Abstract

The preparation of adaptive learning models for children with special needs is important because nowadays there is no policy set out in providing appropriate education services based on their specific needs. The slow learner inclusivity type is currently could be accommodated in regular schools. Therefore, this study aims to develop a model of learning services for slow learners. Using research and development methods, we conducted qualitative analysis for model preparation and quantitative analysis to analyze its effectiveness. The curriculum adaptation service model used is substitution. The results of the trials showed that there was a significant average difference before and after the implementation. Providing learning services with this model can make children better at responding to conversations and working with others, able to do independent activities, and able to control concentration in learning. These results require more operational policy support so that they can be implemented more easily.

Abstract

Project-based learning is used as a reference for developing the ability to create and update because it is seen as having characteristics that effectively direct students to investigate essential ideas and questions, framed through the discovery process, able to accommodate the different needs and interests of students, directing freedom in making products or services and presentations that exceed what the teacher hopes, requires the ability to think creatively, critical thinking, the ability of information to find and write conclusions and present material, and relate to real and authentic problems and the latest issues. Multimedia is a medium for delivering information that contains complete material because it presents the material in writing and is equipped with videos and evaluation tools. The next difference is self-regulation as the variable studied in addition to learning outcomes. The results showed that project-based learning improved student learning outcomes, as evidenced by the Wilcoxon test results with a significance value = < 0.05. Learning outcomes shown from knowledge tests and performance tests are influenced not only by the students' ability to practice based on the theory being learned but also by their ability to self-regulate (self-regulation). The correlation between self-regulation and knowledge learning outcomes is 0.465, and the correlation between self-regulation and practical learning outcomes is 0.890, with the significance of each test of 0.000 < 0.05. It shows that the learning outcomes of cooling system knowledge and practices are influenced by self-regulation. Project-based learning tools assisted with multimedia are effective as a learning model for class XI students of light vehicle engineering at Public Vocational High Schools in Semarang City are classified as valid. Multimedia-assisted project-based learning is effective as a learning model for class XI students of light vehicle engineering at Public Vocational High Schools in Semarang City. This multimedia-assisted project-based learning can improve learning outcomes, achieve completeness and be better than project-based learning. Self-regulation affects class XI students' learning outcomes of light vehicle engineering at Public Vocational High Schools in Semarang City.

Abstract

A training which is packaged and managed theoretically and practically will produce an effective training concept. Such training will facilitate the achievement of the expected goals. A training which starts from the planning, organizing, coordinating, implementing and evaluation will be carried out effectively if it meets the requirements, namely clear objectives, based on needs, based on the data results of mapping and competency tests, conductedregularly and periodically, budget savings, easy to be implemented and disseminated, and followed by monitoring and evaluation. Training effectiveness related to professional competence of teachers is a training which is able to produce a comprehensible figure of teacher and is able to provide materials for behavioral change to carry out their duties at school. The provided training is not only for refreshment, but also to nurture and develop the potential and competency of teachers when carrying out their tasks. Training is given not merely because of obligatory program or pursuing the budget spending target, but it is actually used to form a professional teacher. Therefore, a training needs to be managed from beginning to end. Training even should involve various stakeholders so that the training can be used as a regular program to improve the quality of teachers.

Abstract

The current implementation of character education has not fully succeeded in establishing the character of Indonesian people, especially high school students. The purpose of this study is to develop a holistic model of character education management for high school that can be used to enhance character education implementation in high school in Pemalang Regency. This study employed qualitative approach, starting from the preliminary stage of research and development until the test of feasibility. The variables in this study are: 1) the principal, 2) the vice principal of curriculum, 3) the subject teachers and guidance and counseling staffs, 4) head of administration, 5) parents, and 6) the school committee. The results of preliminary study show that: 1) the implementation of character education in high school in Pemalang Regency is still lacking, 2) The teaching of character education only focuses on the aspects of intellectuality, 3) All components consisting of the principal, vice-principal of curriculum, subject teachers, counseling and guidance, head of the administration, parents, and school committee still implement the character education partially, 4) an alternative solution in the development of a holistic model of character education management in high school in Pemalang Regency is needed. From these results, the lacking of character education is caused by the teachers who only pay attention to the cognitive aspect, and ignore the affective, psychomotor, and spiritual aspects of learners. In fact, students should be fostered intellectually, physically, spiritually, and affectively, involving the integration from the principal, vice principal of curriculum affairs, vice principal of student affairs, subject teachers, counseling staffs, heads of administration, parents and school committees. This is consistent with a holistic model approach.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the model of academic supervision for the Early Childhood Education (PAUD) that has been implemented so far. The research subjects consist of supervisors, principals, and teachers of the early childhood education in the municipality of Semarang. Data were drawn using interviews, questionnaires, and documentary studies. The data were then analyzed employing descriptive analysis. This research used non-probability sampling technique with purposive sampling. The results show that the supervisory activities carried out during this time were still separated from the elements of supervision, there has been no collaboration between supervisors, principals, and teachers in the planning, implementation, method, and follow-up activities. During this period of time, the supervisors performed their duties based on work programs that had been designed without any input which was needed by the teacher, and there was no opportunity to inform obstacles during the learning process and there was no communication with the supervisor. This has made the supervision activities were not on the basis of the teachers’ problems but rather on the basis of the academic supervision activity for the PUD there is no good cooperation and communication between the supervisor, principal, and teacher; the supervision is still separated and there is no collaboration. It is recommended to realize the need for the development of collaborative-based supervision model in PAUD institutions so that the supervision activities are in accordance with the needs of teachers in learning.
