Abstract

This study investigates the impact of limited swimming experience on students' freestyle swimming skills, with a focus on gender differences. A quasi-experimental design with a pre-test and post-test approach was employed to assess the effectiveness of a swimming training program on 117 male and 10 female students from the Physical Education program at Universitas Garut. The training program, which combined part and whole practice methods, was implemented over an 8-week period. Descriptive statistics, normality tests, and hypothesis testing (Wilcoxon Signed-Ranks Test for male students and paired sample t-test for female students) were used to analyze the data. The results revealed significant improvements in freestyle swimming skills for both male and female groups. For the male group, the mean post-test score increased from 0.00 to 15.70, and for the female group, it increased from 0.00 to 21.20. Statistical analysis confirmed that the improvements were significant for both groups (p < 0.05). When comparing the two groups, the female group showed a greater mean improvement (-21.200) compared to the male group (-15.701), suggesting a more substantial impact of the training on the female participants. Overall, the results of this study indicate that the part practice and whole practice approaches have a significant impact on improving freestyle swimming skills in students with limited swimming experience. This suggests that at the university level, students have a better ability to learn and develop swimming skills more quickly compared to younger age groups. These findings show that although students have limited swimming experience, their adaptive learning abilities allow them to quickly master basic swimming skills, highlighting the potential for effective skill development.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the impact of catching training on increasing the reaction speed of futsal goalkeepers. The method used was an experiment with a pretest-posttest design. The population of this study was futsal goalkeepers at a local club, and the sample used consisted of 10 futsal goalkeepers who were selected purposively. The instrument used to collect data was a reaction speed test. The data analysis technique used was descriptive analysis and t-test to compare pretest and posttest results. The results showed that there was a significant increase in the reaction speed of futsal goalkeepers after participating in the catching training program, with an average pretest result of 37.14 and posttest of 72.86. the average score of goalkeeper reaction speed was 37.14, with the lowest score of 20 and the highest of 60. Comparison of the average between pretest and posttest showed a difference of 35.72 points. there was a significant increase of 35.72 points in the average reaction speed ability of goalkeepers after being given treatment. The conclusion of this study is that catching exercises can significantly improve the reaction speed of futsal goalkeepers. Therefore, this exercise is recommended to be applied in the routine training program of futsal goalkeepers to improve their performance in matches.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the implementation of the peer teaching model in increasing students' active participation in learning (PJOK). This study used a quasi-experimental method with a pretest and posttest control group design. The population of this study were 8th grade students at MTs Al-Musaddadiyah Garut consisting of 60 students. The research sample was taken by random sampling, with two groups consisting of an experimental group taught with a peer teaching model and a control group taught with conventional methods. The data collection instrument used was a student active participation questionnaire which included four aspects of emotional involvement, cognitive involvement, behavioral involvement, and social involvement. The data analysis technique used statistical tests to compare pretest and posttest results between groups. The results showed a significant difference in the active participation of students taught with the peer teaching model compared to students taught with conventional methods. Students' active participation increased by 25.25%, The average difference between the two groups was 34.10 with a 95% confidence interval between 31.07 and 37.13. The application of peer teaching model is proven to be effective in increasing students' active participation in learning PJOK, especially in terms of physical involvement, social interaction, and material understanding.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of varied exercises in improving volleyball top serve skills. The main problem in this study is the low level of accuracy, strength, and consistency of the upper serve movement caused by monotonous training methods. This study used a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest pre-experiment design. The population of this study were all students who participated in volleyball extracurricular activities at SMAN 17 Garut, with a sample of 20 male students using non-probability sampling technique. The instrument used in data collection is the upper serve skill test. The data analysis technique used is the descriptive statistics test and paired sample t-test. The results of the average value of prettes amounted to 19.80 and posttes 32.30. with a selisia of 12.5. The total value of student serves ranged from 15 to 23 with an average of about 19.6. After being given varied exercises, the scores on the final test (posttest) increased to range from 30 to 35 with an average of about 32.2. This increase reflects the improvement of students' abilities in terms of accuracy, strength, and consistency of the upper serve. Thus, varied exercises can be used as an effective strategy in learning volleyball, especially to optimize the upper serve technique at the high school level.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini dilakukan guna menguji efektivitas pendekatan permainan edukatif dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa pada pembelajaran PJOK. Metode yang diterapkan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain pra-eksperimen tipe one group pretest-posttest, melibatkan 25 siswa kelas VIII-B SMPN 1 Sucinaraja. Instrumen berupa angket motivasi dianalisis secara deskriptif dan inferensial. Hasil studi mengindikasikan peningkatan skor rata-rata dari 73,32 pada pretest menjadi 82,12 pada posttest, dengan persentase kenaikan sebesar 12,01%. Uji paired sample t-test menghasilkan nilai t-hitung sebesar 9,859 dengan signifikansi 0,000, yang menunjukkan adanya perbedaan signifikan antara sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan. Kesimpulan dari studi ini adalah bahwa pendekatan permainan edukatif efektif dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa, baik dari aspek intrinsik maupun ekstrinsik, serta dapat menghadirkan suasana pembelajaran yang positif dan partisipatif.Kata Kunci: motivasi intrinsik ekstrinsik permainan edukatif, motivasi belajar, PJOKAbstrakThis study aimed to examine the effectiveness of the educational games approach in increasing students' learning motivation in physical education (PJOK). A quantitative method with a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design was used, involving 25 eighth-grade students from SMPN 1 Sucinaraja. The instrument used was a motivation questionnaire, analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The results showed an increase in the average score from 73.32 (pretest) to 82.12 (posttest), with a percentage gain of 12.01%. The paired sample t-test produced a t-value of 9.859 with a significance level of 0.000, indicating a significant difference before and after the treatment. The study concludes that the educational games approach is effective in enhancing students’ motivation to learn, both intrinsically and extrinsically. Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan atas dasar UKM Petanque Uniga dinilai kurang antusias dan kurang tertarik dengan latihan, sehingga proses latihan mandirinyan tidak maksimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh latihan keseimbangan terhadap peningkatan ketepatan shooting UKM Petanque Uniga. Penelitian ini adalah eksperimen semu atau eksperimen kuasi (Quasi Eksperiment) pengambilan data dengan one groups pretest-postest design yaitu eksperimen yang dilakukan hanya pada satu kelompok saja tanpa kelompok pembanding. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes kemampuan shooting permainan petanque . Populasi penelitian ini adalah UKM Petanque Uniga yang berjumlah 15 atlet. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan total sampling, dimana seluruh populasi dijadikan sampel penelitian yaitu 10 Atlet. Teknik analisis data meliputi uji prasyarat yaitu uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, uji linearitas, dan uji t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil perhitungan dengan nilai t hitung > t tabel yaitu 2.84 > 1.8331. Sehingga hipotesis yang menyatakan terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan dari model latihan dengan latihan keseimbangan terhadap peningkatan ketepatan shooting UKM Petanque Uniga

Abstract

Study purpose. This study aims to determine the level of mental toughness of players when competing, this is because one aspect of the team's success is that the players have mental toughness. Materials and methods. This type of research is quantitative descriptive, the population in this study were Karyamukti Village players who participated in the match in the Zone 5 Village League competition in Garut Regency, the number of teams that followed amounted to 25 teams. The sampling technique uses probability sampling. The criteria for determining this sample include: (1) Karyamukti Village players who take part in the village league, (2) are willing to be a sample, and (3) fill out the instrument provided by the researcher in full. The instrument used is Mental Toughness proposed by (Gucciardi et al., 2009). The validity index is -0.135 - 0.729 with a reliability coefficient of 0.9156. Data analysis techniques used using Microsoft Excel applications. Results. The results showed that the results obtained were: the indicator of developing through challenges with an average value of 80.8% was categorized as high, while the indicator of sports awareness with an average value of 72.0% was categorized as high, while the hard attitude indicator with an average value of 79.9% was categorized as high, and the indicator of wanting to succeed with an average value of 79.1% was categorized as high, and the overall result of the level of mental toughness of Karyamukti Village players when competing with an average result of 79.3%. Conclusion. The results were categorized as high. This shows that the hypothesis proposed in this study is accepted.

Abstract

Purpose of study. This study aims to determine the description of body mass index and physical fitness of students of the Al Yumna Banyuresmi Garut Tahfizh Islamic Boarding School, Garut. Materials and methods. The method used was a quantitative descriptive survey, with the technique of the 2019 Department of Education of the Republic of the Philippines physical fitness instrument test. The variables in this study were BMI and Physical Fitness. The sampling technique used a random sampling technique of 57 people consisting of 27 men and 30 women, data collection techniques through the Philippine physical fitness test, BMI with anthropometric measurements, strength with push ups and basic plank, flexibility with zipper test and sit and reach , coordination with juggling test, agility using hexagon agility test, speed with 40 meter sprint test, strength with standing long jump, balance with stork balance test and reaction time speed with stick drop test. Results. The data processing method uses descriptive statistics using Microsoft Excel. For male students, there were 2 people (7.14%) in the underweight category, 5 people (18.52%) in the underweight category, 18 people (66.60%) in the normal category, 1 person (3.70%) in the overweight category, 1 person (3.70%) in the overweight category. As for females, there are 4 people (13.33%) with severe underweight, 2 people (6.66%) with mild underweight, 20 people (66.60%) with normal weight, 1 person (3.33%) with mild overweight and 3 people (10 %) with severe overweight. For men, the physical fitness category is very good as many as 17 people (62.96%), the good category is 10 people (37.03%) and for the category of very good, sufficient and less there are none (0%). Whereas for women the good category was 19 people (63.30%), the sufficient category was 11 people (36.50%). Conclusion. With the largest norm value of 5 for men having an average fitness value of 3.98 and 2.7 for women, the average for men and women is 3.34, this shows that the overall physical fitness of Tahfizh Qur'an Al Yumna Islamic Boarding School students is in the good category.

Abstract

Pendidikan merupakan salah satu cara untuk membangun kreatifitas dan gerak dasar anak. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh modifikasi bola terhadap keterampilan gerak dasar dan bermain siswa SMAN 11 Garut. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitia tindakan kelas. Modifikasi adalah suatu metode untuk membantu menyampaikan suatu proses pembelajaran atau memebrikan tujuan pembelajaran yang akan di berikan kepada peserta didik, modifikasi meliputi bentuk permainan, alat, dan proses pembelajaran lainnya. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa SMAN 11 Garut, sedangkan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 32 siswa.  Penentu sampel dalam penelitian ini, menggunakan teknik cluster sampling. Untuk mengumpulkan data keterampilan bermain bola besar siswa penulis menggunakan observasi, dan untuk mengukur keterampilan bermain sepakbola siswa menggunakan tes game performance assessment instrument (GPAI). Kesimpulan dari hasil pengujian analisis data adalah bahwa modifikasi bola memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap hasil gerak dasar dan permainan siswa dalam cabang olahraga sepak bola, basket, dan voli di SMAN 11 Garut sebesar 90,63%. Dari 32 siswa-siswi yang menjadi subjek penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengaruh modifikasi bola terhadap keterampilan bermain dalam ketiga cabang olahraga tersebut sangat kuat.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu mengetahui Pengaruh metode latihan interval dalam meningkatkan kemampuan daya kemantapan gerak atlet cabang olahraga pencak silat di padepokan putra siliwangi Garut. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan kuantitatif (eksperimen), menggunakan pre-eksperimen dengan one grup pretes-postes sebagai bentuk dari desain penelitiannya. Hasil dari tes interval memiliki rata-rata pretes sebesar 11.92 dan postes sebesar 15.67 dengan persentase peningkatan sebesar100% atau semua atlet mengalami peningkatan. Dari pembahasan tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode latihan interval memberikan dampak yang baik atau meningkat sehingga perlu menjadi sebuah rekomendasi atau sebuah gambaran yang bisa digunakan bagi para guru, pelatih, pembina ekstrakurikuler di sekolah untuk bisa di jadikan acuan bahwasannya penelitian yang memberikan dampak yang sangat baik. Hal ini berdasarkan penelitian yang telah mengkonfirmasi efektivitas metode latihan interval dalam meningkatkan daya tahan fisik atlet, sehingga dapat dijadikan dasar bagi para profesional olahraga untuk merancang program latihan yang sesuai dan efisien bagi para atlet mereka.
