Abstract

Increasing student learning outcomes is one of the benchmarks in evaluating the implementation of the learning process. This research aims to test the effectiveness of learning models and approaches (PBL, PjBL, STEM) as well as teaching materials (E-modules and textbooks) in improving student learning outcomes. Where learning models and approaches and several types of teaching materials will be compared on student learning outcomes. So we will know the interaction of learning models and approaches and teaching materials used in influencing student learning outcomes. The research method used is comparative with experimental design. The samples used were 6 research classes selected using purposive sampling techniques. Research findings show that there is a significant influence between learning models and teaching materials on student learning outcomes, especially on the topic of biodiversity. Therefore, it is important to choose learning models and teaching materials that are relevant to the learning objectives.

Abstract

Situ Bagendit merupakan sebuah danau wisata alam di Kabupaten Garut yang memiliki status kawasan lindung berdasarkan undang-undang. Sebagai Kawasan lindung Situ Bagendit perlu mempertahankan fungsinya di bidang konservasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari keanekaragaman jenis dan status konservasi burung di Situ Bagendit, Kabupaten Garut. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Juli sampai Oktober 2023 dengan metode point count. Data yang diambil yaitu jenis dan jumlah burung yang dihitung menggunakan indeks Margalef, Evennes, dan Shannon Wiener. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, semua jenis burung yang ditemukan di area ini berada pada kategori tidak terancam punah berdasarkan IUCN Red List. Kemudian, terdapat dua jenis burung endemis pulau Jawa dan Bali, yaitu Halcyon cyanoventris dan Lonchura leucogastroides. Selain status konservasinya, diketahui pula keanekaragaman jenis burung di Situ Bagendit berada pada kategori rendah hingga sedang dan distribusinya tidak merata berdasarkan perhitungan menggunakan indeks Margalef dan Evenness.

Abstract

Abstrak. Ketergantungan manusia terhadap lahan sangat terlihat nyata dengan adanya perubahan fungsi lahan. Perubahan fungsi lahan juga berdampak terhadap tingkat biodiversitas tumbuhan. Studi ini mempelajari tingkat biodiversitas dan kelimpahan tumbuhan di tiga lokasi yang berbeda yaitu lahan konservasi pinus/perkebunan kopi, lahan persawahan dan lahan pemukiman. Ketiga lahan tersebut berada di Daerah Aliran Sungai (DAS) Cilaja yaitu di Desa Giri Mekar dan Desa Sindanglaya Kabupaten Bandung. Dalam penelitian ini dilakukan metode sampling struktur komunitas vegetasi untuk mengetahui komposisi, struktur dan jenis vegetasi serta perbedaan komunitas di tiga titik lokasi tersebut. Untuk analisis kuantitatif digunakan metode kuadran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa lahan pemukiman desa lebih beragam dibandingkan dengan lahan sawah dan lahan perkebunan kopi. Dapat disimpulkan secara umum bahwa keterlibatan dalam mengelola lahan dapat merubah komunitas, tingkat keanekaragaman dan dominansi tumbuhan.Kata kunci : DAS, tingkat biodiversitas, metode sampling struktur komunitas vegetasi Abstract. Human dependence on land is very evident with the change in land use. Changes in land use also have an impact on the level of plant biodiversity. The study followed the level of biodiversity and abundance of plants in three different locations namely conservation land pine / coffee plantations, rice fields and residential land. The third land is located in the Watershed (DAS) Cilaja is in the village of Giri Mekar and Rural Sindanglaya Bandung regency. In this research, community structure vegetation sampling methods to determine the composition, structure and type of vegetation and the three-point difference in the communities that location. For quantitative analysis used kuadran method. The results showed that the rural residential land is more diverse than the wetland and coffee plantation. In general it can be concluded that involvement in land management can change the community, the level of diversity and dominance of plants.Keywords : DAS, level of biodiversity, community structure vegetation sampling methods

Abstract

Sekolah memiliki peran penting dalam mengubah perilaku siswa, terutama melalui integrasi materi kebencanaan dalam kurikulum IPA. Calon guru IPA berperan dalam membentuk karakter peduli lingkungan. Peningkatan literasi lingkungan berkontribusi pada perubahan perilaku proekologis dan mendukung pembangunan lingkungan berkelanjutan. Kajian ini mengacu pada kurikulum Program Studi Pendidikan IPA dengan tujuan mendeskripsikan profil kebutuhan perkuliahan terkait mitigasi bencana untuk pengembangan program lebih lanjut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode field study dengan tiga pendekatan utama: pengumpulan data melalui dokumen, interaksi dengan narasumber, dan observasi di lokasi penelitian di Program Studi Pendidikan IPA jenjang S1 dan S2. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah instrumen non-tes, melibatkan analisis dokumen kurikulum, RPS mata kuliah Mitigasi Bencana, dan angket literasi lingkungan. Hasil analisis kurikulum dan RPS menunjukkan evaluasi yang baik pada identitas program studi, visi, misi, tujuan, dan strategi kurikulum. Meskipun tracer study alumni masih perlu ditingkatkan, keterkaitan antara capaian pembelajaran dengan kompetensi lulusan serta interaksi antara mahasiswa dan dosen dinilai baik. Wawancara dengan dosen mengungkapkan bahwa tujuan perkuliahan mitigasi bencana adalah menciptakan kesadaran akan bencana, dengan fokus pada prekursor kebencanaan dan kebiasaan masyarakat saat bencana terjadi. Integrasi kearifan lokal dalam menghadapi bencana masih terbatas, dan buku ajar atau modul yang menggabungkan kebencanaan dengan kearifan lokal masih kurang. Literasi lingkungan mencakup aspek sikap, kesadaran akan kelestarian lingkungan, dan perencanaan tindakan terhadap lingkungan, semuanya menunjukkan hasil yang baik dengan persentase di atas 60%.

Abstract

Situ Bagendit merupakan danau alami yang saat ini mengalami penurunan kualitas lingkungan akibat pencemaran serta perilaku masyarakat yang tidak ramah terhadap lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji tingkat kepedulian lingkungan masyarakat dan menilai relevansi antara kepedulian lingkungan dengan tindakan nyata dalam upaya menjaga keberlanjutan danau Situ Bagendit. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik purposive sampling terhadap 100 responden dari lima kelompok masyarakat di sekitar Situ Bagendit, Kabupaten Garut, Jawa Barat. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan kuesioner yang mencakup aspek pengetahuan, sikap, serta penerapan prinsip-prinsip etika lingkungan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat memiliki tingkat kepedulian lingkungan yang tinggi berdasarkan penerapan prinsip etika lingkungan, dengan prinsip kasih sayang dan peduli terhadap alam mencapai 83,6% sedangkan prinsip lainnya menunjukkan nilai di atas 75%. Meskipun demikian, kondisi aktual Situ Bagendit masih menunjukkan permasalahan lingkungan yang serius dengan ditemukannya sampah dan pertumbuhan gulma air secara masif. Temuan ini mengindikasikan adanya kesenjangan antara tingkat kepedulian yang tinggi dengan perilaku nyata masyarakat dalam menjaga lingkungan. Oleh karena itu, relevansi antara kepedulian dan perilaku masyarakat belum sepenuhnya terwujud dalam praktik kehidupan sehari-hari, sehingga diperlukan strategi pendidikan lingkungan dan penguatan regulasi untuk memastikan nilai-nilai etika lingkungan tercermin dalam perilaku nyata masyarakat.

Abstract

Leukemia is caused by abnormal white blood cell proliferation that leads to disruption of conventional blood cell functions. Mangosteen (Garcinia mangostana L.) contains phytochemical compounds with strong anticancer properties, according to various cancer studies. This study investigated the potential of mangosteen peel extract (MPE) as an anti-leukemia agent through molecular docking of LC-MS-identified compounds against FLT-1 and AKT proteins, followed by in vitro evaluation on HL-60 cells, namely cytotoxic (WST-8 assay), ROS levels and senescence (flow cytometry), and then FLT1 and AKT gene expression (qRT-PCR). LC-MS identified α-mangostin, β-mangostin, γ-mangostin, mangostinone, and epicatechin as the main compounds. Molecular docking revealed strong binding affinities from −8.5 to −9.9 kcal/mol against AKT, and from −9.0 to −9.9 kcal/mol against FLT-1. MPE (500 µg/mL) decreased cell viability and increased inhibition of HL-60 cells. Intracellular ROS levels decreased significantly at 0.6, 1.2, and 2.4 µg/mL MPE. MPE induced cell senescence especially at 1.2 and 2.4 µg/mL. Gene expression analysis revealed downregulation of AKT at 1.2 and 2.4 µg/mL and FLT1 at 2.4 µg/mL. These findings suggest that MPE may exert multifactorial anti-leukemic mechanisms, including apoptosis, ROS modulation, senescence induction, and regulation of AKT and FLT1 expression.

Abstract

Household waste is one of the significant sources of environmental pollution in various urban areas, including in the waters of Geger Arum Area, Bandung. The use of water spinach (Ipomea aquatica Forsk.) for phytoremediation of household waste is an environmentally friendly and potentially effective alternative. This research aims to investigate the potential of Ipomoea aquatica Forsk. in phytoremediation of household waste. The method employed is a Completely Randomized Design experiment by testing Ipomoea aquatica plants to improve the quality of household wastewater. Treatments given include dilution of waste by 25%, 50%, and 75%. Based on statistical tests, physical and chemical parameters have a significant effect on the quality of household liquid waste. The results showed that the most optimum treatment was the treatment with 50%. dilution. Thus, the application of phytoremediation using water spinach has the potential to be a solution to overcome pollution of household wastewaters.

Abstract

This research aims to assess the efficacy of three distinct types of aquatic plants, namely Nymphaea sp., Hydrocotyle sp., and Spirodela sp., in wastewater bioremediation from the laundry industry. The wastewater from the laundry industry contains a range of chemical substances that have the potential to pollute the surrounding environment. These include detergents, fragrances, and other chemicals that can cause pollution of the aquatic environment. The research method entailed the simultaneous planting of the three types of aquatic plants in controlled containers with the tested laundry wastewater. The temperature, pH, total dissolved solids (TDS), and dissolved oxygen (DO) of the laundry water effluent were measured before and after passing through the aquatic plant system. The results demonstrated that all three types of aquatic plants exhibited the capacity to reduce the concentration of TDS in laundry wastewater. The study revealed that there were notable differences in the effectiveness of various aquatic plant species in reducing TDS. Of the three plant species examined, Spirodela sp. demonstrated the greatest potential for reducing detergent concentrations, as indicated by a notable decrease in TDS.

Abstract

The water hyacinth plant (Eichhornia crassipes) is often used for the phytoremediation process. This is because water hyacinth is a plant that is easy to find, besides that water hyacinth is able to grow in polluted waters and is able to produce biomass. This study aims to analyze changes in pH, TDS, temperature and DO levels in domestic wastewater at the Sigay waterfall which was treated with Eichhornia crassipes (water hyacinth) plants with the addition of palm fiber and gravel over a treatment period of 3, 6 and 9 days in retention ponds, as well to determine the optimum time for phytoremediation of Eichhornia crassipes in retention ponds. crassipes (Water hyacinth) during the experiment. The experimental reactor consisted of 3 treatments, namely water hyacinth fiber palm+gravel for 3 days (T-H3), 6 days (T-H6) and 9 days (T-H9) with reactor without treatment as the control. Each reactor is filled with 3L of leachate. The reactor is left in the open and exposed to sunlight. Data were processed using the ANOVA test. The results show a value of P= 0.027 for pH, P=0.026 for temperature, P=0.003 for TDS and 0.066 for the DO test with a value of α=0.05, which indicates that if P0.05 there is a significant difference between each treatment.

Abstract

Ir. H. Djuanda Forest Park (Tahura) is a protected area of 526.98 hectares that functions as a protected forest and tourist attraction. With 85% local flora and 15% from other bioregions, Tahura provides research, education, and recreation facilities. The area is made up of secondary natural forest and plantation forest, serving as a natural laboratory with vegetation from 40 families and 112 species, including both native and exotic plants. This research aims to develop the educational tourism package "Floradventure" to help tourists recognize the flora of Tahura Djuanda. The study was conducted in March 2024 using qualitative descriptive methods, feasibility study analysis, and SWOT analysis. The results show that the 'Floradventure' ecotourism site in Tahura has advantages in terms of accessibility, public facilities, and potential collaboration for additional facilities. Careful planning and evaluation are necessary for the success and sustainability of this educational tourism package.
