Abstract

This study addresses the challenges faced by service providers in construction projects, particularly in dealing with changes in work that may affect the project’s timeline and cost. Changes can introduce risks of loss, especially when claims for extension of time (EOT) and additional costs incurred due to prolongation are not properly approved by the Employer. Failure to submit a valid claim for EOT and prolongation costs can result in substantial financial losses for the service provider. The research aims to develop a method for effectively managing these risks by integrating the output of the Last Planner System (LPS) into the administrative support data for claims. This method is used to calculate delay events and create a structured, reliable claim evidence document. The findings suggest that using the LPS framework can help construction managers systematically document and justify delays and cost impacts, thereby improving the likelihood of claim approval. This approach can enhance the efficiency of claims management and reduce financial risks for service providers. The study’s implications highlight the importance of proactive planning and proper documentation in managing construction project risks, emphasizing the need for robust administrative systems to support claims for delays and associated costs.

Abstract

Deformation monitoring is carried out during each stage of the dam's lifecycle, including the construction phase, initial reservoir filling, and the post-construction phase. The construction stage is particularly crucial, as rapid structural shifts may occur, which could compromise the dam's stability due to significant soil settlement or displacement. The Pidekso Dam, situated in Giriwoyo District, is a project initiated by the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PUPR), with its planning process starting in 2015. Reservoir filling began on 14 October 2021. This study utilises a descriptive analysis method based on data from multilayer settlement instrument readings at the Pidekso Dam. The research aims to examine the deformation behaviour observed during the construction phase, as indicated by the instrument readings. Measurements taken between 21 July 2020 and 14 October 2021 at Sta +179.00 revealed a settlement of -3.091 mm during construction. At MS 8, the deformation was found to exceed normal limits.

Abstract

Gajahmungkur also known as the Wonogiri multipurpose dam, is a long-standing dam in Wonogiri Regency, Central Java Province. After nearly five decades of operation, an evaluation of the dam's operational and maintenance performance is necessary to ensure its continued function. This study aims to analyze the actual condition of the Wonogiri multipurpose dam through a condition index assessment method for each dam component based on primary and secondary data. The assessment process is carried out by determining a condition index value that reflects the level of performance and safety of the dam area. The analysis results show that the Wonogiri multipurpose dam obtained a condition index value of 3, which is included in the moderate damage category. This finding indicates the need for maintenance measures to prevent further damage. Based on the results of observations, dense grass growth, sedimentation, and the need for repairs to the hydromechanical equipment were found. This emphasizes the importance of proper evaluation and repair for optimal and sustainable dam operation. The recommendations from this study are expected to guide more effective and efficient dam management in the future.

Abstract

Bendungan Telaga Tunjung yang terletak di Provinsi Bali yang dibangun pada tahun 2003-2006. Pada tahun 2015 dan 2020 telah dilakukan survey bathimetri akibat jumlah sedimen telah memenuhi tampungan waduk hingga mengurangi umur layan waduk. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengevaluasi keamanan bendungan yang ditinjau dari deformasi vertikal dari data bacaan alat instrumentasi patok geser. Penelitian ini menggunakan data dari bacaan patok geser yang kemudian dianalisis nilai settlement index dan nilai deviasi yang dibandingkan dengan kriteria penerimaan yaitu 1% dari tinggi bendungan. Penelitian ini memakai data pada tahun 2006, 2007, 2017, dan 2022. Hasil dari penelitian ini pada tahun 2017 menunjukan di daerah lereng hulu main dam dalam kondisi yang kurang aman karena nilai deviasi melebihi 1% dan nilai settlement index di atas 0,02, namun kondisi terakhir pada tahun 2022 deformasi vertikal bendungan dalam kondisi aman karena semua nilai deviasinya masih di bawah 1% dan nilai settlement index di bawah 0,02.

Abstract

Balok baja kastela adalah profil baja yang dikembangkan dari profil I yang dipotong bagian badan dan disambung lagi sedemikian rupa sehingga membentuk lubang pada bagian badan.  Bentuk lubang profil balok baja kastela pada umumnya adalah persegi enam (heksagonal). Pembuatan balok baja kastela perlu memperhatikan jarak antar lubang agar balok mempunyai kemampuan menahan beban tertinggi. Tulisan ini menyajikan hasil penelitian untuk menentukan jarak antar lubang yang optimum pada balok baja kastela dengan mempertimbangkan distribusi tegangan, deformasi, dan kelelehan pada balok tersebut. Penelitian diawali dengan perhitungan menggunakan metode Elemen Elemen Hingga (Finite Element Method /FEM) kemudian dilanjut dengan pengujian di laboratorium. FEM dilakukan untuk menentukan ukuran dan jarak antar lubang optimum pada balok kastela. Variasi sudut bukaan lubang dilakukan antara 45o sampai 70o. Hasil analisis FEM kemudian diujikan di laboratorium dengan ukuran dan jarak antar lubang optimum untuk mengevaluasi perbedaan hasilnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan lubang profil dengan kemiringan antara 45o sampai 70o sebaiknya dibuat dengan jarak antar lubang antara 0.1 sampai 0.25 dari tinggi profil balok kastela dengan distribusi lubang terbaik adalah antara 5 sampai 7 lubang per meter.
