Abstract

The birth ball is a physical therapy ball that helps mothers in the first stage in the progress of labor and can be used in various positions. One of the movements is sitting on the ball and rocking back and forth which makes you feel comfortable and helps progress labor by using gravity while increasing the release of endorphins because the elasticity and curvature of the ball stimulates the receptors in the pelvis which are responsible for secreting endorphins (Kurniawati, 2017). This research aims to determine the effect of using a birth ball on the progress of labor among women in the first stage of labor at the ST Fransiskus Assisi Pratama Clinic, Sei Tuan District, Deli Serdang Regency in 2024. This type of research is research using a quasi-experimental research method (quasi-experiment) with a pretest-design. posttest. The population and sample are all pregnant women from TM III Kenangan Health Center, Medan Denai District, Medan City in 2024 in May-June, as many as 32 people using the Purposive Sampling technique using the Chi Square statistical test. It was concluded that based on the results of the Chi Square test analysis, a significance value of 0.018 was obtained. Abstract

The premarital period can be linked to the preconception period, because after marriage a woman will immediately undergo the conception process. The preconception period is the period before pregnancy. The preconception period is the period of time from three months to one year before conception and ideally should include the time when the ovum and sperm are mature, which is around 100 days before conception. The nutritional status of WUS or premarital women for three to six months during the preconception period will determine the condition of the baby born. The prerequisites for perfect nutrition during the preconception period are the key to the birth of a normal and healthy baby. Marriage is one of the steps that must be taken to build a harmonious family. To take this step, all preparations are needed to form a harmonious family. The goal after carrying out the activity is to hope that catin will be exposed to health material regarding pre-wedding preparation and pre-marital screening. KIE community service activities for catin preparation and premarital screening have been carried out in the form of counseling, providing information and education regarding catin preparation and premarital screening. With a commitment to providing KIE catin and program sustainability will be carried out by KUA Medan Johor. It is hoped that this activity will not end in service activities, but with the media leaflet it can be used as a policy for the relevant agencies to develop it in the form of an application as a course method for catin in the health sector so that KUAs in other areas can utilize the application in implementing courses for catin, especially in the field of health.

Abstract

Exclusive breastfeeding in Indonesia has an achievement of 66.06% according to the Ministry of Health's 2020 research. For North Sumatra, it is 53% and exclusive breastfeeding coverage in Medan city is still low with the 9th lowest or 30.41% and IMD coverage in Medan city is 22.19%. The cause of low exclusive breastfeeding is low milk production, especially in the first day after childbirth, due to the lack of stimulation to increase oxytocin and prolactin hormones. Nonpharmacological efforts, namely oxytocin massage, can help smooth breast milk. This study aims to analyse the effect of oxytocin massage on breast milk fluency in multiparous postpartum mothers in the Medan Johor Health Centre working area in 2022. This study used quantitative research, with a Quasi Experiment research design with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design approach. Sampling technique with purpose sampling with 12 respondents for the control group and 12 respondents for the experimental group. The results of the Wilcoxon test with a p value of 0.002 showed that the p value < α (0.005) stated that there was an effect of oxytocin massage on the smoothness of breast milk in multiparous postpartum women in the Medan Johor Health Centre working area in 2022.

Abstract

Abstract

The results of the Population Census data carried out in 2020 showed that the maternal mortality rate reached 189 per 100 thousand live births. And based on these figures, Indonesia is ranked second highest in ASEAN, which is further than other countries such as Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam and Brunei, which have achievements below 100 per 100 thousand live births. The maternal mortality rate is one of the important programs for the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) to pay attention to. Therefore, through this, the Ministry of Health carries out a care program from before pregnancy, pregnancy, childbirth, babies. And a number of cases of pregnant women giving birth include anemia 48.9%, hypertension 12.7%, KEK 17.3% and complications as much as 28%. The impact of childbirth on maternal mortality is also something that cannot be separated from the occurrence of maternal death. As a health worker with high integrity, it is very necessary to implement Mother and Baby Care. Indicators of quality service are in the process of pregnancy care, postpartum delivery carried out by health workers to the mother. One of them is carried out in the delivery process by explaining to the mother the technique of pushing when the opening is complete or 10cm. Do not do forced pushing (Valsalva) or tell the mother to push forcibly before it is certain that the opening is complete. This is one of the strict prohibitions conveyed by Bergastrom in his book. The process of delivering a baby can generally cause tears in the vagina and perineum. So when leading pushing in a mother in labor, it is necessary to do so as not to cause irregular tears in the birth canal. However, the process of delivering a baby through the birth canal or through normal delivery requires deliberate tearing to widen the birth canal. However, for further action, it is necessary to do hecting or stitches on the episiotomy wound which aims to restore the original shape of the perineal incision scar and stop bleeding as well as healing.

Abstract

One of the indicators based on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 2030) is to support welfare and ensure a healthy life for all at all ages with the most important point being to reduce maternal mortality to less than 70 per 100,000 live births and prevent neonatal and toddler mortality rates of at least 12 per 1000 live births and 25 per 1000 live births in toddlers. A study was conducted to determine the effect of giving red guava juice on changes in hemoglobin levels in pregnant women in the third trimester at PMB Debby Deliserdang in 2022. In this study, the sample used was all pregnant women in the third trimester in March to May 2022, totaling 12 people. The study showed that in the intervention group before giving red guava juice, the majority had moderate anemia with a frequency of 8 respondents (66.7%) and a minority were normal with a frequency of 1 respondent (8.3%). Meanwhile, after giving red guava juice, the majority were normal with a frequency of 7 respondents (53.8%) and a minority of moderate anemia as much as 1 respondent (8.3%). The results of the analysis test in this study using Mann Whithney showed a P-Value of 0.022 (P <0.05), namely that there is an effect of giving red guava juice on increasing hemoglobin in pregnant women in the second trimester. Pregnant women, especially pregnant women who experience anemia, are expected to routinely consume red guava juice because if consumed properly, red guava juice has many benefits, especially for pregnant women so that it can meet the nutritional needs required by the body and can maximize iron absorption.

Abstract

Every baby is expected to receive five complete basic immunizations. Complete basic immunization coverage is the percentage of babies aged 0-11 months who have received five complete basic immunizations according to the number and time of basic immunization. This study aims to find the relationship between husband's support as an independent variable and the mother's attitude in infant immunization as a dependent variable, each of which data is collected at the same time. The sample in this study were 45 babies registered at the Gebang Health Center, Langkat Regency for May to July 2021, with the research sample method being total sampling. This research was conducted at the Gebang Health Center, Langkat Regency. From the results of the study, there is a significant relationship between husband's support and the mother's attitude in providing infant immunization in the Gebang Health Center work area, Jl.Jendral Sudirman No.104 Langkat. The correlation strength (r) is 0.730, indicating the relationship between the two variables in the strong degree category. The direction of the positive correlation (+) indicates that the greater the husband's support, the more positive the mother's attitude in providing infant immunization. The results and discussion of the study are expected to be a reference for nursing students in: Conducting further research on factors that can influence mothers' attitudes in providing infant immunization.

Abstract

The nation's ideals to pay attention to the number of children with Disaster Families are the paradigm of the National Family Planning Family Planning Program which in 2015 had become a Quality Family Program. The type of research in this study is an analytical observational study using case control stimuli which is used to study the extent to which risk factors influence the occurrence of an effect. This research uses a retrospective approach, by identifying causal factors in past events. The sample to be used in this study was 35 mothers who visited the Ely Midwife Clinic and participated in the 3-month injection family planning program from January to April 2022. Acceptors of 3-month injection family planning are at greater risk of experiencing greater weight gain than non-acceptors of 3-month injection family planning, so that 3-month injection family planning has a greater influence than non-acceptors of 3-month injection family planning. 3-month injection contraception is not the main factor causing weight gain, as shown by the results of the Cochran & Mantel Haenszel significance test, the results obtained were X2 count (2.089) < X2 Table (3.841) or p (0.148) > α (0.050) and CI (0.872; 6.118). The benefits of this study can be used as a consideration for further research. Through a larger number of respondents and the number of variables, such as age, food intake, lifestyle, activity, and others. Midwives and other health workers can provide counseling about the side effects of 3-month injection contraception so that there is no concern from the acceptors of the contraception.
