Abstract

This research aims to produce a feasible (valid, practical and effective) learning implementation plan using the Problem Based Learning learning model on student learning outcomes on Newton's Law material carried out at SMP Negeri 1 Suwawa Timur. This research is development research by Thiagarajan, Semmel and Semmel, namely a 4D development model which includes four stages (define, design, develop and disseminate). Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, questionnaires, tests. Data analysis uses descriptive analysis. The research results show that: 1) The validity of the RPP developed was determined through expert validation of 92.50% with very good criteria; 2) Practicality is determined through learning implementation of 94.17% with very good criteria, student activity of 93.17% with very good criteria, and student responses with an average of all aspects of 93.85% with very good criteria; 3) Effectiveness is determined through student learning outcomes with an N-Gain value of 0.77% high criteria. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the development of a Learning Implementation Plan using the Problem Based Learning model for student learning outcomes on Newton's Law material is suitable for use and meets the criteria of being valid, practical and effective.

Abstract

The Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model is a student-centered learning strategy that requires students to be skilled and sensitive in solving problems in the surrounding environment. This research aims to determine the effect of the PBL model on temperature and expansion topics on student learning outcomes. This research is experimental research, with the research design being One Group Pre-test and Post-test Design. The population of this research was class VII students of SMP Negeri 11 Gorontalo. The sample consists of 3 classes: experimental class, replication 1, and replication class 2. The data collection instruments used are validation sheets, observation sheets, and pre-test and post-test question sheets to see student learning outcomes; then, the data is analyzed using descriptive statistics and statistics. Inferential, which includes normality testing, hypothesis testing, and n-gain analysis. The results of the research show that the results of the hypothesis test are that for the experimental class, the t-count is 7.513 greater than t-table 1.697; for replication class 1, t-count 4.679 is more significant than t-table 1.720, and for replication class 2, t-count 2.080 is more important than t-table 1.729. It can be concluded that the hypothesis testing in each class is t-count greater than t-table; this can be interpreted as the influence of the PBL model on temperature and expansion topics on student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Jumlah sampel sebanyak 34 siswa.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to test the effect of using the Group Investigation learning model on student learning outcomes in static fluid material at SMA Negeri 6 Gorontalo Utara. This study uses a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design . The sampling technique used is total sampling , with a population of all students of class XI IPA SMA Negeri 6 Gorontalo Utara in the 2023/2024 academic year consisting of three classes. The research sample includes class XI IPA 1 as the experimental class, class XI IPA 2 as the replication class, and class XI IPA 3 as the control class. Data collection was carried out through tests, which were then analyzed using the N-gain test, effect size, and hypothesis testing. Based on the analysis, the N-gain of the experimental and replication classes is in the high category, while the control class is in the medium category. In the experimental class, the t-count value of 7.379 is higher than the t table of 1.706; in the replication class, the t value was 6.183 and in the control class, the t value was 2.952, all of which exceeded the t table value. These results indicate that the Group Investigation model has a positive effect on student learning outcomes. Thus, H1 is rejected and H0 is accepted, indicating that the model is significant in improving student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the low learning outcomes of students on the topic of parabolic motion, which requires conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills. Conventional teaching models are often ineffective in helping students understand complex physics concepts. Therefore, this study examines the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by PhET Simulation on students' learning outcomes in parabolic motion. This research uses a quasi-experimental method with a One Group Pretest-Posttest design. The sampling technique is total sampling, with a sample consisting of 93 students from class XI Physics Specialization at SMA Negeri 1 Suwawa, academic year 2024/2025, with class XI A as the experimental class, XI C as replication 1, and XI B as replication 2. Data were collected through pretests and posttests using 10 essay questions that have been validated by experts and tested for validity and reliability. The results show that the average posttest score of the experimental class is 84.3, while the posttest scores for replication 1 and 2 are 82.9 each. T-test analysis confirms that students’ learning outcomes in the experimental class using the PBL model assisted by PhET Simulation are significantly higher than KKM of 70. The effect of this model is also evident from the course average normalized gain, which falls into the high category, namely 0.78 for the experimental class, 0.73 for replication 1, and 0.75 for replication 2. Furthermore, analysis of single student normalized gain and n-gain per cognitive aspect shows improvement in learning outcomes in the moderate to high category across all classes.
