Abstract

Abstract: Quantitative analysis subjects requires knowledge and problem solving skills of pre-service chemistry teachers. The aims of this study was to develop and to analyze problem solving skills in quantitative analysis of preservice teachers through Problem Solving Based Lecture with Group Investigation (PSBL-GI). The study was quasy experiment conducted to pre-service teachers of year 2010 in semester three of Chemistry Education programs in one of LPTK in Central Sulawesi that is one experiment class (PBPS-IK) and one control class (concept and practice approach). Data were then collected on using a test problem solving skills with a reliability coefficient of 0.84. The collected data were analyzed qualitatively and tested the difference between N-gain of problem solving  PSBL-GI class with control class at level of significance is 5%. The results showed PSBL-GI can develop pre-service teachers' problem solving skill with categories medium (0,56).The ability to solve problem of pre-service teacher of PSBL-GI class have is greater than the control class. Problem solving skill of high group is better than medium and low groups. The highest N-gain of indicator of problem solving skill is representation (0.82) and the lowest is identification (0,28) while the highest sub subject of quantitative analysis is neutralization titration (0,67) and the lowest is complexometry titration (0,34). Abstrak: Penguasaan materi analisis kuantitatif tidak terlepas dari pengetahuan dan kemampuan problem solving calon guru. Kemampuan problem solving tidak muncul begitu saja namun memerlukan latihan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan dan menganalisis kemampuan problem solving calon guru dalam analisis kuantitatif melalui PBPS-IK. Penelitian dengan quasi experiments ini dilakukan terhadap calon guru angkatan tahun 2010 semester 3 program studi Pendidikan Kimia di salah satu LPTK di Sulawesi Tengah meliputi satu kelas eksperimen (PBPS-IK) dan satu kelas kontrol  (strategi ceramah dan latihan soal). Data dikumpulkan menggunakan tes kemampuan problem solving dengan koefisien reliabilitas sebesar 0,84. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis secara kualitatif dan uji perbedaan antara capaian kemampuan problem solving kelas PBPS-IK dengan kelas kontrol pada taraf signifikansi 5 %. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan PBPS-IK dapat mengembangkan kemampuan problem solving calon guru dengan kategori sedang. Calon guru kelas PBPS-IK memiliki kemampuan problem solving yang lebih besar dibandingkan kelas kontrol. Kelompok tinggi memiliki kemampuan problem solving yang lebih baik daripada kelompok sedang dan rendah. Capaian indikator problem solving yang tertinggi adalah representasi (0,82) dan terendah identifikasi (0,28). Sub materi dengan capaian kemampuan problem solving tertinggi adalah titrasi netralisasi (0,67) dan terendah titrasi kompleksometri (0,34). Abstract

Abstrak : Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah merancang program pembelajaran IPA berbasis tematik inoovatif yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis. Perancangan program dimulai dengan analisis pengetahuan awal dan gaya belajar siswa, analisis kurikulum, pemetaan kompetensi dasar dan topik pelajaran IPA. Selain itu dirancang juga alat evaluasi berupa tes kemampuan berpikir kritis, lembar observasi, dan angket. Hasil pemetaan selanjutnya dibuat silabus, RPP, LKS, dan media pembelajaran. Sintaks dalam pembelajaran IPAterpadu berbasis tematik dan inovatif adalahObservation, Questioning, Exploration, Analysis, Confirmation, and Evaluation (OQEACE). Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menyelidiki pengaruh pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing berbasis praktikum pada materi laju reaksi terhadap penguasaan konsep dan sikap ilmiah siswa. Penelitian dilaksanakan di salah satu SMA swasta di Kota Bogor kelas XI IPA pada tahun ajaran 2016/2017. Populasi berjumlah 192 siswa dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 60 siswa yang dibagi ke dalam 31 siswa mengikuti pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing berbasis praktikum dan 29 siswa mengikuti pembelajaran tradisional. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui test penguasaan konsep laju reaksi dan angket sikap ilmiah dengan skala likert. Data dianalisis secara statistik deskriptif dan inferensial menggunakan independent t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara penguasaan konsep siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing berbasis praktikum (rata-rata 80,7) dan penguasaan konsep siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran tradisional (rata-rata 74,8). Sikap ilmiah siswa juga menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan antara siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran dengan inkuiri terbimbing berbasis praktikum (rata-rata 3,2) dan sikap ilmiah siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran tradisional (rata-rata 2,2). Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing berbasis praktikum dapat meningkatkan penguasaan konsep dan sikap ilmiah siswa.

Abstract

The purpose of science education is to develop scientific literacy. This study investigated the effectiveness of Laboratory-Based Learning (LBL) in improving students’ scientific literacy. Samples were 70 seventh grade students in Bogor-West Java in which they were divided into two experimental groups, LBL and Non Laboratory-Based Learning (NLBL) group. Research instrument was scientific literacy test with 30 multiple choice questions about environmental pollution. Results suggested that both types of learning increase students’ scientific literacy, although LBL proved to create better scientific literacy improvement. Content and science process domain improvement for every indicator is discussed.

Abstract

Innovation in teaching materials used in online learning is very urgent based on students’ needs. This study aims to measure the effectiveness of contextual research-based teaching materials to improve students’ learning independence and concept mastery of acid-base solution properties. The research method is Research and Development, referring to Borg and Gall. The research subjects were 60 students and 7 science teachers who have used teaching materials based on contextual research findings. The data collection technique in this study is a test that aims to determine the concept mastery and a questionnaire to measure students’ learning independence. Based on the results of the study, it is known that the average percentage of student learning independence is 78% (Good category). Besides, an average value of 73.83 is obtained with an N-Gain of 64% (Medium category). The use of contextual research-based teaching materials can increase learning independence in terms of information search and concept mastery of acid-base solution properties.

Abstract

AbstrakPembelajaran berbasis proyek merupakan salah satu model pembelajaran yang direkomendasikan untuk digunakan dalam pembelajaran menurut kurikulum 2013. Pelaksanaan proses pembelajaran di Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) memiliki karakteristik yang berbeda dengan pelaksanaan pembelajaran di Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA). Guru SMK harus mampu mengembangkan model pembelajaran yang dapat menghasilkan aspek keterampilan kerja. Salah satu masalah paling kritis dalam proses belajar mengajar Bahasa Inggris di Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan adalah keengganan dan kreativitas guru yang kurang untuk menemukan cara agar pembelajaran lebih kreatif dan menyenangkan. Untuk mengetahui sejauh mana pemahaman siswa tentang suatu materi yang telah diajarkan dalam proses belajar mengajar, guru harus memberikan tugas kepada siswa. Penugasan dapat dilakukan dengan model Pembelajaran Berbasis Proyek (PjBL). Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana persepsi guru tentang pembelajaran berbasis proyek. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam desain deskriptif kualitatif yang melibatkan tiga guru Bahasa Inggris SMK di Kabupaten Indragiri Hilir, Provinsi Riau sebagai responden. Penelitian ini menggunakan wawancara semi terstruktur sebagai instrumen pengumpulan data. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa guru memiliki persepsi positif terhadap pembelajaran berbasis proyek. Dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa pembelajaran berbasis proyek perlu dilakukan oleh guru di kelas Bahasa Inggris sebagai salah satu model dalam proses belajar mengajar karena berfokus pada siswa.Kata Kunci: Pembelajaran Berbasis Proyek, Persepsi Guru, dan Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan. AbstractProject-based learning is one of the recommended learning models to be used in learning according to the 2013 curriculum. The implementation of the learning process in Vocational High Schools has different characteristics from the implementation of learning in Senior High Schools. Vocational high school teachers must be able to develop learning models that can produce aspects of work skills. One of the most critical problems in teaching and learning English at Vocational High School is teachers’ unwillingness and less creativity to find ways to make learning more creative and fun. To find out to what extent students understand the material that has been taught in the teaching and learning process, the teachers must give assignments to the students. The assignments can be done with the model Project-Based Learning. The aim of this study was to investigate how teachers’ perceptions about project-based learning. This research was conducted in descriptive qualitative design which involved three vocational high school English teachers in Indragiri Hilir Regency, Riau Province as respondents. This research used the semi-structured interview as an instrument to collect the data. The result of the analysis showed that teachers have a positive perception of project-based learning. The conclusion can be drawn that project-based learning was needed to do by the teachers in the EFL classroom as one of the models in the teaching and learning process because its focus on student-centered.Keywords: Project-Based Learning, Teachers’ Perception, and Vocational High School.

Abstract

Critical thinking skills should be trained and practiced in the learning process. This study aimed to describe the use of Innovative-Thematic Based Integrated Science (ITBIS) Learning Program to improve critical thinking skills of junior high school students in Palu. The study conducted in the 7th grade from one of Palu public schools and one of Palu private schools. Data were collected by observation sheet of learning performance and students activity, also test instrument for measuring students’ critical thinking skills. The data of learning performance and students activity were analyzed quantitatively, whereas the data of critical thinking skills were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The result showed that lTBIS learning can be done well either in public school and private school with average 98,03% and 90,20% respectively. ITBIS learning also improve students activity in the learning process. The average of critical thinking skills improvement (N-gain) was 68% (public school) and 63% (private school), and there were no significant differences between both of them. It showed that lTBIS learning can be used to build critical thinking skills of junior high school students.

Abstract

Quality and competent human resources are needed in the 21st century. Based on the importance of critical thinking skills and sustainability awareness and ESD implementation, it is necessary to study critical thinking skills and sustainability awareness, as well as the need for teaching materials and ESD implementation. The main novelties in this study are acquiring critical thinking skills and sustainability awareness, as well as the need for teaching materials and the implementation of ESD in this study are expected to be a consideration in preparing teaching materials that can train students to think critically and have sustainability awareness to support ESD implementation. The method used is descriptive. The data is processed quantitatively and interpreted qualitatively. The study was conducted on 213 students and six junior high school teachers in the city of Bogor. The level of critical thinking skills of students is in the low category.. The total mean of 3.65 indicates that the level of sustainability awareness of students is a moderate level. The implementation of ESD is important to overcome various environmental problems that are currently occurring. ESD learning is expected to increase students' sustainability awareness and critical thinking skills. This study are expected to be a consideration in preparing teaching materials that can train students to think critically and have sustainability awareness to support ESD implementation.
