Abstract

ABSTRACTStunting in Tulungagung Regency is still a serious threat to the health of infants and toddlers. The Covid-19 pandemic has hampered posyandu activities as health service facilities in the community. Strengthening the knowledge and skills of posyandu cadres is very important, because posyandu cadres are educational agents who are directly related to mothers of toddlers. This community service aims to increase the role of posyandu cadres in an effort to reduce stunting through the development of healthy snack innovations from high-protein flour products. There were three methods, namely counseling, training and mentoring. Counseling on stunting and the use of local food, training on making healthy snacks based on high-protein mixed flour, as well as mentoring participants in the development and innovation of healthy snacks based on high-protein mixed flour. The community service program was carried out in a hybrid manner, namely online and offline in the work area of the Pakel Health Center, with a total of 50 participants. The counseling was carried out using visual power point media, training with demonstrations of making healthy snacks, and mentoring which contained direct practice of making healthy snacks independently for two weeks after the counseling and training activities were carried out. The result shows that community service in the form of counseling has an impact on increasing the knowledge of Posyandu cadres at Pakel Health Center, by 4,5%. Training and assistance in making healthy snacks can also be practiced independently by cadres and mothers of toddlers as evidenced by the success and emergence of various menus. In conclusion, the counseling, training, and assistance provided were able to increase the creativity of posyandu cadres and mothers of toddlers in creating healthy snacks based on high-protein mixed flour as an acceleration of stunting prevention.

Abstract

Abstract. A lack of fruit and vegetable intake can increase the risk of malnutrition and obesity, which contribute to the prevalence of non-communicable diseases such as coronary heart disease, stroke, hypertension, and diabetes mellitus. Among elementary school children, a significant factor is the lack of awareness about the importance of consuming these foods. The GEMBUS (Movement for Eating Fruits and Vegetables) educational activity conducted at SDN Mulyorejo I Surabaya used visual, audio, and audio-visual media to address the awareness issue regarding the importance of consuming fruits and vegetables. This activity targeted students from classes 5A and 6A during the 2022/2023 academic year, with a total of 71 students. The objective of the GEMBUS education was to increase knowledge about the importance of consuming fruits and vegetables. The Wilcoxon test was used to determine the difference between the pre-test and post-test results. With a p-value of 0.000 (α<0.05), the study concluded that the GEMBUS educational activity successfully achieved its goal of raising awareness about the importance of fruit and vegetable consumption among the target group.

Abstract

Background: Sophisticated technology provides many conveniences for humans, as well as education that cannot be separated from it, especially during this COVID-19 pandemic in which the learning methods are carried out online. This is what causes the intensity of using a computer or laptop to increase so that it can trigger the occurrence of visual impairment, namely Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS). There is no definite data regarding CVS and CVS research on university students, especially in Surabaya, is still very small. Objectives: This study aims to analyze the risk factors for CVS among college students during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: This research was analytic observational research with a cross-sectional research design. This research was conducted from December 2020 to June 2021. The sampling method used was a systematic random sampling addressed to 249 Public Health undergraduate students from the second, fourth, and sixth semesters. The instrument used was CVS-Q with additional questions related to respondent identity, medical history, and computer-usage behavior. Furthermore, the data were analyzed by calculating the Odds Ratio (OR) with a 95% confidence interval (CI). Results: Gender (OR = 2.54) and a history of eye disorders (OR = 4.01) were risk factors for Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS) in S1 Public Health Science students. Conclusions: This research shows that the risk factors for CVS are gender and a history of eye disorders. The students who use computers with high intensity should take CVS precautions, such as applying the 20-20-20 rule, using anti-radiation glasses, adjusting the brightness of the computer screen, adding an anti-glare on the computer screen, avoiding working in a dark room, and performing an ergonomic body position when using a computer.
