Abstract

This study aims to analyze and determine: (1) the level of students' mathematical creative thinking ability when taught using the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model; (2) a description of the students' creative thinking process in mathematics during the learning process using the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model. This research is a descriptive qualitative study. The subjects of this research were 30 students of class VIII-2 from SMP Negeri 1 Pematangsiantar. The research findings are as follows: (1) 18 students in the high-ability category were classified as highly creative, fulfilling 3 indicators of creative thinking: fluency, flexibility, and novelty; 9 students in the moderate-ability category were classified as creative, fulfilling 2 indicators of creative thinking: fluency and flexibility; and 3 students in the low-ability category were classified as less creative, fulfilling only 1 indicator of creative thinking: fluency. These results indicate that students demonstrated an improvement in creative thinking abilities after being taught using the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model. It is also hoped that the Contextual Teaching and Learning model can be applied in the learning process to enhance students' mathematical creative thinking abilities.: Answering Process; Contextual Teaching and Learning; Creative Thinking.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of the Autograph application-assisted Problem Solving learning model on the mathematical representation abilities of students in Grade VIII at UPTD SMP Negeri 1 Pematangsiantar. This study uses a quantitative experimental research design. Quantitative research is objective in terms of data collection, quantitative data analysis, and testing using statistical methods. This study will be conducted in class VIII of SMP Negeri 1 Pematangsiantar. The sampling technique used by the researcher to determine the sample in this study is cluster random sampling. Based on the results of data analysis and discussion, it can be concluded that there is a positive and significant effect of the use of the problem-solving learning model on the mathematical representation abilities of students in class VIII UPTD SMP Negeri 1 Pematangsiantar. This effect is shown by the correlation value between variables (R) of 0.945 and the regression equation ?̂ = −4.357 + 0.473? with a value of ? = 0.473. Based on the t-test results, it was found that there was a significant effect and the coefficient of determination showed a positive effect of 89.3%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of guided inquiry learning models on students' mathematical problem-solving abilities in probability. The research population consisted of all eighth-grade students at UPTD SMP Negeri 5 Pematangsiantar in the 2025/2026 academic year, while the research sample was taken randomly and consisted of treatment classes that used guided inquiry learning models. The research instruments consisted of a mathematical problem-solving ability test and a student perception questionnaire used to support the research data. Data analysis was performed using simple linear regression and t-tests. The results showed that there was a significant effect of the guided inquiry learning model on students' mathematical problem-solving abilities. The regression equation obtained was Y=1.596 + 0.311X with a coefficient value of b = 1.596. The t-test results showed that the guided inquiry learning model had a positive and significant effect on students' mathematical problem-solving skills in probability material.

Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to determine the effect of the problem-based learning model on the computational thinking skills of eighth-grade students at SMP Cinta Rakyat 3 Pematangsiantar on the subject of two-variable linear equation systems. The method used in this study was based on quasi-experimental research with a purposive sample of 30 students. The instruments used were tests and questionnaires that had been declared valid and reliable. The hypothesis test used was the t-test and the coefficient of determination. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that there is a significant effect of the use of the Problem-Based Learning model on the computational thinking skills of eighth-grade students at SMP Cinta Rakyat 3 Pematangsiantar in the 2025/2026 academic year. This positive effect is shown through the regression equation Y = 11.325 + 0.275X with a b value of 0.275. The contribution of the problem-based learning model to students' computational thinking skills is 72.9%.

Abstract

Scientific writing is one of the essential competencies that students must possess, yet it is often hindered by difficulties in managing references and proper citations. This community service aims to enhance students’ ability to write scientific papers systematically and efficiently through the utilization of Mendeley as a reference management tool. The activities were conducted in the form of workshops and hands-on practice using Mendeley, covering installation, literature management, and the creation of citations and bibliographies according to academic standards. The methods employed included a combination of demonstration, discussion, and direct practice with student participants at HKBP Nommensen University Pematangsiantar. The results of the community service indicated a significant improvement in students’ skills in managing references, facilitating citation writing, and accelerating the process of preparing scientific papers. Thus, the use of Mendeley can serve as an effective strategy to support students’ academic productivity and enhance the quality of scientific writing

Abstract

Aras Village is a village in Air Putih District, Batu Bara Regency, North Sumatra Province. The people who live in the Aras Village area are farmers, fish cultivators and traders. The partner's problem is that they have never received training in making independent feed and evaluating their cultivation business. So far, fish farmers in Aras Village still rely on factory-made feed, causing the price of the feed product to be very high, reaching 70% of the total production costs and they cannot evaluate their business. The aim of community empowerment activities is to assist fish farmers in managing and increasing fish farmers' income in managing catfish cultivation. The priority aim of community service carried out by lecturers is to improve the economy. The stages of the implementation method used are outreach and training to the community on how to make good and healthy fish food. Socialization, training and assistance to the catfish farming community on how to evaluate catfish cultivation businesses by calculating income, expenses, BEP, B/C ratio and NPV (overcoming management problems). Evaluation of program implementation is carried out every time an activity is carried out, such as socialization, training and mentoring. Socialization and training on making independent feed and evaluating fisheries businesses is going well in Aras Village, Air Putih District, Batu Bara Regency. The program evaluation results show that as many as 80% of cultivator groups can know how to make feed independently and evaluate their efforts.

Abstract

Peneitian ini untuk mengetahui Pengaruh Model Pembelajaran Think Pair Share (Tps) Terhadap Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis Siswa Pada Materi Spldv Kelas Viii Smp Negeri 2 Siantar. Penelitian ini dirancang untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengaruh model pembelajaran Think Pair Share (TPS) terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi SPLDV kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Siantar. Pada penelitian ini bentuk desain yang digunakan adalah One-Shot Case Study. Perlakuan yang diberikan pada kelas eksperimen adalah penggunaan model pembelajaran Think Pair Share (TPS). Adapun sampel dari penelitian ini adalah siswa SMP Negeri 2 Siantar kelas VIII-7 berjumlah 30 siswa yang terpilih untuk dijadikan sampel dalam penelitian yang akan peneliti lakukan dengan harapan agar hasil penelitian dapat menggambarkan semua populasi. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dan pembahasan dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh signifikan penggunaan model pembelajaran Think Pair Share terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi SPLDV kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Siantar. Pengaruh itu ditunjukkan melalui persamaan regresi Y = 4,092 + 0,875X. Pengaruh tersebut melalui uji-t, yaitu t_hitung> t_tabel (14,547>2,048) atau p (sig.) < 0,05 (0,000 < 0,05) maka H_0 ditolak dan H_1 diterima yang artinya terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran Think Pair Share (TPS) terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi SPLDV kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Siantar. Dan pengaruh variabel independen (model pembelajaran Think Pair Share (TPS) terhadap variabel dependen (kemampuan berpikir kritis) adalah 88,3%

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meihat Pengaruh Mode Pembeajaran Problem Based Learning Terhadap Hasi Beajar Siswa Pada Materi Sistem Persamaan Linear Dua Variabe Keas Viii Mts Swasta Al-Barokah Simalungun. Metode penelitian yang digunakan untuk mencari pengaruh perlakuan tertentu terhadap yang lain dalam kondisi yang terkendalikan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen dengan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif, jenis metode yang digunakan Pre-experimental Design dengan desain One-Shot Case Study. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dan pembahasan dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh signifikan penggunaan model pembelajaran problem based learning terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas VIII MTS Swasta Al-Barokah Simalungun tahun ajaran 2023/2024. Hal ini dibuktikan dari persamaan regresi Y = 4,233 + 0,221X. Pengaruh tersebut melalui uji-t, yaitu thitung > ttabel (12,612 > 2,408) atau sig. < 0,05 (0,000 < 0,05), maka H0 ditolak dan HI diterima yang artinya terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran problem based learning terhadap hasil belajar siswa materi sistem persamaan linear dua variabel kelas VIII MTS Swasta Al-Barokah Simalungun tahun ajaran 2023/2024. Besar pengaruh penggunaan model pembelajaran problem based learning terhadap hasil belajar siswa adalah sebesar 85%

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuaan untuk: (1) Mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang diajarkan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning lebih tinggi daripada kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang diajarkan model pembelajaran konvensional. (2) Mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang diajarkan dengan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning. Metode yang diguanakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian non-equivalent control group design, sampel penelitian terdiri atas dua kelas yaitu kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Kelas VII-11 sebagai kelas eksperimen yang mendapatkan perlakuan dengan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning dan kelas VII-9 sebgai kelas control yang diajarakan dengan model pembelajaran konvensional. Penelitian ini menggunakan instrument berupa soal uraian tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Data yang telah terkumpul kemudian diolah dengan menggunakan perangkat lunak SPSS 23.0 for windows 10 dan Excel 2010 hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang di model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning lebih tinggi daripada kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang diajarkan model pembelajaran konvensional. (2) Terdapat peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang diajarkan dengan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning.

Abstract

Penelitian ini berjutuan untuk mengetahui Pengaruh Pendekatan Open-Ended Terhadap Kemampuan Pemahaman Konsep Matematis Pada Materi Perpangkatan Dan Bentuk Akar Di Kelas Ix Smp Swasta Hki Pulosiborna. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif. Pada penelitian ini bentuk desain yang digunakan adalah one-shot case study. Perlakuan yang diberikan pada kelas eksperimen adalah pengaruh pendekatan Open-Ended terhadap pemahaman konsep matematis siswa pada materi perpangkatan dan bentuk akar. Penelitian ini berlokasi di SMP Swasta HKI Pulosiborna. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada semester ganjil Tahun Ajaran 2023/2024. Yang menjadi alasan peneliti memilih lokasi tersebut ialah karena ditemukannya beberapa permasalahan yang menyangkut rendahnya pemahaman konsep matematika siswa di kelas IX SMP Swasta HKI Pulosiborna. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IX di SMP Swasta HKI Pulosiborna T.A 2023/2024 Semester Ganjil. Dan jenis teknik yang akan diterapkan dalam Tabel 3.2 Data populasi siswa kelas IX SMP Swasta HKI Pulosiborna penelitian ini ialah Cluster Random Sampling. Dimana Cluster Random Sampling adalah teknik sampling yang digunakan untuk menentukan sampel bila objek yang akan diteliti atau sumber data sangat luas maka pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara random. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dan pembahasan dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh signifikan penggunaan pendekatan Open-Ended terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa kelas IX SMP Swasta HKI Pulosiborna. Pengaruh itu ditunjukkan melalui persamaan regresi Y= -26,087 + 0,796X. Pengaruh tersebut melalui uji-t, yaitu thitung > ttabel (12, 679 > 2,048) atau p (sig.) < 0,05 (0,000 < 0,05) maka H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima yang artinya terdapat pengaruh pendekatan Open-Ended/1terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis pada materi perpangkatan dan bentuk akar di kelas IX SMP Swsata HKI Pulosiborna. Dan pengaruh variabel independen (pendekatan Open-Ended ) terhadap variabel dependen (Kemampuan pemahaman konsep Matematis) adalah sebesar 85,2 %.
