Abstract

Population growth and changes in consumption patterns have led to fish consumption tends to increase. Salted fish agroindustry have a good perspective, so that there is a necessary effort to improve the quality and guaranted supply to meet the needs of consumers who continue to increase. The purpose of research was to analyze the characteristics of entrepreneurs and profile of salted fish agroindustry, to know the use of factors of production and technology, to analyze cost of production, revenue, efficiency, and value added, and to recognize channels and marketing functions, costs, margins and marketing efficiency. The research was conducted by using a survey method with a number of sample of 10 entrepreneurs which was selected purposively. In addition, the amound of 3 wholesalers and 2 retailers were selected. The results showed that the entrepreneurs aged 44 years, received 9 years of education, had 8 years experience with 3 family members on average, and the businesses used their own capital. The production cost ranged from Rp 4,179,982.99 to Rp 6,795,417.42, yield ranged from 566.91 kg to 1,319.23 kg, net income ranged from Rp 4,045,566.25 to Rp 6,396,882.58, and efficiency ranged from 1.75 to 1.94 on average. The salted fish was marketed through two marketing channels and the second channel was the most efficient.

Abstract

The objective of this research was to analysis the finantial performance of Village Unit Cooperation according to rentability ratio, solvability ratio, liquidity ratio and activity ratio. This research was conducted on KUD Manuggal Abadi in Lestari Tapung Village from June to October 2014. The results showed that the operating income ratio of KUD Manunggal Lestari was able to reduce operatig costs. The rate of return on investment; the ability of KUD to manage capital for get profit was relative bad. The rate of return for the owners showed that the capital owned cooperation was not sufficient rentable in get net wealth. The solvability atio showed that the debt total to equity ratio; the finantial performance of KUD was less solvable in paying indebtedness and the debt total to total of asset capital of KUD in long term was not able to ensure safety for creditor. The liquidity ratio showed that KUD is availabe on liquit condition dan the effectivity ratio KUD Manuggal Abadi is good condition. The ratio of cost of goods sold on sales and operational charge on sales were good.

Abstract

In modern community, the healthy llife pattern has become one of quality standards. The healthy life pattern can be begun to consumer organic vegetables. The organic vegetable is produced by utilizing organic matters without using synthetic chemicals. The purpose of research was to examine factors affecting consumer demand on organic vegetables and to analyze the relationship between social economic factors (age, education level, family member and consumer income) and purchasing decision of organic vegetables. The survey sites was chosen in Pekanbaru City, namely Mall SKA, Mall Ciputra, and Fruit Market and conducted on December 2014. The results showed that factors affecting significantly on consumer demand of organic vegetables was price, while price of inorganics vegetable, income, family member, and dummy had not significantly influence on consumer demand of organic vegetable. Factors, like age, education, income, and family member, had no relationship with consumer decision in consuming organic vegetables.
