Abstract

The mathematics learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SDN 14 Gadut, Agam Regency, on the topic of data representation were still unsatisfactory. Only 9 out of 16 students (56,25%) achieved the Minimum Learning Achievement Criteria (KKTP) of 75. This condition indicated the need for a learning model that actively engages students and promotes contextual problem-solving. This study aimed to improve the mathematics learning outcomes of fifth-grade students on the topic of data representation through the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model integrated with the Deep Learning approach. This research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model, conducted in two cycles. The participants consisted of all 16 fifth-grade students, including 10 girls and 6 boys. Data were collected through students' learning outcomes from worksheets (LKPD) and achievement tests, periodic practice exercises, as well as attitude and skills assessment questionnaires. Quantitative data were analyzed using mean scores and learning mastery percentages, while qualitative data were examined through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings revealed that learning mastery improved from 50% at the initial stage to 93.75% in Cycle I Meeting I and remained relatively stable at 87.50% until the end of Cycle II. The average cognitive achievement increased from 84.42 to 88.99 during Cycle I but slightly declined to 84.23 in Cycle II. In contrast, students' skills demonstrated consistent improvement, increasing from 71.88 to 76.33. Overall, the results indicate that integrating the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model with the Deep Learning approach contributed positively to improving students' mathematics learning outcomes on the topic of data representation, although the improvement in cognitive achievement was not consistently sustained across all cycles. Abstract

This research is motivated by the low problem-solving skills of students in learning mathematics in elementary school. Observations in class IV B at SD Negeri 08 Lubuk Layang showed that students had difficulty understanding story problems, identifying important information, and determining steps to solve them, which affected students' academic performance. To address this problem, computational thinking (CT) was used, emphasizing a systematic thinking process through decomposition, pattern recognition, and abstraction. This study aims to describe the design of the teaching module, the implementation of learning, and the improvement of students' problem-solving skills using a CT approach on the number pattern material for class IV at SD Negeri 08 Lubuk Layang. This study used classroom action research (CAR) conducted in two cycles with quantitative and qualitative approaches. The research procedures included planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 14 students of class IV B. Data collection techniques use test and non-test techniques, while data analysis uses quantitative and qualitative data analysis. The research results show that students' problem-solving skills increased from an average of 71.8% in cycle I to 93.6% in cycle II. Thus, the CT approach is effective in improving students' problem- solving skills in number pattern material in elementary school.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the poor math learning results of fourth-grade pupils at SDN 14 Gadut, Agam Regency. The use of tangram media in conjunction with the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach to teach the subject of composition and breakdown of planar forms was one attempt to overcome this problem. Three cycles of preparation, action, observation, and reflection were used in this study's Classroom Action Research design. The research involved sixteen fourth-graders. Data was collected through observation, recording, and learning accomplishment tests. The results showed that throughout the cycles, the quality of the learning process improved continuously. Both instructor and student activities improved and fell into the "very good" category, while the lesson plan assessment score rose from 86.11% to 94.44%. Additionally, the average learning outcomes of students rose from 76.52% to 89.63%. These results show that using tangram media in conjunction with the Contextual Teaching and Learning strategy may significantly improve students' learning outcomes in mathematics.

Abstract

Mathematics learning in elementary schools still faces various obstacles, especially low student learning outcomes in data presentation materials. This condition is caused by the learning process that is still centered on the teacher so that students are less active in building their knowledge. This study aims to describe the improvement in student learning outcomes through the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in data presentation materials in grade III of SDN 19 Santur, Sawahlunto City. This study is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) carried out in two cycles, where each cycle consists of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects were grade III students of SDN 19 Santur, Sawahlunto City. Data collection was carried out using observation, test and non-test techniques. Data were analyzed using qualitative and quantitative data analysis techniques. The results of the study indicate that the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model is able to improve the quality of the learning process and student learning outcomes. Improvements are seen in student activities, as well as learning outcomes in the aspects of knowledge, attitudes and skills in each cycle. Thus, the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model can be used as an alternative learning model to improve mathematics learning outcomes in data presentation materials in elementary schools.

Abstract

This research was conducted because the learning outcomes of fourth- grade students at SD Negeri 13 Pasar Remaja, Sawahlunto City, on data presentation are still relatively low. This low learning outcome is indicated by a class average score of 68.36, with a learning completion percentage of only 45.45%. Consequently, some students have not yet achieved the Learning Objective Achievement Criteria (KKTP). This condition is influenced by the teacher-centered learning process, students' lack of active participation in discussions and collaboration, and their inability to construct knowledge independently. Therefore, this study aims to describe the improvement in student learning outcomes through the application of the Project-Based Learning model to data presentation in fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 13 Pasar Remaja, Sawahlunto City. This study is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) with qualitative and quantitative approaches, implemented in two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were teachers and 22 fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 13 Pasar Remaja, Sawahlunto City, in the 2025/2026 academic year. Data were obtained through an in-depth learning plan (RPM) assessment, observations of teacher and student activities, and learning outcome tests. Data were analyzed using qualitative and quantitative data analysis techniques. The results showed that the implementation of the Project-Based Learning model improved the quality of the learning process and student learning outcomes. The percentage of student activity increased from 75% in Cycle I to 96.4% in Cycle II, qualifying as very good. Furthermore, the average learning outcome score increased from 68.36 at the initial level to 74.54 in Cycle I, then again to 85 in Cycle II. The learning completion percentage also increased from 45.45% at the initial level to 72.73% in Cycle I and reached 95.45% in Cycle II. Thus, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Project-Based Learning model can improve the quality of the learning process and students' mathematics learning outcomes in data presentation material in fourth grade at SD Negeri 13 Pasar Remaja, Sawahlunto City.
