Abstract

Artikel ini mengevaluasi kesiapan laboratorium di perguruan tinggi Indonesia dalam menghadapi era Revolusi Industri 5.0. Melalui tinjauan literatur komprehensif, penelitian ini menganalisis infrastruktur, sumber daya manusia, integrasi teknologi, dan kerangka kebijakan yang diperlukan untuk mempersiapkan laboratorium universitas menghadapi tuntutan era digital. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa meskipun ada kemajuan dalam beberapa aspek, masih terdapat kesenjangan signifikan dalam kesiapan laboratorium di Indonesia dibandingkan dengan standar internasional. Rekomendasi diberikan untuk meningkatkan infrastruktur, mengembangkan sumber daya manusia, dan menyesuaikan kebijakan guna memastikan laboratorium perguruan tinggi Indonesia dapat bersaing di era Revolusi Industri 5.0.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menganalisis dampak investasi teknologi terhadap peningkatan kualitas layanan laboratorium dengan menggunakan pendekatan System Dynamics. Melalui tinjauan literatur komprehensif, studi ini mengeksplorasi berbagai aspek investasi teknologi di laboratorium, termasuk otomatisasi, kecerdasan buatan, dan digitalisasi. Pendekatan System Dynamics digunakan untuk memodelkan interaksi kompleks antara investasi teknologi dan kualitas layanan, memungkinkan simulasi skenario yang berbeda dan prediksi hasil jangka panjang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa investasi teknologi yang tepat dapat secara signifikan meningkatkan efisiensi operasional, akurasi diagnostik, dan kepuasan pelanggan. Namun, keberhasilan implementasi bergantung pada berbagai faktor, termasuk pelatihan staf, integrasi sistem, dan manajemen perubahan yang efektif. Studi ini memberikan wawasan berharga bagi para pembuat kebijakan dan manajer laboratorium dalam merancang strategi investasi teknologi yang efektif untuk meningkatkan kualitas layanan laboratorium.

Abstract

Artikel review ini menganalisis transformasi digital laboratorium peternakan melalui integrasi teknologi presisi dan inovasi untuk peningkatan produktivitas. Berdasarkan kajian literatur sistematis terhadap publikasi terkini (2022–2024), penelitian mengidentifikasi implementasi kunci seperti Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), Digital Twin, AI, dan IoT yang secara signifikan meningkatkan efisiensi operasional, akurasi data, serta pemantauan kesejahteraan hewan. Temuan menunjukkan peningkatan produktivitas dan pengurangan tenaga kerja pada peternakan adopter teknologi. Meskipun dihadapkan pada tantangan biaya tinggi dan kesenjangan kompetensi, solusi seperti pelatihan teknis, subsidi pemerintah, dan kolaborasi riset (Digi4Live) berpotensi mempercepat adopsi digital. Kesimpulannya, transformasi ini tidak hanya mendorong produktivitas tetapi juga keberlanjutan ekosistem peternakan modern.

Abstract

Lean Laboratory Management merupakan pendekatan sistematis untuk meningkatkan efisiensi dan mengurangi pemborosan dalam operasional laboratorium klinis. Penelitian ini mengkaji implementasi prinsip-prinsip lean dalam konteks laboratorium klinis di rumah sakit tersier, dengan fokus pada peningkatan efisiensi operasional. Melalui tinjauan literatur komprehensif, studi ini menganalisis dampak penerapan lean terhadap berbagai parameter kinerja laboratorium, termasuk waktu pemrosesan, efisiensi biaya, dan kualitas layanan. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa implementasi lean secara signifikan meningkatkan efisiensi laboratorium, mengurangi waktu pemrosesan, dan meningkatkan kepuasan pasien. Namun, keberhasilan implementasi bergantung pada faktor-faktor seperti dukungan manajemen, keterlibatan karyawan, dan adaptasi yang tepat terhadap konteks lokal. Penelitian ini menyoroti pentingnya pendekatan lean dalam optimalisasi operasional laboratorium klinis di era pelayanan kesehatan modern.

Abstract

Artikel ini mengkaji inovasi pengelolaan limbah berkelanjutan di laboratorium peternakan beserta tantangan dan peluangnya di era modern. Analisis menunjukkan bahwa operasional laboratorium berisiko tinggi (seperti fasilitas BSL-3Ag/4Ag) menimbulkan dampak lingkungan signifikan, termasuk potensi pencemaran agen zoonosis (Campylobacter, Salmonella), emisi gas rumah kaca, dan konsumsi sumber daya intensif. Tantangan utama meliputi hambatan teknologi, ekonomi, serta kerumitan kepatuhan regulasi. Di sisi lain, inovasi teknologi seperti penerapan AI, IoT, blockchain, dan daur ulang kimia terbukti meningkatkan efisiensi pemilahan limbah, transparansi pelacakan, serta pengolahan aliran limbah kompleks. Pendekatan ekonomi sirkular melalui pemanfaatan produk sampingan (biogas, kompos) dan strategi pengolahan on-site berpotensi menciptakan aliran pendapatan baru serta mengurangi biaya operasional. Kesuksesan implementasi memerlukan kerangka regulasi ketat (IACUC), pelatihan staf berkelanjutan, dan harmonisasi praktik manajemen risiko untuk menjamin keberlanjutan lingkungan, keuntungan ekonomi, serta kepatuhan standar keselamatan.

Abstract

Laboratorium agribisnis memainkan peran krusial dalam pendidikan dan pengembangan kewirausahaan pertanian di era digital. Penelitian ini menganalisis peran dan manajemen laboratorium melalui tinjauan tujuh artikel terindeks (2023–2024). Hasil menunjukkan bahwa integrasi teknologi digital (seperti GIS, drone, IoT, dan e-learning) meningkatkan efektivitas pembelajaran eksperiensial berbasis siklus Kolb, mempersiapkan mahasiswa menghadapi tuntutan industri pertanian modern. Namun, tantangan seperti infrastruktur terbatas, resistensi terhadap perubahan, dan rendahnya penerapan protokol keselamatan menghambat optimalisasi peran laboratorium. Diperlukan manajemen komprehensif, pelatihan berkelanjutan, dan kolaborasi dengan industri untuk mengatasi hambatan ini guna mendukung inovasi berkelanjutan dan kesiapan lulusan.

Abstract

Value chain development models in livestock downstreaming are crucial for enhancing the competitiveness of the national livestock sector. This article aims to analyze various value chain development models that support the downstreaming of livestock in Indonesia. The methodology employed is a comprehensive literature review of current research on value chains and livestock downstreaming. The findings indicate that the success of value chain development relies on the integration of business actors, the adoption of technology and innovation, the development of supporting infrastructure, and the harmonization of policies. Implementing downstreaming through the establishment of processing industries has positively impacted the added value of livestock products. The proposed value chain development model emphasizes the need for triple helix collaboration among the government, the private sector, and academia. Additionally, it must be tailored to the specific characteristics and potential of each region. In conclusion, this study highlights the significance of an integrated approach to developing livestock value chains to create a sustainable and competitive ecosystem in the livestock sector.

Abstract

Brooding behavior in chickens is a natural trait that is essential for the continuation of the species. While this behavior is advantageous for hatching eggs, it can also be a drawback for farmers focused on eggs production. Prolonged brooding behavior has the tendency to delay hens from reaching the following egg-laying period. The purpose of this study is to investigate how brooding behavior in chickens is from a genetic perspective. The elimination of the brooding trait can be achieved by improving genetic quality through selection methods such as those used in laying breeds. Once the brooding trait can be reduced or eliminated through selection, the production of eggs will be increased. Prolactin plays a role in the behavior of the hen in terms of incubation, feeding, and nest guarding behavior. Focused selection in chicken breeding has provided farmers with the opportunity to improve brooding traits based on specific objectives, as well as to produce chickens that are better at egg production or for chickens that are more suitable for breeding. Understanding these genetic mechanisms allows farmers to perform genetic selection based on the security of prolactin genes and their associations to control the brooding behavior in accordance with the breeding objectives, either to increase egg production or to maintain natural traits in local chickens. The conclusion is that brooding traits in chickens are highly influenced by various factors, including genetic, hormonal and environmental factors

Abstract

Flooding is a serious threat to the livestock sector that can cause significant economic losses and threaten livestock welfare. This article examines comprehensive strategies for livestock evacuation and emergency preparedness during floods, aiming to minimize such negative impacts. Through a systematic literature review from reputable scientific databases such as PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science and Google Scholar, this study identifies best practices for handling livestock evacuation during floods. The results showed five key components in effective livestock evacuation management: (1) pre-disaster stage that includes risk mapping and identification of flood-prone zones, (2) development of a structured evacuation plan that considers livestock characteristics and available infrastructure, (3) solid coordination between farmers, local government and relevant agencies, (4) implementation of regular evacuation training and simulation, and (5) post-evacuation recovery strategy. The main challenges identified include limited infrastructure, lack of coordination between institutions, and the lack of awareness of farmers on the importance of disaster preparedness. This study recommends the development of an integrated early warning system, capacity building of farmers through continuous training, and strengthening coordination between stakeholders. Implementation of these recommendations is expected to improve the effectiveness of livestock evacuation during floods and reduce potential economic losses and negative impacts on livestock welfare.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the use of moringa leaf flour (Moringa oleifera L) in rations on the quality of quail eggs. The researchers designed four treatments and five replications: P0, a ration without the use of Moringa leaf flour (control); P1, a ration containing 5% Moringa leaf flour; P2, a ration containing 10% Moringa leaf flour; and P3, a diet containing 15% Moringa leaf meal. These were analysed using ANOVA. The results showed that the use of Moringa leaf flour up to 15% had a significant effect (P<0.05) on yolk color but had no significant impact (P>0.05) on egg weight, yolk index, albumen index, haugh unit, shell weight, and thick shell. Based on the research results, incorporating Moringa leaf flour into rations up to 15% can enhance yolk colour without reducing egg weight, yolk index, albumen index, Haugh units, shell weight, and shell thickness.
