Abstract

Globalisasi memberikan dampak signifikan dalam berbagai aspek kehidupan, yang tanpa disadari, telah membuat generasi muda lebih tertarik pada kesenian modern. Oleh karena itu, kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yang bertujuan untuk memperkenalkan seni dan budaya lokal menjadi sangat penting, sebagai bagian dari pelestarian kearifan lokal. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk membentuk generasi muda yang memiliki budi pekerti luhur, wawasan mengenai kearifan lokal, serta rasa cinta terhadap budaya lokal, sekaligus mendorong upaya pelestarian kebudayaan Sasak melalui pengenalan wayang Sasak di Pasraman Widya Sastra, Dusun Bengkoang, Desa Sokong, Kecamatan Tanjung, Lombok Utara. Metode yang diterapkan dalam kegiatan ini mencakup observasi, ceramah, dan pelatihan (workshop). Hasil kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa acara tersebut efektif dalam memperkenalkan seni dan budaya Sasak, khususnya wayang Sasak, kepada generasi muda melalui penggunaan media animasi, yang dipadukan dengan workshop mewarnai. Kegiatan ini terbukti berhasil meningkatkan minat peserta dan mempermudah pemahaman mereka terhadap materi yang disampaikan

Abstract

Metatah is a Hindu tradition of filing six teeth from left to right which is part of Manusia Yadnya. This tradition aims to control sad ripu, which are six enemies within humans. From the initial data collection questionnaire, data was obtained that there is still a lack of understanding among Hindu teenagers regarding the history, stages, and meaning of the metatah ceremony which is a challenge that has the potential to reduce the quality of yadnya. Webtoon media was chosen as a means of education because of its practicality, accessibility via the internet, and flexibility to be read at any time. This study uses a descriptive qualitative research method to describe in detail the process of designing an educational webtoon with a design thinking design method that includes five main steps, namely empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test. Data collection techniques are carried out using observation, interview, and documentation methods. The data obtained are analyzed qualitatively through a categorization process which is then used in designing stories and visuals. This project produces a webtoon comic entitled "Metatah: A History, Journey & Meaning" which consists of four episodes and is published on the webtoon platform. Theoretically, this research contributes to the use of digital media based on visual narratives as an educational communication strategy in understanding culture among teenagers.

Abstract

Fires in homes can be caused by short circuits and leakage of Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG). LPG gas leaks are very dangerous because apart from being able to cause fires, they can also cause explosions so LPG leaks need to be dealt with quickly so as not to cause greater damage. One way to overcome this is by training the community to make LPG gas detectors. The result of the PKM is that effective training can be carried out for junior high school children, senior high schools, and the general public.

Abstract

This community service program was aimed at socializing on how local wisdom-based English curriculum development model carried out for the Public Vocational High School English teachers. Curriculum design by integrating local cultural elements into the development of English language teaching materials is an important uniqueness in the development of the vocational students’ local cultural competencies and linguistics aspects. The method of implementing the community service was carried out by providing socialization of the curriculum development model which is carried out using the lecturing model and Focused Group Discussion (FGD). The results suggest the socialization of local wisdom-based English curriculum development activities is positive with a score scale of 3.01-4.0. There are two important elements in curriculum development by considering the students’ needs, namely elements of local cultural knowledge and linguistic knowledge. There are three requirements in a curriculum development, namely noticing at the students' needs & necessity, learning needs and the patterns of a curriculum design on how to structurally develop.

Abstract

The problem found in the environment of SMP Negeri 1 Gerung is the lack of understanding of students in using or exploiting digital media as an effective learning tool, especially in the field of graphic design, which is currently the promotional media with the greatest use in society. This training was carried out with the aim of providing insight and experience for students so they know better how to use digital media properly and correctly. This training focuses on understanding and how to create poster designs using currently available digital media. For students, this training is very necessary so that they can use digital media professionally. The expected benefit is that students are able to understand and create poster designs by utilizing existing digital media and can broaden their horizons in graphic design science. The method in this activity is to provide material and design training using vector and bitmap image processing software, by providing understanding and training about poster graphic design that students can use, starting from providing an understanding of posters, showing what is needed to make a poster, and train how to make posters and how to use posters. The result of this activity is that students understand and are able to make posters and can utilize the posters they make. This activity also provides benefits for the teachers of SMP Negeri 1 Gerung who participated in the training, to be able to implement the knowledge they have to students and the wider community.

Abstract

TikTok has become a highly popular social media platform with a strong appeal among users. Beyond serving as a space for self-expression, TikTok also functions as an important medium for fostering creativity. Therefore, this study aims to explore the influence of TikTok in this regard. The research employs a persuasive communication approach, focusing on three dimensions: cognitive, affective, and conative. Using a quantitative method, data were collected through offline questionnaires completed by 30 Visual Communication Design students from Bumigora University who are active TikTok users. The sample was selected using purposive sampling technique. The analysis results indicate that TikTok has a positive impact in supporting the development of students’ creativity.

Abstract

Kegiatan mewarnai merupakan sarana penting untuk mengembangkan keterampilan motorik halus, kreativitas, dan konsentrasi anak. Namun, observasi awal di bimbingan belajar menunjukkan masih rendahnya kemampuan anak dalam memilih dan memadukan warna, serta ketidakrapian dalam teknik pewarnaan. Pengabdian ini bertujuan meningkatkan keterampilan mewarnai anak melalui penerapan model ATIK (Amati, Tiru, Kerjakan). Metode yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan pendekatan model Kurt Lewin, terdiri dari empat tahap: perencanaan, tindakan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. Penelitian dilakukan dalam dua siklus. Pada siklus pertama, anak-anak diberi penjelasan teori tanpa contoh konkret, sedangkan siklus kedua menerapkan model ATIK dengan demonstrasi langsung. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada siklus kedua, di mana anak-anak mampu meniru contoh, mengombinasikan warna secara harmonis, dan menghasilkan karya lebih rapi. Analisis refleksi mengungkap bahwa pendampingan berbasis observasi dan peniruan efektif meningkatkan keterampilan teknis, namun perlu diimbangi stimulasi kreativitas agar anak tidak hanya terpaku pada contoh. Kontribusi pengabdian ini dapat meningkatkan keterampilan mewarnai anak, khususnya dalam aspek kreativitas dan ketelitian.

Abstract

Program pelatihan desain poster pariwisata di SMK Rahmatullah Al Maarif menggunakan aplikasi coreldraw merupakan bagian dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yang bertujuan untuk memberikan kontribusi positif dalam pengembangan keahlian siswa/i di bidang desain komunikasi visual. Kegiatan ini merupakan hasil kerjasama yang sinergis antara pendidik dan pihak sekolah untuk meningkatkan kompetensi peserta didik dalam bidang desain grafis, khususnya dalam pembuatan desain poster. Tujuan utama dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk mendorong siswa/i agar lebih kreatif dan terampil dalam merancang poster yang efektif dan menarik. Metode yang digunakan dalam pelatihan ini adalah workshop dengan pendekatan pendampingan yang terstruktur. Tahapan dalam pendampingan mencakup pembukaan, pelaksanaan pendampingan, dan evaluasi. Program pelatihan ini menghasilkan pencapaian yang optimal dengan 18 peserta yang berhasil memper oleh peningkatan signifikan baik dari sisi pengetahuan maupun keterampilan praktis dalam desain poster.

Abstract

Goa Lawah in West Lombok holds unique natural and cultural tourism potential, yet remains relatively unknown. A preliminary survey revealed that only 10% of respondents aged 18–25 were aware of this destination, reflecting low brand awareness and limited digital exposure. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of promotional videos in enhancing the visibility of Goa Lawah as a hidden destination. Using a descriptive qualitative approach supported by quantitative data, the study examines visual and narrative elements, as well as audience responses to the video. The findings show that promotional videos effectively communicate natural and cultural appeal while evoking emotional interest. Around 70% of respondents expressed greater interest in visiting after watching the video. These results suggest that cinematic-based promotional media can strengthen the image of local destinations. This research offers an initial contribution to the promotion of hidden destinations in West Nusa Tenggara and adds academic perspective to the study of visual storytelling and destination image formation through digital media. ABSTRAK Goa Lawah di Lombok Barat memiliki potensi wisata alam dan budaya yang unik, namun masih kurang dikenal. Survei awal menunjukkan hanya 10% responden usia 18–25 tahun mengetahui destinasi ini, mencerminkan rendahnya brand awareness dan eksposur digital. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas video promosi dalam meningkatkan visibilitas Goa Lawah sebagai destinasi tersembunyi. Dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dan dukungan data kuantitatif, studi ini mengkaji elemen visual, naratif, dan respons audiens terhadap video. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa video promosi secara efektif menyampaikan daya tarik alam dan budaya serta membangkitkan ketertarikan emosional. Sekitar 70% responden menyatakan minat lebih besar untuk berkunjung setelah menonton video. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa media promosi berbasis sinematik dapat memperkuat citra destinasi lokal. Penelitian ini menjadi kontribusi awal dalam promosi destinasi tersembunyi di NTB dan menambah perspektif akademik dalam kajian storytelling visual dan pembentukan citra pariwisata melalui media digital.

Abstract

This study examines the role of public service announcements as a non-commercial campaign medium with a focus on Tri Hita Karana animated videos. The purpose of this study is to analyze the role of public service announcements as a campaign medium in social marketing communications and to examine the implementation of persuasive communication processes contained in animated videos that represent the philosophical values ​​contained in Tri Hita Karana. The method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative approach, involving a review of documentation and a literature search. The results of the study indicate that public service announcements, as a non-commercial campaign medium, can be an effective strategy for conveying educational messages, increasing public awareness, and encouraging behavioral change. Non-commercial campaigns align with the principles of social marketing, which, in their implementation, aim to promote social values. The implementation of AIDDA (Attention, Interest, Desire, Decision, Action) in animated videos through visual messages, simple narratives that foster interest, delivery of visual narratives about the benefits of harmonious living, and invitations to encourage positive decisions in accordance with the values ​​of Tri Hita Karana. This study contributes to strengthening the understanding of the implementation of persuasive communication processes in Tri Hita Karana animated campaign videos as a strategic communication instrument relevant to social development.
