Abstract

This research was conducted to understand the value of conservation character in students by utilizing local resources in the coastal areas of Gorontalo Province. The research design used is the application of one group pretest-posttest design. Data collection was performed using cluster sampling techniques with research subjects totaling 160 students spread across four elementary schools in the coastal areas of Gorontalo Province. Data analysis was performed using N-Gain and Anava 2 x 2 test to see differences in learning outcomes in the form of moral knowledge and moral goodness of conservation at each grade level and examine the difference in the total score of the pretest and the total score of the posttest. The results showed that the N-Gain value for knowledge about coastal natural resources was 0.74, moral conservation knowledge was 0.76, and moral goodness conservation was 0.84. Anava test results showed the level of class and type of test differed significantly on the character values of students with sig <0.05 (0.000 <0.05). That is, there are differences in the value of student conservation characters based on grade levels. Significantly the character value of grade 3 and grade 4 students shows the highest value compared to the grade value of grade 5 and grade 6 students. The application of science learning tools with conservation characteristics utilizing the local potential of natural resources in elementary school students in coastal areas can understand the character conservation of students in coastal areas.

Abstract

A storybook is a book that contains stories about a situation or phenomenon. These circumstances or phenomena can be fact or fiction. In learning activities in elementary school story books can be used as a medium of learning for students. One of storybook utilization is in science learning. Storybooks can help the students at elementary school in learning activities as well as in school. In Science learning there is material that is absolutely contextually motivated, one of which is about the ecosystem. Ecosystem material can be the content of a story in a storybook for elementary students. The quality of a storybook that is used as a medium of learning in elementary school is determined by its validities. The aims of this study to describe the validity of learning media. The learning media is storybooks for grade V at elementary school students, in material of science especially. The subject in the study is a storybook that has been developed as a products in previous study.  This study is qualitative research with data analysis used is quantitative descriptive. Data collection using storybook learning media validation sheets. The results of this study that the analysis of Storybook Learning Media Products that have been validated has a validation score > 75% with valid criteria It means that the storybook products that have been produced can be utilized as a learning medium in ecosystem materials in grade V elementary school.

Abstract

Learning in the 21st-century class expects teachers to apply learning that invites students to conduct investigations. Guided inquiry learning is an example of learning that can train students' investigative abilities. This study aimed to analyze the validity and response of students on the used of coordination system teaching materials oriented guided inquiry. This research was part of research and development research that adapts the 4D model. The research subjects were 17 students of XI Grade SMA YPK Oikoumene Manokwari. Three experts and three practitioners were used for the validation process and a focus group discussion (FGD). Validation results showed that the coordination system teaching material oriented guided inquiry was valid and can be used for testing in the classroom. The response of students in the small group trial showed that learning could improve their motivation, comprehension, skill and interested in biology teaching. Their response is excellent. It can be concluded that the coordination system for teaching material oriented guided inquiry can be using for the next stage of testing to see its effectiveness. The effectiveness of learning in the next trial will be carried out in the future.

Abstract

This study aims to produce a learning tools based guided inquiry, suitable for use to increase student learning outcomes and scientific literacy on the concepts of cell division. Learning devices are developed using a design put forward by Borg & Gall. Learning tools validation by three validator. Trials practicality and effectiveness performed on students of class XII IPA 2 in SMA 1 Suwawa. Data collected analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. Data validity analysis based on conversion quantitative data to qualitative data with a Likert scale. Data analysis implementation of learning, and student activities done on the results of observations. Data obtained from the results of the pretest and posttes were analyzed using the normalized gain formula. The results of the study show that learning tools developed show very valid criteria with an average score of validators for lesson plans with a minimum of 44 and LKPD of 19. Practicality and effectiveness of learning devices through limited trials shows that the learning process has a minimum score of 79, the activities of students get a minimum score of 77, with minimum criteria good; and mastery of students' concepts based on N-gain calculation get a minimum scores of 79 with minimum criteria of height. This shows that learning devices are developed meet the requirements of validity, practicality, and effectiveness, so that proper to use in learning.

Abstract

This study aims to produce a supplement book for ethnobiology courses based on research on traditional medicinal plants in Wonawa District, Kepulauan Yapen Serui Regency. The type of research is research and development. The ADD (analysis, design, and development) stage of the ADDIE model is applied to the development of supplement books. Interviews are used for data collection and identification of medicinal plants. Experts validate books made while students fill out response questionnaires. The validity criteria for supplement books with a value of 88.63% based on the findings of the research are Very Valid. In the Excellent category are responses to supplement books from students with an average rate of 87.5%. The developed supplement book can be used for student learning because it fulfills the valid criteria and the response has been overwhelmingly positive.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the use of digital learning media as a source of information literacy and student activity. Research methods using mixed methods. Data collection using instruments in the form of questionnaires and observation sheets. The data analysis used was editing, tabulating, analyzing, concluding. The results of research for information literacy of students that the aspect that has the highest interval is found in the fourth aspect, namely the ability individually or in groups to use information effectively to achieve certain goals with a value of 3.74 while the lowest aspect with a value of 33.00 in the second aspect is the ability to access information that needed effectively. This is in line with Izzatinnida’s research (2019) that the use of internet media as a learning resource consists of browsing or searching to obtain significant additional material outside of textbook subject matter. Teachers and their students can access this information as a learning resource. In the learning activities of students for meetings I and II there was an increase in every aspect. These aspects include based on the introduction, student orientation to problems, organizing students to study, guiding investigations, developing and presenting work, analyzing and evaluating problem-solving processes it can be concluded that information literacy and learning activities can be put to good use during learning and increase learning activities in supporting information

Abstract

This research was calssifed as a Research and Development (R&D) that aimed to detemine the validity, practicality, and effectivenes of developing problem-based learning module to improve students’ learning outcomes. The samples consisted of 20 students in class X of SMA Negeri 7 PrasetyaGorontalo. This research was conducted to create module tahtreffered to the ADDIE model (Analysisi, Design, Development, Impelemntation, and Evaluation), but it was only limited to the development stage, namely the limited trial develpment stage. The instruments used were interview, validation sheet, and student response questionnaire, implementation of learning (teacher activity), student activity, and pre-test dan post-test. Teh result of module validation analysis with here validators obtained an average score of 85% (very valid). Meanwhile, the result of practicality analysis was observable from the teacher activity which obtained an average score of 93.3% (very good), the student activity in the small group trial obtained an average score of 90% (very good), and the student responses obtained an average score 88% (very feasible). In the meantime, the result of effectiveness analysis were observable from the result of N-Gain analysis in small group trial which obtained an average score of 0.62% (fairly effective). To conclude, the development of problem-based module on enviromental pollution topic intending to improve the students’ learning outcomes had met the valid and practical criteria but has not been effetive due to it only reached a limited trial. However, the module was feasible to use in the learning process.
