pregnancies with the results of the chi-square statistical test on maternal age, namely ρ=0.006<0.05. Parity influences the occurrence of complications in the third trimester of pregnancy with the results of the chi-square test, namely ρ=0.020<0.05. Pregnancy spacing influences the occurrence of complications in the third trimester of pregnancy using the chi-square test, namely ρ=0.018<0.05.
