Abstract

The purpose and objectives of this study were to determine the effect of the cooperative jigsaw guided inquiry learning model and the effect on students' learning achievement abilities and the correlation between the learning model and the initial abilities of junior high school students. The research design used was a posttest only control design with factorial. Data collection techniques used documentation in the form of students' initial achievement abilities, observation sheets and science process skills tests to measure their learning achievement. The results showed that the average score of the science process skills of the experimental class students was higher, namely 83.30 compared to the control class, namely 75.15. While the average score of the science process skills of students with high, medium, and low initial achievement abilities were 85.10, 81.15, and 76.20, respectively. The results of the data analysis showed that the use of the cooperative jigsaw guided inquiry learning model and initial achievement abilities had a significant effect on students' science process skills. No interaction was found between the learning model and students' achievement abilities on the science process skills of junior high school students in Banda Aceh.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the role of legal socialization at Vocational High School (SMK) Taman Siswa Kisaran in preventing online gambling practices among adolescents, as well as to understand the legal implications that adolescents may face when involved in such activities. The research method employed is a qualitative approach, gathering data through interviews with teaching staff, students, and legal experts, along with observation of the legal socialization activities conducted at the school. The findings indicate that SMK Taman Siswa Kisaran has implemented various legal socialization activities, including workshops, seminars, and extracurricular activities, to enhance students' understanding of the legal consequences of online gambling. However, challenges in the implementation of legal socialization were identified, such as resource constraints and lack of support from relevant parties. Potential legal repercussions for adolescents include criminal penalties, fines, and long-term consequences related to criminal records. Therefore, this study highlights the importance of the school's role in disseminating information about the laws related to online gambling to adolescents, emphasizing the need for greater support from the school, government, and other relevant institutions to enhance prevention efforts. The implications of this research include the development of more effective legal socialization strategies and the necessity for collaborative efforts among various stakeholders to address the issue of online gambling among adolescents. Thus, this study underscores the urgency and relevance of prevention efforts against online gambling practices among adolescents through legal socialization approaches in the educational environment.

Abstract

Graphic design is a field that operates in various sectors such as advertising, media, global marketing, and entertainment. Graphic designers have a central role in creating artworks that are both aesthetically pleasing and effective in conveying messages to audiences. The purpose of this study is to classify graphic designer competencies into beginner, intermediate, and advanced categories. This research employs a quantitative descriptive approach. The population of this study is graphic designers in Banda Aceh. The research sample was determined using purposive sampling, with a minimum work experience of one year. Research data were collected through observation and tests. The data analyzed using discriminant analysis with the aid of SPSS. Discriminant analysis producted a discriminant fungction that was used to predict the competency level group of graphic designers more objectively based on influencing factors (variables) such as creativity, attention to detail, visual ability, and technical ability. Based on classification results using the discriminant function, it was determined that 33 designers were classified as beginners, 27 as intermediate, and 28 as advanced. The prediction accuracy of the discriminant function in classifying data correctly was 75%. The discriminant function can be effectively employed as a tool for selecting or evaluating the competencies of graphic designers.

Abstract

Abstract

The aim of this research is to test the effectiveness of integrated science teaching materials for junior high schools, especially the theme of household health and environmental sanitation. The research design uses a quasi-experiment with Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The research was carried out at SMPN 6 Banda Aceh class VII. The sample was determined by purposive sampling. The treatment in the experimental group was learning that used integrated science teaching materials, while the control group used electronic school books. The instruments used are test items, learning observation sheets, and learning tools. Data analysis was carried out using Anava to test mean differences and Scheffe test to test the effectiveness of integrated science teaching materials. The results of the research show that there are differences in high-level thinking abilities between junior high school students who use integrated science teaching materials and students who use separate/individual science teaching models in the field of biological studies. Students can remember 13%, understand 15%, application 18%, analysis 30% and evaluation 25% for thinking achievement. Teaching using integrated science teaching materials is very effective in improving the high-level thinking abilities of students at SMP Negeri 6 Banda Aceh.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the acceptance of coffee-ground compost fertilizer developed by students of the Agricultural Industrial Engineering Program, Universitas Serambi Mekkah, among farmers in Aceh Besar Regency. The analysis was conducted using two theoretical frameworks: the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and the Diffusion of Innovation (DOI). Data were collected through questionnaires from farmers, focusing on indicators such as fertilizer quality, ease of application, affordability, accessibility, and soil impact. The TAM analysis revealed that farmers hold a positive perception of the fertilizer’s usefulness and ease of use, influencing their attitudes and behavioral intentions toward adoption. Meanwhile, the DOI analysis highlighted the role of innovation characteristics, communication channels, time, and social systems in the diffusion process. This research provides an initial overview of the potential adoption of coffee-ground-based organic fertilizer as an environmentally friendly alternative to support sustainable agriculture in Aceh Besar.
