Abstract

Professional nursing services have the class and quality that providing satisfaction on the needs and desires more thancustomers or patients expected. This study aimed to find out the relationship of nurse professionalism and patientsatisfaction which was designed in descriptive correlational by applying cross- sectional approach. The sample in was84 respondents taken by using proportionate random sampling technique by fulfilling the inclusion criteria. Theinstrument used was a questionnaire that the content vailidity has been tested by three experts. The analyses used wereunivariate to know the frequency distribution and bivariate using alternative fisher exact test. The research findingshowed that there was a relationship between nurse profesionalism and patient satisfaction with p value (0,000) < α(0,1). Therefore, it can be concluded from the results of patient satisfaction questionnaires in hospitals that to improvethe quality of service, evaluation of the professional nurse is needed in order to achieve patient satisfication andincrease the quality of service in hospitals.Keyword: nurse, patient satisfactoni, profesionalism

Abstract

Dental carries is a major oral health problem in most countries, affecting majority of schoolchildren. Children in the 6 – 12 year age can be at great risk from dental carries. This could be attributed to poor knowledge and awareness towards oral health.The study was done to find out the correlation between school children level of knowledge regarding prevention and occurrence of dental carries at Payung Sekaki Pekanbaru Public Health Center. A crosssectional correlation research design was used for this study. The subjects consisted of 78 schoolchildren who were selected using purposive sampling method. Structured questionnaire and observation sheet that has been tested for validity were used to collect the data. The results showed that 97.4% of the schoolchildren (76 respondents) had good knowledge regarding the prevention of dental carries, while 60 respondents (76.9%) had the incidence of dental carries. Statistical analysis with Chi-Square test indicated that there was no correlation between school-age knowledge about the prevention of dental carries and the occurrence of dental carries with a p value of 1,000 (> 0.05). Hence, this study may recommend to health workers to promote dental health programs in schools.   Keywords: dental carries, knowledge, prevention, school age

Abstract

AbstractBasic sanitation is the minimum health requirements the family must have to meet their daily needs, that conducted by the communities as a step of preventing disease. Basic sanitation includes clean water supply, disposal of human waste, waste management and wastewater disposal. This research aims identify at the knowledge, attitudes and communities’ practice about basic sanitation in Meranti Pandak, Rumbai Pesisir. This research involves 265 samples that were taken by probability sampling techniques. The analysis used is univariate analysis. The results show that the majority of respondents are 18-35 years old (66.8%), the gender are women (78.9%), the majority of respondents are housewives (70.6%), the background of education is senior high school (39.6%). About 39.6% of the respondents have a good knowledge about basic sanitation, 50.9% of the respondents have positive attitudes towards basic sanitation and 59.6% of the respondents have good practice of basic sanitation. An aspect that need to be improved related to the knowledge about basic sanitation is the aspect of wastewater disposal. With regardes to the attitudes, the aspect of waste managements needs improvement. Based on the results of research, it is expected that public health centers and related health institutions continue to provide education and increase motivation of communities in order to improve the quality of basic sanitation practice. Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this study was to identify factors associated with early complementary feeding in infants. This was a descriptive correlative study with cross sectional design.This research was conducted in the working area of Sidomulyo Public Health Center Pekanbaru involving 92 respondents. The sampling method was purposive sample. Measuring instrument used was a questionnaire that has been tested for validity and reliability. The analysis used univariate and bivariate analysis. The results showed that there is a relationship between knowledge (p value = 0.024),  activity (p value = 0.005), income (value = 0.022) and health workers recommendation (p value = 0.037) with early complementary feeding, but there is no relationship between the myth (p value = 0.141) with early complementary feeding. The results of this study recommends community health centers to be active to provide health education programs for the prevention of early complementary feeding practice in the working area of Sidomulyo Public Health Center.   Keywords: factors, early complementary feeding, infants

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the relationship between family support and tuberculosis drug’s compliance. This was analytic research with cross sectional approach the dynamics of the correlation between the two variables simultaneously at a time. The total number of respondent was 58 choosed by accidental sampling technique with inclusion and exlusion criteria. The instrument was questionnaires with 19 questions that has been tested for validity and reliability. The data were analyzed by univarate and bivariate with chi- square test. The result showed that there was relationship between family support and tuberculosis drug’s compliance with p value=0,036. Based on these results, it is expected to further improve the family members of the family support that affect medication adherence of TB patients. Abstract

Abstract The aim of this research was to identify the comparison of growth and development between toddler who was cared by parents at name and in child care facilities. This research used comparative study design with cross sectional approach and the respondent was chosen using cluster sampling techinique. Total sample in this study was 100 respondents devided in 2 groups of toodlers. The instruments of this research were scales and used to gauges to measure the weight and height, and DDST II form. Chi square test used for growth aspects and mann whitney test used for development aspects. The result of this study showed that is no differences on toddlers growth between parent’s care group and child care group (p value = 0,595 > α (0,05)) and there is differences in the development aspect between 2 groups (p value = 0,012 < α (0,05)) where the toddlers development was a better in child care fasilities group than parent’s care group. It is recommended to parents or surrogate parents to do more optimal stimulation to their kids especially toddlers to improve their growth and development. Abstract

Spiritual can increase immune system physically or mentally, and anxiety in students can be prevented by upgrading their spiritual level. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of spiritual levels and anxiety of final grade students in completing thesis. The design of this study was descriptive correlation with cross-sectional approach. This research was conducted at Faculty of Nursing University of Riau with 115 respondents that were taken based on inclusion criteria using total sampling technique. The research instrument used were questionnaires that have been tested by validity and realibility test. Data was analyzed by univariate analysis to determine the frequency distribution and bivariate analysis with chi-square test. The results of this study showed that there were 49 respondents who had moderate spiritual level with low anxiety level (42, 6%). According to bivariate test analysis there was no significant relationship between the spiritual level and the anxiety of final grade students in completing that thesis with p value (0.119) > α (0.05). So that it can be concluded that there was no colleration between spiritual level and the anxiety of the final level students in preparing the thesis. Based on the result, it is suggested that students may improve their spirituality level and reduce anxiety when preparing a thesis. Keywords: Anxiety, Spiritual, Students

Abstract

Abstract The aim of this research is to identify the correlation of spiritual states and quality of life in the elderly. The research uses descriptive correlation design with cross sectional approach. The sampling technique is cluster sampling where respondents selected based on inclusion criteria. The research uses the questionnaires as instrument that have already been tested for validity and reliability. This research uses univariate analysis with frequency distribution and bivariate analysis with chi squre test. The results show that the respondents with high spiritual states and  have good quality of life are 32 respondents (33%) and 19 respondents (19,6%) show bad quality of life. The result for respondents who have low spiritual states and good quality of  life are 18 respondents (18,6%) and 28 respondents (28,9%) show bad quality of life. The result of statistic test with chi square test show p value = 0,02 < α = 0,05. It is concluded that there is significant correlation between spiritual states and quality of life. Based on the result of this study, it is suggested to family to care for elderly people and give optimal support elderly to increase quality of life of elderly. Abstract

Exclusive breastfeeding role to optimize growth and development of infant. Breastfeeding mothers require breastfeeding self-efficacy which refers to the mother's confidence in the ability to breastfeed her infant. Mothers need family support to increase breastfeeding self- efficacy. The aim of this research was to identify the relationship between family support with the breastfeeding self-efficacy of mother in giving exclusive breastfeeding. The design was descriptive correlational research with cross sectional approach. The samples were 80 breastfeeding mothers with infants aged 0-6 months using purposive sampling. This research used questionnaire that already tested for validity and reliability. This research using univariate and bivariate analysis with chi-square test. The result showed that p value was 0.000 (p value <0,05), accordingly it can be concluded that there is relation of family support to breastfeeding self efficacy of mother in giving exclusive breastfeeding. This study finds that providing families support for mothers to succeed in providing exclusive breastfeeding.  Keywords:  Breastfeeding self-efficacy, Family support

Abstract

The rates of adolescent dropout from school is still high enough until now. This phenomenon will affect adolescent selfdevelopment include the development of self-concept. Peer has a big influence on the development of adolescent selfconcept especially adolescent who live in the social institution. This study aims to determine the correlation between peer support with self-concept in the adolescent drop out of school with descriptive design correlation and cross sectional approach. The sample of this research is 70 respondents. The samples are taken by a total sampling technique. This measurement tool have been tested valid and reliable. The result of valid and reliable test to peer support questionnaire that is (r of count is 0,466-0,865) dan (alpha value > r table is 0,933 > 0,444) and result of valid and reliable test to self-concept questionnaire that is (r of count is 0,322-0,737) dan (alpha value > r table is 0,937 > 0,312). The analysis used is univariate analysis used descriptive test to know frequency distribution of respondent characteristics and bivariate analysis of used is a chi-square test to know correlation between peer support and selfconcept in the adolescent drop out from school. The result showed that there is a significant correlation between peer support and self-concept in the adolescent drop out from school with (p-value 0,002< 0,05: OR = 4,752). Adolescent dropout from school should develop mutually supportive relationships with peer group so that to always the formation of positive self-concept.  Keywords: Adolescent dropout of school, peer support, self-concept.
