Abstract

AbstrakKegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan meningkatkan kemampuan santri di MA Plus Nurul Islam Sekarbela dalam mengidentifikasi dan melawan hoax melalui pelatihan literasi digital. Dengan metode campuran, pelatihan melibatkan 55 santri kelas 3 Madrasah Aliyah dan menggunakan survei pre-test dan post-test serta wawancara dan observasi. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam literasi digital, dari skor rata-rata 55,3 menjadi 78,5 (p < 0,01). Santri merasa lebih mampu memverifikasi informasi dan sadar akan bahaya hoax. Temuan mendukung teori literasi digital dan pembelajaran konstruktivis, serta menekankan pentingnya integrasi literasi digital ke dalam kurikulum, peningkatan fasilitas teknologi, dan kolaborasi dengan pemangku kepentingan untuk keberlanjutan program.  Kata kunci: literasi digital; hoax; santri; pengabdian. AbstractThe community service aims to enhance the ability of students at MA Plus Nurul Islam Sekarbela to identify and combat hoaxes through digital literacy training. Using a mixed-methods approach, the training involved 55 third-grade Madrasah Aliyah students and utilized pre-test and post-test surveys, as well as interviews and observations. The results showed a significant increase in digital literacy, with average scores rising from 55.3 to 78.5 (p < 0.01). The students felt more capable of verifying information and were more aware of the dangers of hoaxes. The findings support digital literacy and constructivist learning theories, emphasizing the importance of integrating digital literacy into the curriculum, improving technological facilities, and collaborating with stakeholders for program sustainability. Keywords: digital literacy; hoax; education; students; community service.

Abstract

Abstrak Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi bahasa Inggris anggota Kelompok Sadar Wisata (Pokdarwis) Sejahtera di Desa Medana, Kabupaten Lombok Utara. Kegiatan ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya penguasaan bahasa Inggris fungsional anggota Pokdarwis dalam melayani wisatawan asing. Untuk mengatasi hal tersebut, tim pelaksana merancang pelatihan bahasa Inggris berbasis e-learning dengan pendekatan komunikatif yang kontekstual dan praktis. Pelatihan dilakukan dalam tiga tahap, yaitu persiapan, pelaksanaan, serta monitoring dan evaluasi. Tahap persiapan meliputi observasi kebutuhan dan penyusunan modul pembelajaran. Tahap pelaksanaan dilakukan dengan metode blended learning melalui sesi tatap muka dan daring menggunakan Google Classroom dan WhatsApp. Peserta dilibatkan secara aktif dalam kegiatan simulasi, diskusi, dan praktik langsung. Evaluasi program dilakukan melalui penyebaran kuesioner Likert kepada seluruh peserta. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan ini efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan bahasa Inggris peserta, terutama dalam konteks pariwisata. Selain itu, pelatihan juga meningkatkan motivasi peserta untuk terus belajar secara mandiri. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan bahasa Inggris berbasis e-learning dapat menjadi alternatif solusi pembelajaran di daerah wisata pedesaan. Kata kunci: pengabdian kepada masyarakat; bahasa inggris; pokdarwis; e-learning; pembelajaran kontekstual; pariwisata. Abstract This community service activity aims to improve the English communication skills of members of the Sejahtera Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis) in Medana Village, North Lombok Regency. This activity was motivated by the low level of functional English proficiency among Pokdarwis members in serving foreign tourists. To address this issue, the implementation team designed an e-learning-based English language training program using a communicative, contextual, and practical approach. The training was conducted in three phases: preparation, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation. The preparation phase involved needs assessment and the development of learning modules. The implementation phase was carried out using a blended learning method, combining face-to-face sessions and online sessions via Google Classroom and WhatsApp. Participants were actively involved in simulations, discussions, and hands-on practice. Program evaluation was conducted through the distribution of Likert questionnaires to all participants. Evaluation results indicated that the training was effective in improving participants' English language skills, particularly in the context of tourism. Additionally, the training enhanced participants' motivation to continue learning independently. These findings suggest that e-learning-based English language training can serve as an alternative solution for education in rural tourist areas. Keywords: community service; english language; pokdarwis; e-learning; contextual learning; tourism

Abstract

Abstrak Penulisan artikel ilmiah merupakan keterampilan esensial bagi mahasiswa yang perlu dikembangkan secara sistematis. Pengabdian Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas pelatihan berbasis Artificial Intelligence (AI) dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menulis artikel ilmiah mahasiswa. Pelatihan ini dilaksanakan secara intensif selama satu hari dengan metode penyampaian materi dan tutorial, yang kemudian diikuti dengan pendampingan dan kerja mandiri selama satu bulan. Dalam masa pendampingan, peserta diberikan kesempatan untuk melakukan revisi, konsultasi, dan submisi artikel ilmiah ke jurnal nasional terakreditasi SINTA 2-4. Analisis terhadap tanggapan peserta menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas aspek pelatihan, seperti pemanfaatan AI dalam menemukan topik penelitian, menyusun bagian artikel ilmiah, serta pembuatan tabel dan bagan, mendapatkan penilaian sangat baik. Hasil pengabdian masyarakat ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan AI secara signifikan berkontribusi dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menulis akademik mahasiswa. Keberhasilan pelatihan ini dibuktikan dengan jumlah artikel ilmiah yang dihasilkan, yakni sebanyak 25 artikel yang siap dipublikasikan. Dengan demikian, AI terbukti menjadi alat bantu yang efektif dalam meningkatkan produktivitas dan kualitas publikasi ilmiah mahasiswa. Kata kunci: artificial intelligence; artikel ilmiah; keterampilan menulis; pelatihan; publikasi ilmiah.  Abstract Writing scientific articles is an essential skill for students that needs to be developed systematically. This community service aims to analyze the effectiveness of Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based training in improving students' scientific article writing skills. This training is carried out intensively for one day with material delivery and tutorial methods, which are then followed by mentoring and independent work for one month. During the mentoring period, participants were given the opportunity to revise, consult, and submit scientific articles to SINTA 2-4 accredited national journals. Analysis of participants' responses showed that the majority of training aspects, such as the use of AI in finding research topics, compiling sections of scientific articles, and making tables and charts, received very good ratings. The results of this community service show that the use of AI significantly contributes to improving students' academic writing skills. The success of this training is evidenced by the number of scientific articles produced, namely 25 articles that are ready to be published. Thus, AI is proven to be an effective tool in increasing the productivity and quality of student scientific publications. Keywords: artificial intelligence; scientific articles; scientific publication training; writing skills

Abstract

This study explores the challenges students face in academic writing and identifies effective techniques that can help overcome these problems The research background shows that academic writing skills are essential for students and researchers but many face difficulties in organising ideas following writing guidelines and structuring arguments logically Using a qualitative approach this study applied systematic literature review SLR to collect data from in depth interviews and observations of students and researchers The results showed that good planning clear language use and peer feedback significantly improved the quality of writing In addition techniques such as mind mapping and the use of writing aids were also shown to support a more systematic writing process This study fills a gap in the literature by highlighting the lack of integration of various academic writing techniques and the influence of external factors such as social support and stress levels on the effectiveness of these techniques The findings are expected to provide guidance for academic writers in selecting techniques appropriate to the challenges faced and provide insights for educators in supporting the development of students writing skills < p>

Abstract

This study investigates the factors affecting grammar mastery among English language students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Mataram using a descriptive qualitative approach. It involves 25 first-semester students who participated in grammar tests, with data analysed through the Miles and Huberman model: data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings highlight several significant challenges. First, the dominance of theoretical teaching methods without adequate practical application makes grammar learning difficult for students. Students often memorize rules but struggle to apply them in real contexts. Second, the lack of opportunities to practice speaking English limits students’ ability to internalize grammatical structures, reducing their confidence and fluency. Although English exposure through media is frequent, it is generally passive such as listening to songs or watching movies without interactive engagement. Third, students face challenges in understanding English vocabulary, particularly idiomatic expressions and cultural references, which are often absent from local linguistic environments. These unfamiliar elements create confusion and hinder comprehension. The study suggests that grammar instruction should be more communicative, include cultural integration, and provide active learning opportunities to enhance grammar mastery. These findings offer valuable insights for improving English grammar teaching strategies in similar EFL contexts.

Abstract

This study investigates the relationship between grammar awareness and academic writing proficiency among undergraduate EFL students in the digital learning era. Although previous studies have highlighted the importance of grammar awareness in writing, limited research has examined its direct relationship with actual academic writing performance using both metacognitive measures and authentic writing tasks in digital learning contexts. The participants were 50 students from the third and fifth semesters of the English Education Department at Universitas Muhammadiyah Mataram. Grammar awareness was measured using an 18-item Grammar Awareness Questionnaire (GAQ), while academic writing proficiency was assessed through an analytical essay-writing test. Descriptive statistics indicated moderate grammar awareness (M = 42.36) and high academic writing proficiency (M = 85.00). Normality tests confirmed that the data were suitable for parametric analysis. Pearson correlation analysis revealed a very weak and non-significant relationship between grammar awareness and writing proficiency (r = .033, p = .818). Furthermore, simple linear regression analysis showed minimal predictive power of grammar awareness on writing performance (R² = .001). These findings suggest that academic writing proficiency is more likely influenced by other factors, such as vocabulary knowledge, writing strategies, topic familiarity, and academic engagement, rather than grammar awareness alone. Therefore, integrating grammar instruction with explicit writing strategy training is recommended in digital learning environments.

Abstract

ABSTRAKKegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi pedagogik digital guru dan keterampilan literasi siswa melalui pemanfaatan media digital dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia. Adapun mitra dalam program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah guru-guru SDN 2 Jatisela yang berjumlah 12 orang dan siswa kelas 5 yang berjumlah 32 orang. PKM ini dilaksanakan selama 3 hari pada tanggal 7-9 Mei 2026. Metode pelaksanaan menggunakan pendekatan partisipatif melalui tahapan sosialisasi, pelatihan, implementasi, pendampingan, dan evaluasi. Pada tahap sosialisasi dilakukan melalui koordinasi dengan kepala sekolah dan guru SDN 2 Jatisela untuk menyamakan persepsi terkait tujuan, manfaat, dan mekanisme kegiatan. Tahap pelatihan menggunakan model workshop berbasis praktik (learning by doing). Sementara itu, pada tahap implementasi guru mengiimplementasi modul ajar digital di kelas. Tim mendampingi guru dalam penggunaan media digital saat pembelajaran menyimak, membaca, menulis, dan berbicara, pelaksanaan proyek literasi digital siswa. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui pre-test dan post-test sederhana kompetensi digital guru, analisis peningkatan partisipasi siswa, dokumentasi karya siswa, dan kuesioner kepuasan mitra. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan pada kompetensi guru dalam merancang dan mengimplementasikan pembelajaran berbasis digital dengan capaian sekitar 83,33% guru mampu menyusun dan menerapkan modul ajar digital. Selain itu, sekitar 87,5% siswa kelas tinggi berhasil menghasilkan karya literasi digital, seperti cerita digital dan presentasi sederhana. Pembelajaran menjadi lebih interaktif, kontekstual, dan berpusat pada siswa. Program ini juga berhasil mengoptimalkan pemanfaatan fasilitas digital sekolah serta membangun repositori media pembelajaran. Dengan demikian, kegiatan ini memberikan kontribusi nyata terhadap peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia serta penguatan literasi digital di sekolah dasar.Kata kunci: Pembelajaran Digital; Literasi Digital; Bahasa Indonesia; Sekolah Dasar. ABSTRACTThis community service activity aims to enhance teachers’ digital pedagogical competencies and students’ literacy skills through the use of digital media in Indonesian language instruction. The partners in this community service program are 12 teachers from SDN 2 Jatisela and 32 fifth-grade students. This community service program was conducted over three days from May 7–9, 2026. The implementation method used a participatory approach through the stages of socialization, training, implementation, mentoring, and evaluation. The socialization stage was carried out through coordination with the principal and teachers of SDN 2 Jatisela to align perceptions regarding the objectives, benefits, and mechanisms of the activity. The training stage utilized a practice-based workshop model (learning by doing). Meanwhile, during the implementation stage, teachers applied digital learning modules in the classroom. The team provided guidance to teachers on the use of digital media during lessons on listening, reading, writing, and speaking, as well as the implementation of student digital literacy projects. The evaluation was conducted through simple pre- and post-tests of teachers’ digital competencies, an analysis of increases in student participation, documentation of student work, and a partner satisfaction questionnaire. The results of the activity showed a significant improvement in teachers’ competencies in designing and implementing digital-based learning, with approximately 83,33% of teachers able to develop and implement digital teaching modules. In addition, about 87,5% of upper-grade students successfully produced digital literacy works, such as digital stories and simple presentations. Learning became more interactive, contextual, and student-centered. The program also succeeded in optimizing the use of school digital facilities and building a learning media repository. Thus, this activity made a tangible contribution to improving the quality of Indonesian language learning and strengthening digital literacy in elementary schools. Keywords: Digital Learning; Digital Literacy; Indonesian Language; Elementary School.

Abstract

Abstrak Kegiatan workshop pelatihan pemanfaatan Artificial Intelligence (AI) dalam pembelajaran dilaksanakan di SMP Muhammadiyah Mataram sebagai upaya meningkatkan literasi digital siswa di tengah pesatnya perkembangan teknologi. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk mengenalkan konsep dasar Artificial Intelligence kepada siswa, memperkenalkan berbagai platform AI yang dapat dimanfaatkan dalam pembelajaran, seperti ChatGPT, DeepSeek, dan Gemini, serta memberikan pemahaman mengenai cara penggunaan dan manfaat AI secara tepat, bijak, dan bertanggung jawab. Mitra sasaran kegiatan ini adalah 22 siswa SMP Muhammadiyah Mataram yang berasal dari kelas VII, VIII, dan IX. Metode pelaksanaan workshop meliputi penyampaian materi secara interaktif mengenai pengertian dan peran AI dalam dunia pendidikan, demonstrasi penggunaan aplikasi AI, praktik langsung oleh peserta, serta diskusi dan tanya jawab untuk memperdalam pemahaman siswa. Melalui kegiatan praktik, siswa dibimbing untuk memanfaatkan AI sebagai alat bantu belajar, seperti membantu memahami materi pelajaran, mencari ide, serta menyusun jawaban sederhana secara mandiri. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan workshop mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan dan pemahaman siswa terhadap konsep dasar AI dan pemanfaatannya dalam pembelajaran. Siswa menunjukkan antusiasme yang tinggi selama kegiatan berlangsung serta mampu mengoperasikan beberapa aplikasi AI sesuai dengan arahan yang diberikan. Selain itu, siswa mulai memahami potensi AI sebagai media pendukung pembelajaran yang kreatif dan inovatif, sekaligus menyadari pentingnya penggunaan AI secara etis dan bertanggung jawab. Dengan demikian, kegiatan workshop ini diharapkan dapat menjadi langkah awal dalam membekali siswa dengan keterampilan literasi digital yang relevan untuk mendukung proses pembelajaran di sekolah.  Kata kunci: pelatihan; artificial intelligence; teknologi literasi digital; siswa SMP; pengabdian Abstract The workshop on the utilization of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in learning was conducted at SMP Muhammadiyah Mataram as an effort to enhance students’ digital literacy amid rapid technological development. This activity aimed to introduce the basic concepts of Artificial Intelligence to students, familiarize them with various AI platforms that can be utilized in learning, such as ChatGPT, DeepSeek, and Gemini, and provide an understanding of proper, responsible, and ethical AI usage. The target partners of this activity were 22 students of SMP Muhammadiyah Mataram from grades VII, VIII, and IX. The workshop was implemented through several methods, including interactive material delivery on the concept and role of AI in education, demonstrations of AI application usage, hands-on practice by participants, and discussions and question-and-answer sessions to deepen students’ understanding. During the practical sessions, students were guided to utilize AI as a learning support tool, such as assisting in understanding learning materials, generating ideas, and composing simple answers independently. The results of the activity indicate that the workshop successfully improved students’ knowledge and understanding of basic AI concepts and their application in learning. Students showed high enthusiasm throughout the activity and were able to operate several AI applications according to the given instructions. Furthermore, students began to understand the potential of AI as a creative and innovative learning support medium, while also recognizing the importance of ethical and responsible AI use. Therefore, this workshop is expected to serve as an initial step in equipping students with relevant digital literacy skills to support the learning process at school. Keywords: training; artificial intelligence; digital literacy technology; junior high school students; community service.

Abstract

AbstrakWorkshop penulisan artikel ilmiah menjadi penting mengingat rendahnya tingkat publikasi ilmiah mahasiswa di perguruan tinggi serta terbatasnya pendampingan dalam proses penulisan dan publikasi. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk mendukung peningkatan keterampilan menulis artikel ilmiah mahasiswa, dengan indikator capaian submit dan publikasi artikel serta kualitas penulisan sesuai standar jurnal. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada September 2025 dengan melibatkan 192 mahasiswa semester V PGSD FKIP Universitas Muhammadiyah Mataram. Metode yang digunakan adalah workshop partisipatif berbasis praktik (learning by doing) melalui empat tahapan: perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pendampingan dan peer review, serta evaluasi dan refleksi. Hasil menunjukkan 159 mahasiswa (82,8%) berhasil melakukan submit artikel, dan 60 artikel (31,3%) berhasil dipublikasikan pada jurnal terakreditasi. Capaian ini mengindikasikan bahwa mahasiswa mampu mengaplikasikan keterampilan penulisan ilmiah dalam konteks publikasi nyata. Dengan demikian, workshop dan pendampingan berkontribusi dalam mendukung pengembangan keterampilan menulis ilmiah sekaligus mendorong produktivitas publikasi. Kata kunci: keterampilan menulis ilmiah; publikasi artikel; workshop partisipatif. AbstractA workshop on scientific article writing is essential given the low rate of scientific publications by students in higher education institutions and the limited guidance available during the writing and publication process. This initiative aims to support the development of students’ scientific writing skills, with key performance indicators including the submission and publication of articles, as well as writing quality that meets journal standards. The activity was held in September 2025, involving 192 fifth-semester PGSD students from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Muhammadiyah University of Mataram. The method used was a practice-based participatory workshop (learning by doing) comprising four stages: planning, implementation, mentoring and peer review, and evaluation and reflection. The results showed that 159 students (82.8%) successfully submitted articles, and 60 articles (31.3%) were successfully published in accredited journals. These achievements indicate that students are able to apply scientific writing skills in the context of real-world publication. Thus, the workshop and mentoring contributed to supporting the development of scientific writing skills whilst encouraging publication productivity. Keywords: academic writing skills; article publication; participatory workshop.
