Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the implementation of the Integrated Tax and Retribution Information System (SIMPATTI) on the quality of public services at the Regional Tax and Retribution Management Agency (BPPRD) of Jambi City. The study used a quantitative approach involving 51 respondents who were active users of the SIMPATTI application. Research data were collected through the distribution of questionnaires and structured interviews, then analyzed using a simple linear regression method with the help of SPSS software version 31. The results of the analysis indicate that the implementation of SIMPATTI has a positive and significant effect on improving the quality of public services. This effect is evident in aspects of service speed, ease of access to information, and the level of taxpayer satisfaction with the services provided. These findings confirm that the digitalization of the regional tax system through SIMPATTI is able to create public service governance that is more efficient, transparent, and responsive to community needs, thereby supporting improved bureaucratic performance and public trust in local government.

Abstract

The Indonesian government has developed a comprehensive halal certification program through the Halal Product Assurance Organizing Body (BPJPH). However, the halal certification recording application requires enhancements due to its lack of data elements pertaining to micro and small enterprises (MSEs) with geographical or location references. Geographic Information System (GIS) technology can serve as a solution for data management in the halal industry, encompassing the management, monitoring and analysis of spatial-temporal and real-time data. This research is aimed at developing geospatial technology for industrial halal management within the scope of MSEs. Methods for developing geospatial technology-based management of halal industry applications use analysis, design, development and evaluation through the ArcGIS online platform developed by Environmental Systems Research Institute (Esri). The findings of this research highlight the potential of geospatial technology in the halal industry. It can be effectively utilized to integrate and comprehensively manage halal industry data on a spatial basis, enabling performance monitoring of MSEs, halal product process assistance and the BPJPH. This technology allows for quick analysis of patterns, distributions, trends, associations and regional comparisons, providing valuable insights. Consequently, geospatial technology can support policy recommendations aimed at accelerating the halal certification process by mapping and analyzing relevant data based on geographic locations, facilitating a better understanding of spatial distribution and relationships within the halal industry. This research successfully develops geospatial technology for managing halal industries within MSEs, enabling comprehensive data integration and spatial analysis. The findings highlight its potential to enhance monitoring, support policy recommendations and accelerate the halal certification process.

Abstract

This community service program aims to strengthen village governance capacity through mentoring and assistance in implementing the digital Village Information System (OpenSID) as part of Indonesia’s Smart Village agenda. The program focuses on improving administrative services, data management, and community participation at the village level. Using a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, the program was conducted in Jujun Village and involved village officials, community members, local government representatives, and digital platform developers. The intervention consisted of sequential stages, including policy socialization on the role of the Village Information System in smart governance, capacity-building workshops for village officials, hands-on technical assistance in operating OpenSID, and community outreach to promote SID-based public services. Evaluation was conducted two weeks after implementation using qualitative indicators encompassing knowledge, attitudes, skills, partnership dynamics, and follow-up commitment. The findings indicate improvements in digital literacy and operational capacity among village officials, as well as increased community awareness of digital public services. However, the program also revealed limitations in sustaining digital transformation, particularly related to managerial commitment, leadership-driven institutionalization, and resource ownership. Stakeholder participation was evident but often remained normative rather than transformative. Overall, this community service initiative contributes to ongoing discussions on digital governance and rural development by demonstrating that technology adoption alone is insufficient to achieve smart governance outcomes. Instead, sustained impact depends on participatory capacity building and the development of dynamic managerial capabilities that enable villages to institutionalize digital governance practices over time.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mengoptimalkan pariwisata berbasis komunitas di Wisata Mangrove Pangkal Babu melalui peningkatan kapasitas pengelolaan keuangan khususnya pada pelaporan keuangan bagi kelompok sadar wisata Mangrove Pangkal Babu. Pariwisata berbasis komunitas (CBT) memiliki potensi besar untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat lokal, namun seringkali terhambat oleh rendahnya kapasitas pengelolaan keuangan yang efektif dan efisien. Melalui pelatihan dan pendampingan keuangan, kegiatan ini membantu kelompok sadar wisata Mangrove Pangkal Babu dalam meningkatkan kemampuan mereka mengelola pendapatan dan melakukan pencatatan keuangan yang transparan. Metode yang digunakan adalah pelatihan partisipatif dan evaluasi berkelanjutan untuk memastikan penerapan hasil pelatihan dalam praktik sehari-hari. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan pengelolaan keuangan melalui aplikasi pelaporan keuangan yang diberikan oleh tim pengabdian FEB Universitas Jambi. Diharapkan dengan adanya peningkatan kapasitas ini, wisata Mangrove Pangkal Babu dapat dikelola dengan lebih profesional, mendukung perekonomian lokal, dan menjaga kelestarian lingkungan.

Abstract

The smart city initiative in Jambi City exemplifies the opportunities and challenges of digital transformation in local governance. This study develops a framework for smart governance transformation in Jambi City, focusing on two critical components: the dynamic managerial capabilities of municipal staff and aligning digital application architecture with Smart Governance (SG) principles. Using a mixed-methods approach, we quantitatively assessed the influence of managerial capabilities and technology adoption factors on smart governance outcomes. We employed the Technology Adoption Model (TAM) and the Technology–Organization–Environment (TOE) framework to guide this assessment. We then qualitatively validated the results through interviews, focus group discussions, and document analysis. The study found that dynamic managerial capabilities have a stronger impact on smart governance outcomes than technology factors alone. Stakeholders who embraced innovation and integrated digital tools achieved better service quality, efficiency, and citizen participation (â H” 0.5, p < 0.01). This was compared to the moderate effect of application usability and alignment (â H” 0.3, p < 0.05). Although user-friendly “Quick Win” apps improved services, their potential was limited by low organizational readiness and poor integration. Qualitative evidence confirmed that leadership support and staff empowerment were crucial to success. These findings demonstrate the importance of pairing technology with human capacity and collaborative governance. The study proposes a design framework that combines capacity building with application architecture refinements to institutionalize smart governance principles.

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas pendampingan dalam pengembangan produk olahan cabai sebagai strategi untuk meningkatkan pendapatan masyarakat Desa Maju Jaya, Kecamatan Kumpeh, Kabupaten Muaro Jambi. Desa Maju Jaya memiliki potensi cabai, dengan 98% lahan merupakan lahan pertanian cabai dan memiliki dimiliki oleh masyarakat sendiri. Produk cabai segar melimpah pada masa panen dan membuat harga cabai turun. Kondisi ini diperburuk dengan masa penghujan yang menyebabkan lahan pertanian tergenang dan petani tidak dapat menanam cabai. Prodi Manajemen Pemerintahan melalui Program Pengabdian Masyarakat Mahasiswa (P2M2) dari Universitas Jambi memberikan pendampingan pengembangan produk olahan cabai kepada masyarakat Desa Maju Jaya. Pendampingan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan akses informasi yang dibutuhkan oleh masyarakat desa untuk mengembangkan produk olahan cabai secara efektif. Dengan demikian, diharapkan masyarakat dapat meningkatkan pendapatan ekonomi mereka dengan memanfaatkan potensi yang ada dan mencapai kemandirian ekonomi. Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan menggunakan metode Asset Based Community Development (ABCD). Pada kegiatan pengabdian ini, tim pengabdian melakukan kunjungan untuk observasi terkait dengan kondisi apa yang masyarakat petani cabai harapkan. Mengacu pada murahnya harga cabai saat produksi melimpah, maka petani menginginkan cabai dapat diproduksi menjadi produk olahan bukan hanya dijual dalam bentuk produk pangan mentah.  Dalam pengabdian ini tim peneliti melihat bahwa sejak dulu, masyarakat desa telah terbiasa dengan bertani cabai, kecakapan dalam bertani diteruskan secara turun temurun. Namun, saat ini mereka terkendala pada perubahan iklim yaitu banjir yang membuat harga cabai rendah dan musim tanam yang terputus. Sehingga, untuk menciptakan kondisi masa depan dimana petani tetap dapat mendapatkan penghasilan layak dari produk cabai, maka tim pengabdian mengusulkan kegiatan hilirisasi produk cabai menjadi bubuk cabai.

Abstract

The development of the skincare industry in Indonesia has experienced significant growth along with increasing public awareness of skin care and the influence of social media in marketing activities. One of the emerging local skincare brands is Glad2Glow. This study aims to examine the effect of Social Media Marketing and Price on Purchase Decisions for Glad2Glow skincare products in Jambi City. This research employs a quantitative approach using a survey method by distributing questionnaires to consumers who have used Glad2Glow products. The data analysis technique used is multiple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS software. The results show that partially, Social Media Marketing has a positive and significant effect on Purchase Decisions, with a regression coefficient of 0.601 and a significance value of less than 0.05. In addition, Price also has a positive and significant effect on Purchase Decisions, with a regression coefficient of 0.599 and a significance value of less than 0.05. Simultaneously, Social Media Marketing and Price have a significant effect on Purchase Decisions. These findings indicate that social media marketing strategies and pricing that align with consumer perceptions are important factors in increasing consumer purchase decisions for Glad2Glow skincare products in Jambi City.

Abstract

This research analysed the process of the supply chain of natural rubber between Tauke (collectors) and farmers and between farmers who have their rubber plantation and their tapper labour, with the institutional political economy analysis in Batanghari Regency, Jambi province. The research was descriptive research with a qualitative approach. This research used in-depth interviews with particular informants with purposive sampling and participative observation methods in certain activities. Data that had been obtained was analysed and qualitatively described. This research found that the collectors still overpowered the supply-chain process of natural rubber in the Batanghari Regency – trader, both at the village, sub-regency, and Regency levels. Other institutions, such as the auction market and crumb rubber factory, were located only in particular locations, so they were not accessible to the whole farmers in the Regency. As a result, several channels of marketing systems made different prices from what the farmers got. Institutional marketing indeed could be implemented. It has been proven by institutions such as auctions, joint venture groups, and other groups. Besides, some non–economic aspects can affect the way price parameter changes in the supply chain process, and they are; institution characteristics, marketing channel, and patronage relationship between farmers and traders. Batanghari Regency government should re-examine their plantation regulation about the marketing mechanism until the lowest level, villages. The government should have encouraged a mutual understanding among farmers so that similar efforts could occur elsewhere.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of service quality and application quality on user satisfaction with the Sipaduko public service application at the Department of Population and Civil Registration of Jambi City. The research is motivated by the importance of improving the quality of digital-based public services to fulfill community needs effectively and efficiently. Although Sipaduko was developed to simplify online population administration services, several obstacles remain, including limited human resources, application usage difficulties, system disruptions, and lengthy service processes. This study uses a quantitative approach with data collected through questionnaires distributed to Sipaduko users. The data were analyzed using statistical methods to determine the partial and simultaneous effects of service quality and application quality on user satisfaction, as well as to identify the most dominant variable. The results indicate that both service quality and application quality significantly influence user satisfaction, both individually and simultaneously. Among the two variables, application quality shows the strongest influence on user satisfaction in accessing digital public services.
