Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa SMK ditinjau dari gaya kognitif field dependent dan field independent. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu penelitian kualitatif. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari dua orang siswa kelas XI SMK Negeri 1 Bintan Timur, yaitu satu siswa dengan gaya kognitif field dependent dan satu siswa dengan gaya kognitif field independent yang memiliki kemampuan representasi matematis yang tinggi. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yakni tes GEFT, tes kemampuan representasi matematis, dan wawancara. Analisis data pada penelitian ini meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Keabsahan data yang digunakan pada penelitian yaitu triangulasi teknik dengan membandingkan hasil tes kemampuan representasi matematis dan hasil wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa dengan gaya kognitif field dependent cenderung menggunakan bentuk representasi visual dan persamaan. Sedangkan siswa dengan gaya kognitif field independent dapat menggunakan tiga representasi matematis yaitu visual, persamaan atau ekspresi matematis, dan kata-kata atau kalimat.

Abstract

Abstrak Pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru MGMP Matematika SMP di Kabupaten Bintan dalam mengembangkan media pembelajaran berbasis aplikasi digital dengan konteks kemaritiman. Sebanyak 45 peserta terlibat, mewakili MGMP dari berbagai SMP/MTs di Kabupaten Bintan. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi ceramah, diskusi, demonstrasi, dan tugas terbimbing. Materi pelatihan mencakup pemanfaatan teknologi informasi dalam pembelajaran, desain media menggunakan Canva, serta pembuatan media berbasis aplikasi dengan Smart Apps Creator (SAC).  Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa 30% peserta sangat mampu dan 70% mampu menggunakan Canva, sedangkan 16% sangat mampu dan 84% mampu menggunakan SAC. Selain itu, 17% peserta sangat mampu dan 83% mampu mengintegrasikan konteks kemaritiman dalam media pembelajaran. Pelatihan ini memberikan manfaat signifikan, seperti meningkatkan wawasan dan keterampilan guru dalam membuat media pembelajaran interaktif yang relevan dengan konteks lokal. Kesimpulannya, pelatihan berhasil mendukung pengembangan kompetensi guru dalam menyusun media pembelajaran berbasis digital yang efektif dan bermakna, meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa melalui pengaitan materi dengan kearifan lokal.  Kata Kunci: kompetensi; media pembelajaran; digital; kemaritiman; MGMP matematika.   Abstract This training aimed to enhance the competence of MGMP Mathematics teachers at junior high schools in Bintan Regency in developing application-based digital learning media with a maritime context. A total of 45 participants from various junior high schools and Islamic junior high schools (SMP/MTs) in Bintan Regency took part. The methods employed included lectures, discussions, demonstrations, and guided assignments. Training materials covered the use of information technology in teaching, designing media with Canva, and developing application-based media using Smart Apps Creator (SAC).  The evaluation results revealed that 30% of participants were highly proficient and 70% were proficient in using Canva, while 16% were highly proficient and 84% were proficient in using SAC. Additionally, 17% of participants were highly proficient and 83% were proficient in integrating maritime context into learning media. This training significantly benefited the participants by improving their knowledge and skills in creating interactive learning media relevant to local contexts. In conclusion, the training successfully supported the development of teachers' competence in designing effective and meaningful digital learning media, fostering students' motivation by integrating subject matter with local maritime wisdom.  Keywords: competence; learning media; digital; maritime; MGMP mathematics

Abstract

Abstrak Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini dilatarbelakangi oleh temuan permasalahan mitra berkaitan dengan implementasi pembelajaran sesuai Kurikulum Merdeka. Implementasi pembelajaran terdiferensiasi di SMP Negeri 17 Bintan belum didukung oleh bahan ajar yang menyesuaikan kebutuhan belajar peserta didik. Pada umumnya guru masih mengalami kesulitan merancang bahan ajar pembelajaran berdiferensiasi yang menyesuaikan kebutuhan peserta didik. Kendala utama guru ialah masih belum memiliki pemahaman yang baik terkait strategi merancang bahan ajar yang disesuaikan dengan hasil diagnostik kebutuhan belajar peserta didik. Alasan lain ialah kurangnya penguasaan teknologi dapat mengembangkan media pembelajaran digital. Oleh karena itu, pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan guru dalam mengembangkan media pembelajaran yang dapat digunakan untuk mendukung efektivitas pembelajaran berdiferensiasi di kelas. Metode PKM ini terdiri dari sosialisasi, pelatihan, penerapan teknologi dan evaluasi media pembelajaran digital hasil karya guru. Hasil evaluasi PKM menunjukkan adanya peningkatan yang signifikan pada pemahaman peserta dalam merancang bahan ajar terdiferensiasi, dan peningkatan keterampilan menggunakan teknologi Canva, Powtoon, dan Smart Apss Creator untuk mendesain media pembelajaran digital. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi dapat disimpulkan bahwa kegiatan PKM berhasil meningkatkan keterampilan guru mendesain media pembelajaran digital terdiferensiasi sesuai kebutuhan belajar peserta didik. Kata kunci: media pembelajaran digital; pembelajaran berdiferensiasi,;canva; powtoon; smart apps creator. Abstract The community service project is motivated by the findings of issues faced by partners regarding the implementation of learning in accordance with the Merdeka Curriculum. The differentiated learning implementation at SMP Negeri 17 Bintan has not been supported by teaching materials that align with the learning needs of students. Initial studies revealed that teachers generally still struggle to design differentiated learning materials that meet student needs. The main challenge for teachers is their lack of understanding regarding strategies for designing teaching materials tailored to diagnostic assessments of students' learning needs. Another reason is the insufficient mastery of technology to develop digital learning media. Therefore, this training aims to enhance teachers' understanding and skills in developing learning media that can be used to support the effectiveness of differentiated learning in the classroom. The methods used in this community service program include socialization, training activities, guided assignments, and evaluation of the digital learning media created by teachers. Evaluation results show a significant improvement in participants' understanding of designing differentiated teaching materials and an increase in skills using technology like Canva, Powtoon, and Smart Apps Creator for designing digital learning media. This activity is expected to positively impact the quality of learning at SMP Negeri 17 Bintan. Keywords: digital learning media; differenciated learning; canva; powtoon; smart apps creator.

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the mathematical literacy of Grade VIII junior high school students based on their learning styles, as categorized by David Kolb. A qualitative approach with a descriptive research design was employed. The sample consisted of eight students, with two students representing each of the four learning styles: accommodating, assimilating, converging, and diverging. Data were collected through questionnaires, tests, and interviews. The research instruments included the Kolb Learning Style Inventory (KLSI), a mathematical literacy ability test, and an interview guide. Data analysis involved data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results revealed that students with accommodating and assimilating learning styles demonstrated proficiency in all three mathematical literacy indicators—formulate, employ, and interpret/evaluate—whereas students with a converging learning style met only two indicators (formulate and employ). In contrast, students with a diverging learning style fulfilled only one indicator (formulate). These findings suggest that students with accommodating and assimilating learning styles exhibited superior mathematical literacy skills compared to those with converging and diverging learning styles. This study contributes to the understanding of how different learning styles influence students' mathematical literacy and provides insights for educators to develop more effective teaching strategies tailored to diverse learning preferences.

Abstract

Mathematical representation ability is a critical competency that students must possess to understand and solve mathematical problems, particularly in quadratic functions. This study aims to describe students’ mathematical representation abilities based on their level of self-efficacy. A descriptive qualitative approach was used with six tenth-grade students selected based on their self-efficacy questionnaire results, consisting of two students each from high, medium, and low self-efficacy categories. The research instruments included a self-efficacy questionnaire, a mathematical representation test, and a semi-structured interview guide. The results revealed that students with high self-efficacy were able to fulfill all indicators of mathematical representation—symbolic, verbal, and visual—comprehensively and accurately. Students with medium self-efficacy could meet the three indicators, but with some errors in symbolic representation. In contrast, students with low self-efficacy mostly showed verbal representation ability and encountered difficulties in understanding and converting between visual and symbolic forms. These findings suggest a positive correlation between students’ self-efficacy levels and the quality and completeness of their mathematical representations. Thus, efforts to enhance students' self-efficacy should be considered an essential part of mathematics instruction.

Abstract

Keberagaman kesiapan belajar siswa, khususnya dalam aspek kognitif, menjadi tantangan dalam menciptakan pembelajaran yang efektif.. Kurikulum Merdeka telah mendorong pembelajaran berdiferensiasi, namun ditemukan bahwa ketersediaan bahan ajar yang dapat mengakomodasi perbedaan kesiapan belajar siswa masih terbatas. Sehingga, menyebabkan proses pembelajaran kurang optimal karena materi yang disampaikan belum mampu menjangkau keragaman kebutuhan belajar siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan E-LKPD berdiferensiasi pada materi kekongruenan dan kesebangunan untuk siswa kelas VIII yang valid, praktis, dan efektif menggunakan model 4D. E-LKPD yang dikembangkan bersifat interaktif dilengkapi dengan latihan soal berumpan balik langsung dan materi bertingkat sesuai kesiapan belajar siswa, mendukung pembelajaran fleksibel dan mandiri. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui angket validitas ahli (media, materi, bahasa), angket kepraktisan guru dan siswa, serta tes hasil belajar. Data dianalisis secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif. E-LKPD pembelajaran berdiferensiasi yang dikembangkan memperoleh nilai validasi sebesar 96% yang menunjukkan bahwa secara substansi, desain, dan bahasa, E-LKPD telah memenuhi standar kelayakan sebagai bahan ajar digital yang mendukung pembelajaran diferensiasi. Kepraktisan E-LKPD terlihat dari respon guru (98%) dan siswa (85%), yang menunjukkan bahwa E-LKPD mudah diakses dan dipahami oleh pengguna serta mampu menjadi alat bantu yang mendukung efektivitas pembelajaran berdiferensiasi di kelas. Keefektifan produk tercermin dari 77% siswa yang mencapai ketuntasan belajar minimal, yang menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan pembelajaran berdiferensiasi dalam E-LKPD berhasil mengakomodasi keberagaman kesiapan belajar siswa. Temuan ini memperkuat bahwa E-LKPD mendukung pembelajaran adaptif dan berpotensi meningkatkan kualitas proses serta hasil belajar.

Abstract

The community service activity conducted in Toapaya Selatan aimed to introduce an innovative planting and fertilizer applicator tool based on PVC pipes as an appropriate technology. This program was motivated by the persistence of manual farming practices that require excessive labor, time, and costs, while often resulting in uneven fertilizer distribution that reduces crop productivity. The implementation method adopted a participatory approach, consisting of preparation, counseling, demonstrations, field practice, and evaluation involving local farmers. Training sessions included hands-on practice to ensure that participants not only understood the theoretical aspects but also acquired practical skills in using and assembling the tool. The results indicate that the application of the pipe-based tool improved labor efficiency, reduced fertilization time, and enhanced the uniformity of fertilizer distribution on plantation land. These improvements were directly reflected in better crop maintenance and more sustainable use of resources. Farmers’ high enthusiasm and active participation demonstrated the success of this simple yet impactful technology transfer. Nevertheless, several challenges were encountered, including limited technical understanding among some participants, difficulties in replicating the tool independently, and restricted availability of tool-making materials in the local market. Overall, this innovation has the potential to contribute significantly to increasing local agricultural productivity. Further training, continuous mentoring, and institutional as well as financial support from the village government are strongly recommended to ensure the sustainability, scalability, and long-term adoption of this appropriate technology.

Abstract

Plastic waste pollution has become an increasingly complex environmental challenge, especially in coastal areas and islands such as the Riau Islands Province. South Toapaya Village, located in Bintan Regency, faces serious problems related to waste accumulation, especially plastic, originating from household activities and waste flows from surrounding areas. This situation is exacerbated by a waste management system that is still limited, fragmented, and not yet fully sustainable. This article explores the potential of ecobricks as an innovative community-based approach to address this pressing issue. Ecobrick plastic bottles filled with clean, dry inorganic waste offer a simple yet effective strategy to reduce waste while producing modular building materials. The main focus of this study is the application of ecobricks in the construction of village landmark monuments, which are expected to become symbolic markers of local identity. This approach not only offers a technical solution to plastic pollution but also serves as a means to strengthen cultural identity and encourage collective community participation. The success of this initiative depends on continuous education, intensive socialization, and cross-sector collaboration. In this way, the project is expected to generate ecological and social benefits simultaneously, contributing to sustainable rural development in the region.

Abstract

Kemampuan berpikir geometri seorang guru menurut Van Hiele berpengaruh signifikan terhadap keberhasilan peserta didik dalam belajar. Kemampuan berpikir geometri mahasiswa calon guru perlu diketahui sejak dini agar upaya perbaikan dapat dilakukan sejak dini pula. Penelitian ini menerapkan pendekatan kualitatif yang bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan berpikir geometri mahasiswa calon guru di Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika UMRAH. Penelitian ini dilakukan terhadap 40 mahasiswa Semester 1 di Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika UMRAH, 3 (tiga) orang diantaranya dipilih sebagai subjek untuk diwawancarai. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik tes dan wawancara. Data yang dikumpulkan kemudian dianalis menggunakan teknik analisis kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan 92,5% mahasiswa calon guru yang diteliti memiliki tingkat kemampuan berpikir geometri Level 2 (analisis), 5% mencapai Level 3 (Deduksi Informal), dan sisanya baru mencapai Level 1 (Visualisasi). Pada level 2, mahasiswa calon guru sudah dapat membedakan pasangan segitiga sebangun, menjelaskan sifat-sifat kesebangunan pada segitiga, dapat mengidentifikasi dan menjelaskan hubungan sudut-sudut dan sisi-sisi bersesuaian pada segitiga sebangun. Namun, mereka gagal dalam menganalisa informasi yang kompleks, dan mengidentifikasi koneksi berbagai informasi relevan yang krusial untuk mencapai kemampuan berpikir geometri Level 3. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan berpikir geometri mahasiswa calon guru di Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika UMRAH masih berada di bawah level yang diharapkan pada peserta didik di Pendidikan Tinggi yaitu Level 4.Abstract The teachers geometric thinking ability according to Van Hiele has a significant effect on students' success in learning geometry. The geometric thinking abilities of preservice teachers need to be identified early so that early interventions can be made. This research uses a qualitative approach which aims to analyze the geometric thinking abilities of preservice teachers studying at the UMRAH Mathematics Education Department in the first semester. This research was conducted on 40 preservice teachers, and three of them were selected as research subjects to be interviewed. Data collection techniques include tests and interviews. The collected data were then analyzed using qualitative analysis techniques. The results show that 92.5% of the preservice teachers examined have a geometric thinking ability at Level 2, 5% at Level 3 (Informal Deduction), and rest only reached Level 1 (Visualization). At Level 2, preservice teachers can distinguish similar triangles, explain the properties of similarity in triangles, and identify and explain the corresponding angles and sides in similar triangles. However, they encounter difficulties in analyzing complex information and identifying connections among various pieces of information crucial for verifying similarity in triangles. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the geometric thinking abilities of preservicee teacher in the UMRAH Mathematics Education Study Program are still below the level expected for students in higher education, namely Level 4.

Abstract

Kurangnya pemahaman konsep teorema phytagoras dapat diatasi dengan video pembelajaran interaktif. Oleh sebab itu, perlu dikembangkannya video pembelajaran interaktif dengan konteks kemaritiman pada materi teorema phytagoras yang valid, praktis, dan efektif. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development dengan menerapkan model ADDIE yang terdiri dari analyze, design, development, implementation, dan evaluation. Video pembelajaran dinyatakan valid setelah di uji kevalidan kepada ahli media, ahli materi, dan ahli bahasa dengan meperoleh nilai kevalidan 92,75% dengan kriteria sangat valid. Uji kepraktisan dinyatakan praktis oleh pendidik dan peserta didik dengan memperoleh nilai kepraktisan 88,93% dengan kriteria sangat praktis. Serta, video pembelajaran ini efektif digunakan saat proses pembelajaran berlangsung.
