Abstract

This research aimed to determine the relationship between age, gender, education level, employment status, and comorbidities with nutritional status in hemodialysis patients. It employed a cross-sectional design. The population consisted of end-stage renal disease outpatients undergoing hemodialysis, totaling 84 respondents aged 19‒59 years. The sampling method utilized was simple random sampling. This research was conducted from October to November 2024. Nutritional status was measured using the Subjective Global Assessment (SGA) questionnaire. Statistical tests employed included chi-square and logistic regression analyses. The statistical results indicated a significant relationship between employment status and nutritional status, comorbidity and nutritional status in hemodialysis patients (p<0.05). No significant relationships were found between age, gender, and education level with nutritional status among hemodialysis patients (p>0.05). The factors associated with nutritional status among hemodialysis patients are comorbidity (OR=6.618; 95% CI:2.124–20.619, p<0.05) and employment status (OR=5.887; 95% CI:1.585–21.870, p<0.05). Malnutrition is closely related to the presence of comorbidities in hemodialysis patients; therefore, it is crucial to treat and manage comorbidities to prevent the progression of malnutrition in this population. Health workers in the hemodialysis department should pay more attention to the nutritional status of patients who are unemployed.

Abstract

Rubber is a widely cultivated plantation commodity, but the volatility of rubber prices poses a problem for farmers, as it affects the ability to meet food demands in terms of both quantity and quality. The motivation behind this study was to analyze the level of food security and the quality of household food consumption of rubber farmers in Tulang Bawang Udik Sub district, West Tulang Bawang Regency. This study used survey method with a sample of forty-eight rubber farming households from two villages with land areas of less than one hectare, selected by simple random sampling. Food security was measured by cross-classification between the proportion of food expenditure and the level of household energy consumption. Calculation of household food expenditure was based on a monthly period, while the energy consumption level used the actual energy consumption indicator together with the energy consumption indicators obtained by the recall method. The quality of food consumption patterns was  analyzed by determining the PPH score.  Computation of the PPH score was acquired by contrasting the genuine AKE score with the standardizing PPH (100). The outcomes show that the results of the cross-classification of energy sufficiency and the proportion of food expenditure are acquired from the four categories of rubber farmers, and the sustainability of household food security is  27,08%, less is  43,75%, while the proportion of vulnerable is 12,50% and food insecurity is 6,67%. With a PPH score of 62,49, diversity is not achieved in nine food groups of rubber farmer households. Key words: food security, rubber farmer, food pattern of hope (PPH)

Abstract

Adolescence is a critical developmental phase marked by rapid physical growth, requiring adequate nutrition to support reproductive health. However, many adolescents fail to meet their nutritional needs, contributing to a high prevalence of Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED), particularly in developing countries like Indonesia. In Lampung, the prevalence of CED among women of reproductive age is 11.28%, with Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) reporting even higher rates, reaching 30%. This study examines the prevalence of CED at Darul 'Ulum Islamic Boarding School, Central Lampung, identifies contributing factors, and develops a prevention model. A total of 87 randomly selected female students across education levels participated. Data collection involved questionnaires assessing knowledge, attitudes, peer support, fasting habits, length of stay, food recall forms, and mid-upper arm circumference (MUAC) measurements. The findings indicate a 52% prevalence of CED, with significant correlations between CED and knowledge, attitudes, nutritional intake, education, physical activity, fasting habits, and peer support. Multivariate analysis highlights attitudes, fat intake, and length of stay as key factors. The study proposes a prevention model emphasizing behavior change, improved nutrition, and enhanced environmental management to reduce CED prevalence in Islamic boarding schools.

Abstract

Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT) Harapan Jaya di Kota Bandar Lampung memiliki usaha pengolahan jahe  merah menjadi jahe instan. Permintaan terhadap jahe instan tersebut meningkat sejak pandemi Covid 19.  Namun, kendala yang dihadapi bila akan meningkatkan produksi adalah ketersediaan bahan baku dan jahe instan dihasilkan belum dikemas dengan baik, penentuan harga jual belum benar, pemasaran masih terbatas, dan promosi belum dilakukan. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatan pengetahuan anggota KWT Harapan Jaya tentang pengadaan bahan baku jahe merah dan bauran pemasaran jahe instan.  Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat adalah penyuluhan (ceramah dan diskusi) dan pendampingan. Setelah kegiatan penyuluhan dilakukan, pengetahuan anggota KWT Harapan Jaya mengenai pengadaan bahan baku jahe merah dan bauran pemasaran meningkat sebesar 66,17 persen. Peserta kegiatan antusias mengikuti kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat terlihat dari persentase kehadiran sebesar 65 persen (lebih dari 50 persen anggota aktif) dan diskusi berjalan lancar serta aktif. Pengembangan kemasan produk, tertib pembukuan usaha, penetapan harga jual jahe instan, pemanfaatan media sosial dalam pemasaran dan promosi jahe instan KWT Harapan Jaya perlu waktu yang lebih panjang untuk mengevaluasinya.

Abstract

Sejak tahun 1998, Kelompok Tani (Poktan) Tunas Harapan di Desa Binjai Ngagung, Kecamatan Bekri, Kabupaten Lampung Tengah mengusahakan komoditas cabai merah. Produktivitas yang dihasilkan tergolong tinggi yakni sebesar 13 ton/ha. Walaupun demikian, bila ditinjau dengan pendekatan sistem agribisnis, maka pengusahaan cabai merah ini belum menunjukkan kinerja yang maksimal (baru 73,17 persen dari skor maksimal). Peran poktan dalam agribisnis cabai merah juga belum maksimal (baru 41,22 persen dari skor maksimal). Peran terbaik yang dicapai poktan hanya di subsistem pengadaan sarana produksi, sedangkan peran di subsistem usahatani, subsistem pengolahan hasil, subsistem pemasaran, dan subsistem jasa layanan penunjang perlu ditingkatkan. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan anggota poktan tentang: 1) pembukuan usahatani cabai merah, 2) pengembangan pengolahan produk cabai merah, 3) perluasan jaringan pemasaran cabai merah, dan 4) penguatan kelembagaan poktan. Metode yang digunakan adalah penyuluhan (ceramah dan diskusi) serta pendampingan.  Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa setelah kegiatan penyuluhan dilakukan, pengetahuan anggota poktan mengenai sistem agribisnis cabai merah meningkat sebesar 46,96 persen. Anggota poktan antusias mengikuti kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat terlihat dari persentase kehadiran sebesar 80 persen dari anggota aktif yang diundang. Diskusi berjalan lancar serta aktif.  Dari kegiatan pendampingan, pengurus sudah mempunyai contoh pembukuan dan analisis pendapatan usahatani cabai merah. Pembukuan usahatani oleh anggota poktan, pengembangan produk olahan, perluasan pemasaran, dan penguatan kelembagaan poktan merupakan tindak lanjut yang perlu dilakukan.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has had an impact on the behavior of using health services. One of the impacts is a decrease in visits by pregnant women to health care facilities, including the use and consumption of iron tablets as an effort to prevent anemia. This study aims to analyze the factors that influence the compliance of pregnant women to take iron tablets. This research is an analytic study with a cross-sectional design. Respondents were 35 pregnant women with iron deficiency anemia and met the inclusion criteria. Pearson Test and Multiple Linear Regression Test are used to determine the factors that affect compliance. The results showed that the factors that influenced the compliance of pregnant women to consume iron tablets (p less than 0.05) were knowledge, attitudes, support from health workers, family support, and social support. This study concludes that knowledge is the most influential factor in changes in hemoglobin in pregnant women with deficiency anemia.Pandemi Covid-19 membawa dampak terhadap perilaku pemanfaatan layanan kesehatan. Salah satu imbasnya adalah penurunan kunjungan ibu hamil ke fasilitas layanan kesehatan termasuk pemanfaatan dan pengonsumsian tablet tambah darah sebagai upaya pencegahan terjadinya anemia. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisa faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kepatuhan ibu hamil untuk mengonsumsi tablet tambah darah. Penelitian merupakan studi analitik dengan rancangan cross-sectional. Responden adalah orang ibu hamil dengan anemia defiseinsi besi dan memenuhi kriteria inklusi yang berjumlah 35 orang. Uji Pearson dan Uji Regresi Linear Berganda digunakan untuk mengetahui faktor yang mempengaruhi kepatuhan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa faktor yang berpengaruhterhadapkepatuhan ibu hamil untuk mengonsumsi tablet tambah darah (p kurang dari 0,05) yaitu pengetahuan, sikap, dukungan tenaga kesehatan, dukungan keluarga, dan dukungan sosial. Kesimpulan penelitian ini bahwa pengetahuan menjadi faktor yang paling berpengaruh terhadap perubahan hemoglobin ibu hamil dengan anemia defisiensi.

Abstract

Patients with end-stage renal disease, especially those receiving HD treatment, often show characteristics in the body's protein and energy storage, called protein energy wasting (PEW). HD is the mainstay of treatment for end-stage renal disease and the number of patients undergoing HD is increasing every year. Appropriate nutritional therapy is needed to improve nutritional status and improve the patient's quality of life. Malnutrition is a common condition in patients undergoing haemodialysis (HD) and is associated with increased morbidity and mortality. The main aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship between energy and macronutrient intake and nutritional status in HD patients at at Haemodialysis Unit Dr. H. Abdul Moeloek General Hospital Bandar Lampung. This research is an observational analytical study with a cross sectional design with 30 respondent with chronic kidney failure who underwent HD at at Haemodialysis Unit Dr. H. Abdul Moeloek General Hospital Bandar Lampung from April to May 2024, sampling technique using consecutive sampling technique. Information regarding eating patterns was collected using the 1 x 24 hour food recall method, mini mental status examination (MMSE) used to evaluate dementia in elderly respondents and the nutritional status index was based on an assessment using the mid-upper arm circumference percentile, the patient's height was obtained by measuring the patient's knee height which was then calculated using the Chumlea equation to obtain ideal body weight. The nutritional status index uses mid-upper arm circumference to categorize patients with good and poor nutritional status. Data were analyzed using Fisher's test. The results showed that the majority of respondents had inadequate energy intake as many as 20 patients (66.7%), inadequate protein intake as many as 24 patients (80%), inadequate fat intake as many as 26 patients (86.7%) and inadequate carbohydrate intake as many as 23 patients (76.7%). So it can be concluded that there is no relationship between energy intake (p = 0.633), protein (p = 0.656), fat (p = 0.557) and carbohydrates (p = 0.567) with nutritional status in HD patients at at Haemodialysis Unit Dr. H. Abdul Moeloek General Hospital Bandar Lampung. Further research needs to be carried out to determine the intake of other nutrients such as fluids, sodium and potassium as well as the duration of HD which is a common problem in HD patients.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium-Sized Enterprises (MSMEs) are productive businesses owned by individuals or legal entities that meet the requirements of a business. Micro- and small-sized businesses continue to confront a variety of financial and non-financial issues. Therefore, to encourage improved business performance, MSMEs are provided with coaching and/or mentoring by the Integrated Business Service Center-Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (PLUT-UMKM). Most of the MSMEs assisted by PLUT-UMKM in Bandar Lampung City are food MSMEs. The focus of this study is to determine the achievement of PLUT-UMKM coaching targets, determine the performance of MSMEs, and analyze the effect of achieving PLUT-UMKM coaching targets on MSME performance. The method used in this research is a survey. The sampling technique in this study used proportional stratified random sampling. The data collection method used was interviews. This research employs quantitative descriptive analysis and multiple linear regression analysis to analyse the data. The results of this study indicate that the achievement of PLUT-UMKM coaching targets is in the good enough category, the performance of MSMEs assisted by PLUT-UMKM is in the good category, and the variables that have a significant effect on MSME performance are the variables of access to financing and business networks.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the cost of production, income and marketing mix of tempe agroindustry. This study uses the census method for household clusters according to BPS which are classified into 3 levels, namely small, medium and large. Determination of the research location was chosen purposefully. The population in this study were 19 tempe agroindustries. Respondents in this study were the owners of the tempe agroindustry in Yosodadi, East Metro, Metro City. Field data collecting was carried out in August 2019. The data collected in this study were primary and secondary data. The data was analyzed with quantitative and qualitative descriptive methods. The results showed that the cost of production of tempe agroindustry in Yosodadi, East Metro, Metro City in the small cluster was IDR3,399.40/kilogram, while in the medium cluster was IDR3,521.97/kilogram and in the large cluster was IDR3,351.05/kilogram, tempe agroindustry in Yosodadi Village, East Metro, Metro City is a profitable industry and the marketing mix applied by tempe agroindustry in Yosodadi Village, East Metro, Metro City is not using the cluster method because the types and prices of products in all agroindustries are almost the same.Keywords: agroindustry, cost, income, marketing mix, tempe

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the performance of the agribusiness system of the beef cattle fattening business at PT Indo Prima Beef. The research method used is the case study method, located at PT Indo Prima Beef, Terbanggi Besar District of Central Lampung Regency. Data were collected in November-December 2022. Data were analyzed using qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis. The results showed that the performance of the production facilities supply subsystem was good, as analyzed by the agribusiness index analysis and six right. However, there are still insufficiencies, such as locations close to settlements, feed is not in the right place, and labor is not in the right type, quality, and quantity. The performance of the cultivation subsystem is suitable for cultivation because it has an R/C ratio value of >1, but currently, the company has not conducted mating with artificial insemination. The performance of the marketing subsystem is good as analyzed by the agribusiness index and marketing mix analysis (4P). Beef cattle marketing channels are large traders (abattoirs), retailers, and consumers. The performance of the supporting service subsystem is good, the services utilized by PT Indo Prima Beef are financial institutions, research institutions, government policies, transportation facilities, communication and information technology facilities, and supply stores for production facilities. Overall, the performance of the agribusiness system at PT Indo Prima Beef has been running well with a weighted agribusiness index of 81.51%. Keywords: Agribusiness index, agribusiness system, beef cattle.
