Abstract

Global delayed development (GDD) is a developmental disorder in children characterized by delays in gross motor development. Gross motor development is based on the development of an optimal midline position, and in GDD this does not happen. This reseaarch objective to determine the effect of midline exercise therapy on improving gross motor skills in children with GDD at Haji Hospital Surabaya. This is experimental research purposive sampling research on 15 GDD children at RSUD Haji Surabaya with a one-group pre and post-test design. Midline exercise therapy is carried out twice a week for 6 weeks consisting of relaxing the neck extensors, adjusting the position to the middle of the body, and cortical level exercises. Tool for measuring children's gross motor skills with GMFM (gross motor functional measurement) sector A/lying down with scale 0-51 measured pre and post treatment. Data analysis with univariate and bivariate SPSS. For the results 3 subjects were boy and 12 girl with an average age of 13.1 months. There was an increase in the mean GMFM score from 4.2 to 6 (paired t-test p=0.000) after 12 physiotherapy sessions.

Abstract

Cerebral palsy (CP) is a disorder of posture and movement control in children during growth and development. One of the problems in children with CP is impaired sitting balance which results in weakness of hand function such as holding and manipulating objects. Objective: to determine the effect of abdominal core stability exercise therapy on improving sitting balance and functional hand abilities of children with CP at YPCP Surabaya. Method: an experimental study with one treatment group, the study's population consisted of 20 children with cerebral palsy (CP) who were in the sitting training phase at YPCP Surabaya. Using purposive sampling with specific inclusion and exclusion criteria, 18 participants were selected from the group. The treatment was abdominal core stability exercise therapy consisting of myofascial release of back muscles, trunk mobilization, sitting upright on a bench with feet on the floor, and moving toys with both hands in an upright sitting position. Exercise therapy was carried out for 30 minutes 3x per week for 12 weeks. The measuring instrument for sitting balance was TCMS (trunk control measurement scale) and the hand function was Melbourne Assessment 2. Result: 18 children with CP in the sitting exercise phase (12 boys and 6 girls) with an average age of 4.1 ± 1 years. The mean static sitting balance increased from 2.7 to 14.1 (p=0.000), the mean dynamic sitting balance rose from 0.00 to 3.3 (p=0.000), the mean reactive balance increased from 0.0 to 0.5 (p=0.3) and the mean functional hand ability increased from 6 to 7.4 (p=0.001). Conclusion: Abdominal core stability exercise therapy improves static, dynamic sitting balance and functional hand ability in children with CP at YPCP Surabaya, but not reactive balance.

Abstract

Cerebral Palsy (CP) is a permanent disorder in the development of movement and posture in children. One of the movement problems in children with CP is stiffness of the soleus muscle which results in a tiptoe position. This position will make it difficult for the child to stand and walk, thereby reducing the child's functional and movement abilities. This research was conducted to determine the effect of providing foot core stability training therapy on increasing the range of motion of the ankle dorsi flexion joint and increasing the functional ability to walk in children with CP. This research is a field experimental one group pre and post test design. The sample was 15 children with CP at the AzZaki inclusion foundation in Surabaya, who were given foot core stability exercise therapy intervention 10 times in a row for 10 days. The ankle dorsiflexion range of motion was measured with a gonometer and functional walking ability with GMFM (gross motor function measurement). Research Results is there was a mean increase in ankle LGS towards dorsi flexion of 3.2° (p=0.001) and a mean increase in walking ability with GMFM measurements of 11.2% (p=0.00).

Abstract

Kesehatan ibu selama kehamilan amatlah penting karena akan berdampak pada janin yang akan dilahirkan. Yang dimaksud kesehatan ini adalah kesehatan secara komprehensif yaitu menyangkut kesehatan fisik ibu, kesehatan psikologis, sosial dan spiritual. Apabila salah satu dari aspek tersebut tidak terpenuhi maka akan berdampak pada janin yang dikandungnya. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah dengan membentuk forum yang terdiri dari anggota ‘Aisyiyah Cabang Purwoharjo dan ibu hamil. Jumlah peserta yang hadir dalam kegiatan tersebut adalah 25 orang. Kegiatan ini diawali dengan pengisian kuisioner pretest oleh peserta yang hadir terkait keluhan yang dirasakan selama kehamilan dan terapi komplementer. Kemudian pemaparan materi dan praktik, dan diakhiri dengan posttest. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perubahan pengetahuan peserta pengabdian kepada masyarakat sebelum dan setelah diberikan penyuluhan tentang terapi komplementer. Setelah mengikuti kegiatan pengetahuan peserta 80% baik dan 20% cukup. Kesimpulan dari kegiatan ini dapat memberikan manfaat bagi peserta kader dan ibu hamil dalam mengurangi keluhan yang dirasakan pada ibu hamil dengan menerapkan terapi komplementer.

Abstract

Cerebral palsy (CP) is a condition of movement and function disorders in children that requires continuous physiotherapy. One factor in the successful development of children with CP is the existence of a home program/independent therapy carried out by parents at home. In providing the home program, physiotherapists at YPCP Surabaya gave leaflets to parents. However, this was less effective because it was easily damaged, so the home program media was replaced with video. The effectiveness of both in increasing parental compliance in carrying out the home program every day is not yet known. Objective: to find out the difference in parental compliance in carrying out a home program between using leaflet media or video media. Method: 20 parents of children with CP were randomly divided into leaflet groups and video groups, 10 people each. Each person is monitored for compliance in carrying out the home program for 1 week (7 days). Measurement of compliance with checklists every day. Results: parents in the video media group were more compliant in carrying out the home program than parents in the leaflet media group. Conclusion: video media is more effective in increasing the compliance of parents of children with CP in carrying out home programs compared to leaflet media.

Abstract

Program Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini bertujuan untuk memberdayakan guru-guru PAUD di Surabaya agar mampu mengimplementasikan program terapi latihan abdominal core stability sebagai bagian rutin kegiatan sekolah, guna meningkatkan postur tegak anak PAUD sebagai langkah preventif gangguan postur. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan melalui metode Training of Trainers (ToT) dan sosialisasi interaktif selama dua hari di Graha PAUD, Surabaya, dengan melibatkan 248 guru PAUD. Metode pelaksanaan menggabungkan presentasi edukatif untuk transfer ilmu dasar teori dan hands-on training (termasuk simulasi role-play) untuk penguasaan keterampilan praktik. Teknik analisis data menggunakan perbandingan skor pre-test dan post-test yang dianalisis menggunakan uji T berpasangan untuk mengukur peningkatan pengetahuan, serta lembar observasi keterampilan praktik untuk menilai kompetensi mengajar. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan teoritis yang signifikan, terbukti dari kenaikan rata-rata nilai post-test sebesar 216% (p < 0,05), menegaskan keberhasilan metode transfer ilmu. Selain itu, penguasaan keterampilan praktik guru mencapai rata-rata skor 4,3 dari skala 5 (kategori "baik sekali"), membuktikan bahwa guru memiliki kapasitas motorik dan komunikasi yang memadai untuk menjadi pelatih gerakan abdominal core stability di unit kerja masing-masing. Simpulan dari kegiatan ini adalah bahwa model ToT fisioterapi telah berhasil secara efektif membentuk fondasi stabilitas otot core pada anak usia dini melalui pemberdayaan guru yang kompeten, menjadikannya solusi preventif primer yang berkelanjutan terhadap masalah disfungsi postur.
