Abstract

Traditionally, seas and oceans have become sources of inspiration in seeking the truth from facts to dispell the worldview of those who tended to asscoiate it with myths and superstitions. In fact, it is not far-fetched to suggest  that the change and development in present day Southeast Asia, from traditional kingdoms to modern nation-states are intimately rooted in and shaped by the contributions of our seafaring ancestors. History demonstrates how they risked as well as as sacrificed their lives crossing treacherous waters and encountering stormy weathers just to ensure their legacy and continuity of the future generations of seafarers, and turning this region into an epicentre of civilization that was second to none in the world of civilizations. Yet, their thousands of years of contributions and sacrifices appear trivial and paled to insignificance like ”shipwrecks laying at the bottom of the sea in their forgotten watery graves”. Based on several theories of the development of traditional civilizations in the Nusantara like the Out of Yunan and Out of Taiwan theories by western scholars, it appears that these theoretical paradigms have marginalized the realities of history, and therefore require to be ”straightened” via a Southeast Asia centric perspective. This writing is to revisit the salience of the ancient epoch and pre-historic man marked by the arrival of the homo-eractus  and homo-sapiens from mainland Asia to this region in the early journey and development of the history of maritime civilization; to explain how the seafaring communities  from the eras B.C. (Before Christ) to A.D. (Anno Domini)  were able to utilise seas and oceans as a source of emancipation and development, and eventual rise as feared and respected searfarers of the ancient world.

Abstract

The Indonesian authority encourages that higher education institutions should carried out in a non-lecturing manner, in the form of a case method and team-based project. Therefore, the Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia requires all lecturers to create collaborative and participatory classes. The Social Sciences Learning in the Upper-Level Class Course used the project-based learning (PjBL) model in the form of visits to museums and making videos of the results of their visits, so it is important to investigate the implementation and results of the practice to enhance critical thinking. The subjects of this qualitative study were fourth-semester students at the UPI Serang Campus Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program. The method employed in this research was a descriptive qualitative using observation and questionnaire data collection. The data analysis used the Miles and Huberman framework, comprising data reduction, data display, verification, and conclusion. The results of the research demonstrated that the application of the PjBL model in the course by creating videos and YouTube platforms revealed that students' creativity increased because they were given the freedom to explore their creative thinking in carrying out the project. This is shown by the percentage of 27.21% was in very students completing assignments, with excellent criteria and the rest gained good criteria according to the rubric given. The implementation could be the best practice of PjBL in higher education to increase student creative thinking

Abstract

The underlying point of this research is that when done learning in the classroom is still oriented to the teacher (teacher centered learning), the teacher explains more material to students and after that gives tasks to be done so that thay do not talk much and roam in the classroom. This will make the child more passive when learning in the classroom. Limited knowledge that teachers have becomes a major factor, making it difficult for teachers to create interesting learning and invove student activities, therefore, this study wanats to review the use of picture and picture models during the IPS learning process to develop students’ learning activities and interests. The research design used during this study uses the KemmisMC. Taggart Class Action Research (CAR) method. This research takes place starting from the pre-action stage and the stage of implementation of action, namely cycle I and cycle II whice consists of 4 stages, namely the stage of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. To obtain data in the study, researchers used observation techniques, interviews, tests and documentation. Data found based on the result of the percentage of student activity levels during cycle I which is 49,9% also during cycle II, there was an increase of 88,3% with the category of interest. So in this study researchers councluded that the uses of picture and picture learning models on IPS subjects found an increase in activity as well as the learning interests of grade IV students.

Abstract

Attitude education in this day and age is very important because attitudes are formed around the environment. Social Science subjects teach that a good attitude of responsibility certainly needs to be applied in everyday life, but the attitude is not realized properly. This approach to research uses qualitative approaches and the methods used are case study methods. Research techniques in the form of data collection techniques and data analysis techniques, data collection techniques used are observations, interviews, and documentation, while data analysis techniques to compile data findings are by way of the first 3 flows of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion withdrawal. The instruments used are observation and interview. From the results of the research conducted, it was obtained that from 13 students of fifth grade, 5 students lacked the attitude of responsibility in the classroom and learning Social Sciences, during the learning process students showed that, the attitude of responsibility was less applied, namely the lack of attitude of responsibility towards the given task, the lack of responsibility towards the time of the collection of tasks,  The absence of creative ideas during learning, lack of socialization of responsibility by teachers. The measures implemented are also less maximal, namely the lack of introduction to the attitude of responsibility, the drive to be responsible, and praise for responsibility. The obstacles experienced are the character of students, different backgrounds, different abilities, understanding of attitudes of responsibility, and lack of care for parents and students' learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the regulation of the implementation of online learning in teaching and learning activities for social studies subjects to fifth-grade elementary school students, the implementation of social studies online learning for fifth-grade elementary school students, and the inhibiting factors in the implementation of social studies online learning in grade five students. V elementary school. This research is qualitative. Data collection in this study used the method of observation and interviews with fifth-grade teachers and several fifth-grade students. Data analysis used qualitative data analysis techniques with inductive thinking. This research was conducted at MI Muhammadiyah Braja Asri. The results of this study are as follows: 1) Regulations on the implementation of online learning in teaching and learning activities for social studies subjects for fifth-grade elementary school students include: the application of the principle that anyone can become a teacher, learning with multidimensional student answers, the teacher is no longer a teacher. the only source of student learning, and the use of information and communication technology in supporting effective learning. 2) the implementation of online learning for social studies subjects for fifth-grade elementary school students, and 3) the inhibiting factors in the implementation of social studies online learning for fifth-grade elementary school students, including the inhibiting factors for the implementation of social studies online learning in fifth-grade teachers found several obstacles or difficulties in its implementation, including the teacher being less than optimal in delivering the material, the lack of student motivation in participating in learning and students having difficulty understanding and receiving the material.

Abstract

The three objectives of this research are to: (1) organize history learning utilizing the Merdeka curriculum for historical thinking skills; (2) refine the Merdeka curriculum for historical thinking skills; and (3) serve as an assessment of historical thinking abilities. activities for teaching and learning history that rely on critical thinking. In this work, a case study methodology is combined with a qualitative method. Teachers, students, records, curricula, and historical thinking abilities are the informants that provide the data. Activities for teaching and learning in history classes do not adhere to the standards of assessment. Nonetheless, educators have made an effort to follow certain guidelines and execute their own curricula as precisely as they can. Applications of the Merdeka Curriculum can be modified to take into account historical thinking abilities in the context of teaching history. The study's findings indicate that: (1) Teachers plan the history lessons in the Independent Curriculum; and (2) History lessons are implemented in a way that closely aligns with student achievement. (3) The autonomous curriculum's learning principles are not followed in the learning process. Additionally, there are less situational learning and monotonous learning strategies. (4) There are multiple instances in which the Independent Curriculum-based teaching and learning evaluation principles are not followed in the execution of the evaluation of teaching and learning activities.

Abstract

Kurikulum 2013 sangat menjunjung adanya sikap sosial yang dimiliki peserta didik. Namun dewasa ini kerap kita temui sikap peserta didik yang kurang memiliki rasa peduli terhadap sesama, memudarnya sikap jujur dan percaya diri, serta tanggung jawab. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk menguraikan serta memahami implikasi dari pembinaan sikap sosial melalui penerapan sistem reward and punishment point pada pembelajaran IPS. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan metode studi kasus. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari guru kelas dan peserta didik kelas V. Lokasi penelitian berada di SDN Dalung 1. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, kuesioner dan sikap sosial yang muncul di dalamnya. Implikasi tersebut terlihat dari hasil kuesioner yaitu 95% peserta didik menjawab tepat sesuai dengan sikap sosial yang diharapkan dan 5% peserta didik menjawab tidak tepat terhadap sikap sosial yang diharapkan. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan sistem reward and punishment point pada pembelajaran IPS memiliki dampak terhadap pembinaan sikap sosial peserta didik. The 2013 curriculum really upholds the social attitudes of students. However, nowadays we often find the attitude of students who lack a sense of caring for others, a waning attitude of honesty and self-confidence, and responsibility. This research aims to describe and understand the implications of fostering social attitudes through the application of a reward and punishment point system in social studies learning. This research uses a qualitative approach and case study method. The research subjects consisted of class teachers and class V students. The research location was at SDN Dalung 1. Data collection techniques were through observation, interviews, questionnaires and the social attitudes that emerged in them. This implication can be seen from the results of the questionnaire, namely that 95% of students answered correctly according to the expected social attitudes and 5% of students answered incorrectly regarding the expected social attitudes. It can be concluded that the application of the reward and punishment point system in social studies learning has an impact on developing students' social attitudes.

Abstract

The Cileunyi Wetan Village Office is a village service center in activities such as governance, empowerment, development and counseling. The Certificate Making Service System in Cileunyi Wetan Village is currently still done manually, that is, people have to come directly to the village office on working days and hours. A system like this is not only very inconvenient for officers because they have to input data every time an application is made, it is also inconvenient for residents because they have to queue and wait for a long time. Moreover, if on the day in question the village head is unable to attend/is away on duty, then the service will be delayed. The digital transformation of the certificate making service system is carried out using the object oriented analysis design model Rational Unified Process (RUP) method with the stages of Inception, Elaboration, Construction and Transition. This system was built using website-based PHP language so that it is easily accessed by village residents from wherever they are provided there is internet access. This digital transformation of the certificate making service system was carried out with the aim of optimizing the village service system for the community in the Cileunyi Wetan Village environment who need a certificate from the village according to the requirements mentioned above. The results showed that with this digital system, apart from being able to help make the work of village officials more effective, it can also increase effectiveness and make it easier for the community to submit the certificates they need.

Abstract

The development of the internet from year to year is increasingly experiencing a very rapid spread. The benefits of the internet can also be felt in the field of education where the internet can help all activities in the field of education to make it easier and faster, one of which is the process of accepting new students. In this study it was found that the system used in accepting new students was still manual and did not work well. Referring to the research objectives and the results of observations made, the solution to overcome this problem is to create a new system to solve existing problems.the design uses the Object Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD) method using the Rational Unified Process (RUP) system design. The results showed that design of a new student registration information system is able to improve the delivery of information, provide services quickly and as a medium for school promotion.

Abstract

Creating a table of contents, table of tables, list of figures, and bibliography manually will be a hassle for writers, especially when editing of content occurs which has an impact on shifting page numbers, or changes in page format or reference style. This community service is carried out using the service learning method, to add insight to lecturers and final semester students at the Al Ma'soem Islamic Banking College. By providing insight into the technique of creating documents in Microsoft Word so that it can present a table of contents, table list, list of images automatically, Mendeley installation, how to add references to Mendeley, how to cite with Mendeley, automatically present a bibliography, and change the style as needed. With this training, it is hoped that it can add insight to lecturers and students in writing articles or research results correctly and easily in accordance with applicable rules/rules.
