Abstract

IDENTIFICATION OF STUDENTS' LEARNING MOTIVATION TOWARDS CHEMISTRY LEARNING USING THE PBL-BASED NEARPOD APPLICATION AND CHEMO EDUTAIMENTThis study aims to identify students' learning motivation in chemistry learning using the Nearpod application integrated with Problem-Based Learning (PBL) and the Chemo Edutainment approach. Chemistry is often considered a difficult subject because the material is abstract, full of calculations, and requires high analytical skills. This condition makes many students less motivated and inactive in the learning process. Therefore, a learning model is needed that can increase student motivation, interest, and engagement through a more interactive and enjoyable learning experience. The research method used is a quantitative method with data collection through a learning motivation questionnaire. The questionnaire instrument covers several important aspects, namely intrinsic motivation, interest in the material, curiosity, confidence in understanding concepts, and student learning efforts during the learning process. The integration of Nearpod in learning allows teachers to present chemistry content digitally through interactive quizzes, experimental videos, simulations, and direct collaboration. Meanwhile, PBL provides opportunities for students to solve authentic problems, and Chemo Edutainment presents educational entertainment elements such as animations and engaging visual experiments. The results show that the use of Nearpod combined with PBL and Chemo Edutainment significantly increases student learning motivation. This is evident in increased active participation, student enthusiasm for each activity, and deeper understanding of concepts. These findings demonstrate that utilizing digital technology and innovative learning methods can be an effective solution for improving motivation and the quality of chemistry learning in schools.

Abstract

IDENTIFICATION OF CHEMISTRY EDUCATION STUDENTS' ARGUMENTATION ABILITIES IN ANALYTICAL CHEMISTRY PRACTICESThis study aims to determine the argumentation skills of Chemistry Education students in Analytical Chemistry laboratory activities. The research employed both quantitative and qualitative approaches with a sample of Chemistry Education students. Data on argumentation skills were collected through post-test assessments and group discussions, then analyzed based on the categories of very high, high, moderate, low, and very low. The results showed that 18.18% of students had very high argumentation skills, 31.82% had high argumentation skills, 22.73% had moderate argumentation skills, 13.64% had low argumentation skills, and 13.64% had very low argumentation skills. These findings indicate a variation in students’ argumentation abilities, with the majority falling into the high category; however, some students still need to improve their argumentation skills. This study highlights the importance of implementing argumentation-based laboratory guides to foster the development of critical thinking and systematic argumentation skills among all students.

Abstract

Hasil belajar merupakan indikator penting yang digunakan untuk menilai keberhasilan proses pembelajaran dan kualitas pendidikan di sekolah. Salah satu faktor internal yang berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar adalah kebiasaan belajar, yaitu pola perilaku belajar yang dilakukan siswa secara konsisten melalui pengelolaan waktu, strategi memahami materi, serta ketekunan menyelesaikan tugas akademik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kebiasaan belajar dengan hasil belajar siswa kelas XI IPA F1 di SMAN 9 Kota Jambi. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian korelasional. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 36 siswa yang dipilih menggunakan teknik sampel jenuh. Instrumen penelitian terdiri atas angket kebiasaan belajar dan dokumentasi nilai hasil belajar. Teknik analisis data meliputi uji normalitas dan uji korelasi Pearson. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan signifikan antara kebiasaan belajar dan hasil belajar dengan koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,581 yang termasuk kategori sedang dan berarah positif. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya pembinaan kebiasaan belajar untuk meningkatkan prestasi akademik siswa.

Abstract

Latar belakang: Kemajuan media sosial yang semakin intens telah memengaruhi kebiasaan belajar mahasiswa, termasuk munculnya fenomena Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) yang berpotensi mengganggu fokus serta pengaturan waktu belajar. Tujuan: untuk mengetahui sejauh mana FOMO berkaitan pada kemampuan manajemen waktu dan efektivitas belajar mahasiswa Pendidikan Kimia Universitas Jambi. Metode: menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif dengan kuesioner tertutup yang disebarkan melalui Google Form kepada 30 mahasiswa. Instrumen penelitian mencakup 21 pernyataan berskala Likert yang menilai tingkat FOMO, pengelolaan waktu belajar, dan efektivitas belajar. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara deskriptif untuk melihat kecenderungan persentase tiap variabel. Hasil: penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 47% responden tidak mengalami mengalami kecemasan digital. Sementara itu, 54% responden tidak setuju manajemen waktu belajar dan efektivitas belajar mereka yang baik dan buruk berkaitan dengan FOMO. Kesimpulan: bahwa FOMO memang memiliki keterkaitan dengan manajemen waktu dan efektivitas belajar, tetapi tidak menjadi faktor dominan yang menentukan keberhasilan akademik. Mahasiswa masih mampu beradaptasi dengan lingkungan digital dan tetap menjaga performa belajar secara optimal.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the level of student motivation in learning acid-base material through the application of the STEM learning method enriched with Lumio interactive tools at SMA Negeri 11 Muaro Jambi. The method used is quantitative descriptive, involving students of class XI F1A as subjects. Information was collected using learning motivation questionnaire, which covered aspects such as learning independence, interest in acid-base topics, conceptual understanding, and enthusiasm during the learning process. From the analysis, the highest motivation score was 136 (Xmax), while the lowest was 116 (Xmin), with an ideal average of 126 (Mi) and an ideal standard deviation of 3.33 (SBi). Based on interval calculations, student motivation was categorized into five levels: Very High (if X > 130.99), High (127.67–130.99), Moderate (124.33–127.67), Low (121.01–124.33), and Very Low (if X < 121.01). The distribution results show that 50% of students are in the High category, 20% in Medium, 20% in Low, and 10% in Very Low. These findings indicate that the application of Lumio in STEM learning has a positive impact on increasing student learning motivation, as this interactive method is also effective in strengthening conceptual understanding and increasing interest in chemistry lessons.

Abstract

Media pembelajaran interaktif berkontribusi mendorong motivasi belajar serta pemahaman pelajar, terutama materi system koloid yang memiliki karakter abstrak dan kompleks. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan e-booklet interaktif berbantuan flipbook berorientasi kemampuan berpikir kritis, serta menilai tingkat kelayakannya baik secara konseptual melalui validasi ahli media serta materi, maupun dengan prosedur berdasarkan penilaian guru serta serta tanggapan siswa. Pendekatan R&D berdasarkan model pengembangan Lee & Owens. Langka analisis, perancangan, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui angket dan wawancara, yang selanjutnya dianalisis menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media yang dikembangkan memperoleh skor kelayakan sebesar 4,50 dari ahli media dan 4,26 dari ahli materi, yang termasuk dalam kategori sangat layak. Selain itu, penilaian guru kimia menunjukkan nilai rata-rata 4,62, sementara hasil respon siswa pada uji coba satu-satu mencapai 91,7% dan pada uji kelompok kecil sebesar 93,1%, keduanya termasuk kategori sangat layak. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa e-booklet interaktif berbantuan flipbook yang berorientasi pada kemampuan berpikir kritis layak digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran kimia di tingkat SMA.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian pengembangan bahan ajar e-LKPD terintegrasi Contextual Teaching and Learning berbantuan Augmented Reality pada materi struktur atom yang berorientasi pada minat belajar siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan e-LKPD terintegrasi CTL berbantuan AR, mengetahui tingkat kelayakan produk berdasarkan penilaian ahli materi, ahli media, dan guru, serta mengetahui respon siswa terhadap e-LKPD yang dikembangkan ditinjau dari minat belajar siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan yang menggunakan model Lee dan Owens yang meliputi tahap analisis, desain, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Instrumen penelitian meliputi lembar wawancara, angket validasi ahli materi dan ahli media, angket penilaian guru, serta angket respon siswa. Produk yang dikembangkan divalidasi oleh ahli materi dan ahli media, kemudian dinilai oleh guru dan diuji cobakan pada kelompok kecil. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis data kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Analisis data kualitatif digunakan untuk mengolah hasil wawancara serta saran dan masukan dari para ahli dan guru sebagai dasar perbaikan produk. Analisis data kuantitatif digunakan untuk mengolah skor hasil validasi, penilaian guru, dan respon siswa menggunakan skala penilaian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa e-LKPD memperoleh rerata skor validasi ahli materi sebesar 4,4 dan ahli media sebesar 4,45 dengan kategori sangat layak. Penilaian guru menunjukkan rerata skor 4,45 dengan kategori sangat layak, sedangkan respon siswa memperoleh persentase 88,72% dengan kategori sangat baik. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, e-LKPD terintegrasi CTL berbantuan AR layak digunakan sebagai bahan ajar kimia dan berpotensi menumbuhkan minat belajar siswa.

Abstract

Education is a key factor in shaping students' character and competence. The 2013 Curriculum highlights not only the development of student character but also the enhancement of scientific competence, including science process skills (SPS). One effective approach to developing SPS is through the application of inquiry-based learning models. This study investigates the differences in students' SPS on acid-base topics by comparing the use of structured inquiry and guided inquiry models. The research employed a random sampling technique, and data were collected using observation sheets and field notes. Field notes were analyzed qualitatively to support and enrich the interpretation of observational and quantitative findings. The quantitative data, obtained from essay-based tests, were analyzed using inferential statistics such as the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, homogeneity test, independent t-test, paired t-test, and N-Gain to evaluate learning improvement in both groups. The effectiveness of each model was determined based on the increase in N-Gain scores from pretest to posttest. The results revealed that inquiry-based learning significantly improved students' SPS, with an increase in the average score from 35.18 to 78.33. Additionally, observation data indicated a steady increase in students’ engagement and participation throughout the learning sessions, highlighting the benefits of inquiry approaches in science education.

Abstract

Ethnochemistry examines the relationship between cultural practices and modern chemical concepts, one of which is the preservation of salted fish by the people of Sibolga, North Sumatra. This study aims to analyze the local wisdom of salted fish preservation in relation to the concepts of osmotic pressure and food chemistry and its potential as a contextual chemistry learning. The research method uses a qualitative approach with a literature study design through searching and reviewing written sources, with the object of study being the salted fish preservation practices of the Sibolga people. Data were collected through documentation and analyzed using content analysis. The results of the study indicate that the process of salting and drying fish creates hypertonic conditions that trigger osmosis, reduce water content, inhibit the growth of microorganisms, and affect the texture and shelf life of the fish. The conclusion of the study shows that the salted fish preservation practices of the Sibolga people reflect the integration of local wisdom with modern chemical concepts and have the potential to be used as a source of local culture-based chemistry learning.

Abstract

Kondisi pembelajaran kimia hijau disekolah saat ini masih berpusat pada guru, yang mengakibatkan literasi sains dan pencapaian hasil belajar murid belum tergarap secara maksimal. Selain itu, kurangnya media ajar yang bersifat kontekstual serta berorientasi pada penyelesaian masalah menghambat siswa dalam mengaitkan konsep materi kimia hijau dengan fenomena kehidupan sehari-hari. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) berbasis Problem Based Learning (PBL) pada materi kimia hijau berorientasi literasi sains dan hasil belajar, serta menguji kelayakan dan respon siswa. Penelitian produk ini menerapkan metode Research and Development (R&D) dengan model Lee & Owens, meliputi tahapan analisis kebutuhan, desain, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Hasil uji validasi memperlihatkan tingkat kelayakan yang sangat tinggi, yakni 95% dari ahli media, 92% dari ahli materi, dan 88% dari guru, yang dikategorikan sangat layak. Respon siswa dalam uji coba juga tercatat sangat baik, yakni 91,52 pada uji satu-satu (one to one trial) dan 90,67% pada uji coba kelompok kecil (small group trial) yang menunjukan bahwa LKPD terbukti layak dan dapat dijadikan altenatif media pembelajaran yang efektif.
