Abstract

The purpose of this study was to explore ethnomatematics in citrus farmers’ activities to make teaching materials for students in the form of Students Worksheets (LKPD). The type of this studywas qualitative research with an ethnographic approach. Observation, interview, and documentation used as the data collection methods. The subjects of this study were three people in Pesanggaran Subdistrict. Ethnomatematics which was examined covering some activities such as calculate, measure, and design. This study focused on determining the areas, the amount estimation of trees based on planting distance, determining the amount of fertilizer based on trees and fertilizing period, and determining the incurred costs. The mathematical concepts that appeared in this study were operations, quadrilaterals, and proportion. Keywords: Ethnomathematics, Activities of Citrus Farmers, LKPD

Abstract

Abstract. This research aims to describe the profile of sudent’s creative thinking skill in solving problems of TIMSS model geometrical content. Indonesian students’ achievement in international mathematics test TIMSS were at low benchmark especially in geometrical content. The reasearch subject were 6 randomly selected students of 64 students from Grade 8A and 8B SMPN 1 Bondowoso. Methods of data collection in this research used tests and interviews. Creative thinking skill aspects are fluency, flexibilty, originality and elaboration. Based on the analysis of the data, the results show that 1 student is categorized as very creative (level 4), 3 students are creative (level 3), and 2 students are categorized as quite creative (level 2). The level 4 student (S3) achieved all aspects as well as fluency, flexibility,originality and elaboration. The student gave variation of answers and interprete problems in different prespectives although he did not often get it. The level 3 students (S1, S4, and S6) can achieve fluency, flexibility, and originality aspect. The level 2 students (S2 and S5) tend to achieve two aspects of creative thinking. Abstract

Abstract. Cooperative learning model make a match type with a task accompanied recitation method is one of the techniques in learning models that provide opportunities for students to work together with others in which the application using the card as a medium to organize student interaction patterns supported by administration duties along with responsibility in the classroom to strengthen learning materials. This research aims to determine the application of these learning to improve the activities and student learning outcomes in the subject learning grade X of broadcasting linear program at SMKN 1 Jember. This research is a classroom action research using a qualitative approach. The results showed increased activity and student learning outcomes. Student activity increased from the first cycle with the percentage 69.8% to 89.42% in the second cycle. While the learning outcomes of students also increased from the first cycle with the percentage 78.57% to 85.71% in the second cycle. Abstract

Abstract: The research purpose is to know the process and the result ofdevelopment of mathematics learning instruments based on character at guided discovery learning forTheorem of Pythagorastopic at eightgrade of junior high school. Learning instrumentsdevelopment model refers to 4D Thiagarajanmodels which has 4 steps namely define, design, develop, and disseminate.This research has fourproducts namely lesson plan, student book, worksheet, and evaluation test.Based on validation process and tryout,it can be concluded that the learning instruments had fullfiled with validity, practice, and effective criteria. Abstract

Abstract. Problem solving skill is very necessary in the field of mathematics, for it is necessary to do the exercises so that the problem solving abilities are increased, one type of problem solving is IDEAL which consists of the stages of identifying, define, explore, act and look. The aim of this research was to determine the ability to solve geometry problems based on van Hiele's level. The test used in this research consisted of two test packages. The first test is to determine the level of van Hiele students and the second test is the geometric subject. The results of the first test show that the van Hiele level of students is at the level of previsualization, 0, 0-1, 1, 1-2, and 2. The second test is given to students at levels 0, 1, and 2. The results of the study show that each student is able to write complete information and can define the objectives by writing down the questions. In writing problem solving strategies and in implementing strategies students experience the tendency to make the wrong solution strategies. At the evaluation stage students have not been able to arrange solutions with different way. Keywords: IDEAL, problem solving, van Hiele, solid figure

Abstract

Abstract: The goal of this research aims to know the process and the result of the development of Mathematics Learning Instruments by using IMPROVE method based on Polya’s problem solving model in sub topic of circle at the second semester of the eighth grade students of junior high school in the 2013/2014 Academic Year. Learning instruments development model refers to four D models. The products of this research are lesson plan, student book, worksheet, and evaluation test. The products refer to the phases of IMPROVE method based on Polya’s problem solving model. The subject of the research is students of grade VIII D SMPN 14 Jember. The data collection methods used in this research are the validation, test, observation, and questionnaire. Based on the validation process try out of learning instruments, it can be concluded that the learning instrumets have satisfied criteria the validity, practicality, and effectiveness. Abstract

Abstract. Ethnomatematics is the mathematics that is applied by a group of culture unconsciously. The study is conducted at Kalibaru Banyuwangi. The aim of the study is to to describe ethnomatematics and to make a pack of test questions concerning to ethnomatematics on kitchen equipment craftsmen. The type of this research is qualitative with the ethnographic approach and two subject research. Calculating activity appears when determining the length and width of a body with a certain size, determining the height of the filter location, determining the size of the length for the base and lid, making the net cover, determining the volume of parts, determining wages, and making certain diameters. Measuring activity arises when measuring the location of the filter's height, measuring the length and width of the casing, measuring the length of the radius of the base and lid, and measuring the length of the wire. Designing activity arises when the craftsman makes a ruler, makes a filter hole, makes the nets close, and emerge mathematical concept about two-dimentional figure and three-dimentional figure. Making student teaching materials in the form of a package of test questions with the topic of ethnomatematics on craftsmen in the making of dandang with material to construct curved side spaces. Abstract

Abstrac.: This research aims to determine the percentage of geometry questions for each van Hiele levels in the SMP mathematics textbook for seventh grade, and to determine the percentage of geometry questions for each descriptors in the SMP mathematics textbook for seventh grade based on van Hiele levels. Sources of data in the study include documents geometry questions in the SMP mathematics textbook for seventh grade, written by Tatag Yuli Eko Siswono and Netti Lastiningsih; and also Atik Wintarti et.al. To analyze the data used descriptive analysis with a qualitative approach. The result of the data analysis shows that are 1176 questions in the mathematics textbooks SMP written by Tatag Yuli Eko Siswono and Netti Lastiningsih; and also written by Atik Wintarti et.al. From the results, the percentage of geometry questions for each van Hiele levels in the mathematics textbook written by Tatag Yuli Eko Siswono and Netti Lastiningsih for Visualization, Analysis, Ordering, and Deduction are respectively 9%, 81.31%, 8.47%, and 0%. Then, in the SMP mathematics textbook written by Atik Wintarti et.al, there are 14,88% in the visualization level; 75,42% in the analysis level; 8,36% in the ordering level; and 0% in the deduction level. However, each SMP mathematics textbook for seventh grade are equally dominated by Analysis level. Then, the geometry questions in the mathematics textbook written by Tatag Yuli Eko Siswono and Netti Lastiningsih is dominated by descriptor 4.b and descriptor 9. But, in the SMP mathematics textbook written by Atik Wintarti et.al is dominated by descriptor 2. Key Words : textbook, geometry questions, van Hiele geometric thinking levels

Abstract

Abstract.Metacognitionis thestudents' understanding of their weaknessesandstrengthsin learningandself-regulating during they are study, such asplanning, use andevaluationprocess. The research purposes are knowing process and result of development of instruments assessment junior high school students’ metacognition in solving mathematical story problems on the topic of pythagoras theorem in class viii. Instruments assessmentdevelopment model refers to Plomp model. Based on validation process and tryout the instruments assessment can be concluded that the learning sets had been appropriate with validate, reliable and practicecriteria. The result of the researchshows that the instruments satisfy the criteria of validity coefficient reaches 0,92, the reliability coefficient 0,8 andthe practicality percentage reaches 100 %. Abstract

Abstract This research analises students of 4C on solve mathematic thinking problem high-level, with purpose to describe competence of 4C’s students of MTsN Satu Atap class VIII on solve mathematic thinking problem high-level. Researcher chooses one group from five groups which is every group has five members. The chosen group is a subject of research. Collecting data uses two methods which are test and interview method. The result of this research shows that student 4C’s skill have been in three indicators, those are communication, creative thinking, and collaboration skill, whereas critical thinking isn’t had by students.
