Abstract

The district of Wonosalam in Jombang, Indonesia, harbors significant potential in the agribusiness sector, with a particular focus on Excelsa coffee. Excelsa coffee is currently being cultivated with the vision of establishing it as a signature commodity of Wonosalam. This study is dedicated to analyzing the value transformation that occurs during the conversion of coffee cherries into green beans, further processing of green beans into roasted beans, and providing recommendations for enhancing added value. The study employed a purposive sampling technique, with data analysis conducted using the Hayami method. Nineteen respondents engaged in Excelsa coffee processing participated in the study. The findings of this study demonstrate that the conversion of cherries into Excelsa coffee green beans and the subsequent transformation of green beans into roasted beans indeed contribute to increased value. Specifically, the added value of green beans for Excelsa coffee amounts to IDR 1,153 per kilogram, while the added value for red-picked Excelsa coffee reaches IDR 4,458 per kilogram. Furthermore, the added value of Random Excelsa coffee roast beans is calculated at IDR 12,525 per kilogram, with red-picked Excelsa coffee roast beans achieving an added value of IDR 35,525 per kilogram. To further enhance the added value of Excelsa coffee, improvements can be made in post-harvest quality and downstream processing of coffee.

Abstract

Sawér Pangantén is a form of Sundanese oral literature that serves as a medium for advice and prayer in wedding ceremonies.  This study aims to reveal the denotative, connotative, and mythical meanings in Sawér Pangantén texts and the cultural values they contain. Previous studies have primarily emphasized the normative function of this tradition and have not positioned sawér as an ideological mechanism that shapes and normalizes social perceptions of marriage. This research employs a qualitative approach using textual analysis based on Roland Barthes’ semiotics. The data consist of a sixteen-stanza Sawér Pangantén text obtained through recorded oral narration from a native informant in Cisewu, Garut Regency, and subsequently transcribed verbatim. The analysis was conducted stanza by stanza by mapping the relationship between signifier and signified (denotation), cultural meaning (connotation), and second-order signification (myth) that naturalizes ideology. The findings reveal four axes of the myth of marriage: the social legitimation of husband-wife status, orientation toward well-being and harmonious prosperity, divine and ancestral legitimation, and an ethic of sacred caution articulated through prayer. At the level of myth, marriage is legitimized as a sacred institution aligned with divine will and accepted as a naturalized social order within Sundanese society.

Abstract

This study discusses Aan Mansyur's digital poem entitled TETAPI, TIDAK uploaded via the Instagram account @apoetographer. The background of this study stems from the phenomenon of poetry that combines literary style and visual elements on Instagram. The purpose of this study is to reveal how literary style as a verbal aspect and visual aspect of poetry resonate. The method used is descriptive qualitative with a stylistic approach by Pradopo (2021). The results show that Aan Mansyur uses language style to emphasise social criticism and moral awareness. The visual element of purple-green colour gradation reinforces the reflective and contemplative atmosphere. The conclusion of this study confirms that Aan Mansyur's digital poetry presents verbal and visual resonance, namely the harmony between the power of language and visual elements that reinforce each other in building an aesthetic experience. This resonance shows the transformation of the function of poetry in the digital era from a mere medium of expression to a reflective, empathetic, and humanistic space that unites words and colours in a single contemporary aesthetic consciousness.
