Abstract

This study was conducted from 17 March until 28 April 2014 in the waters of Hamlet Village Sugie Subdistrict Moro Karimun District of Riau Islands province. The method used is an experimental with 1 factors and five level of treatment and 3 replications. 1 meter rope tied with 100 g of seaweed seed with different space of 10 cm, 15 cm, 20 cm, 25 cm and 30 cm respectively. Data were analyzed using ANAVA (P<0.05). Based on the findings that the was best of (Kappaphycus alvarezii) on density with the specific growth rate highest of 30 cm was (766.67 g/clump; 4.99%) and the lowest density of 10 cm with an average weight (212 g/clump; 1.80%). while the highest dried seaweed production was in the treatment of 15 cm with a dry weight of 370.42 g/ hanging rope and the lowest of 10 cm with a weight of dry production 265 g/ hanging rope.Keyword : K. alvarezii, Seaweed Production, Hanging Rope Method, Growth, Karimun

Abstract

This research was conducted on February 23th until March 23rd 2015 held at Brackishwater Aquaculture Development Center Jepara, Central of Java. This research aimed to know the growth and survival rate of Grouper (Cromileptes altivelis) with different combination and percentage treatment of feed. The method used in this study was an experimental method with Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with one factor and three replication there were, P1 (90% fresh trash fish ; 10% pellet), P2 (70% fresh trash fish ; 30% pellet), P3 (50% fresh trash fish ; 50% pellet). In this research were used a grouper with total length 5cm and total weight 2,5 g, were than kept in plastics tank with 30 cm diameter and 18 cm height were tied with plastic’s rope on the pipe. The results showed that different combination and percentage treatment of feed gave effects with grouper’s growth and the survival rate. The best percentage of treatment was P1 (90% fresh trash fish ; 10% pellet) with total weight 5,65 g, specific growth rate 2,34%, and the survival rate 100%.Key word: Grouper, Growth, Survival rate, Feed combination

Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of adding carrot flour (Daucuscarrota L) to artificial feed on the brightness of the color of Tiger barb. The method used in this study is the experimental method using a completely randomized design (CRD) of 1 factor with 4 levels of treatment, and 3 replications. The dose of carrot flour in this study was 0% (control), 5%, 10%, 15%. The feed was tested on Sumatran fish measuring ± 3 cm long which was maintained in an aquarium measuring (30x40x40) cm3. The parameters measured include the brightness of the color, growth, survival, and water quality. The results showed that the addition of carrot flour to feed can increase the color of Tiger barb. The best dose is 15% which can increase the brightness of color 3.53, absolute weight growth of 0.54 grams, and growth of absolute length of 0.65 cm. Abstract

ABSTRACTThe research was aimed to assess the effect of giving recombinant Growth Hormone (rGH) in commercial feed with different dosage for specific growth rate, feed efficiency of (Hemibagrus nemurus). Which were treatment 0, 2, 4, 6 and 8 mg/kg of commercial feed PF 800. The experimental design used was completely randomized design with 5 treatments and 4 replicates. Catfishes at average 4-5 cm were reared in each of net cage (1x1x1) m3 in a density 20 fish/net cage for 40 days. The fish were fed with the rGH supplemented diet once a three days 10% body weight. The data observed were for specific growth rate, feed efficiency, feed convertion rate, survival rate and water quality. Data were analyzed by using ANOVA to see the difference then tested with Student Newman-Keuls to see the best treatment. The conclusion shown that the combination of rGH and commercial feed were giving affect significantly (P<0,05) for specific growth rate, feed efficiency, feed convertion rate and survival rate. Best treatment that affected the value of specific growth rate, feed efficiency, feed convertion rate and survival rate is treatment rGH with dosage of 2 mg/kg feed with value of Specific growth rate (6,52%), feed efficiency (96,50%), feed convertion rate (1,03) and survival rate (96,25%). That addition of rGH 2 mg/kg was the best treatment can improve growth and feed efficiency of (Hemibagrus nemurus) and this technology application can be useful to increase aquaculture production. Keywoard : Hemibagrus nemurus, recombinan growth hormone, growth, efisiensi pakan

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research was conducted in April until May 2018, at the Laboratory of Aquaculture Technology, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine, University of Riau. The study aims of to influence the addition of astaxanthin in artificial feed to increase the color quality of Tiger Barb (Puntius tetrazona) and get the best dose of astaxanthin. This study uses an experimental method with a completely randomized design (CRD) of one factor with 4 treatment levels and 3 replications. The dose of astaxanthin in the treatment were: 0% astaxanthin, 1% astaxanthin, 3% astaxanthin, 5% astaxanthin. The size of fish was used is 3-5 cm with 10 stocking densities per aquarium. Maintenance lasts for 30 days and feed is given as much as 3% of the weight of biomass, the frequency of feeding is 3 times a day. Parameters observed included fish color, absolute length growth and absolute weight, survival rate and water quality. The results showed that the administration of astaxanthin had a significant effect on changes in the quality of the color of the Tiger Barb. The best treatment was at a dose of 5% which improved the quality of chest color 12.77, body 9.16, tail 14.00. The best absolute length growth is 0.55 cm, absolute weight is 0.47 grams and fish life is 100%. Keywords: Astaxanthin; Color; Tiger Barb; Puntius tetrazona

Abstract

This research was conducted from December2015 until January 2016 at Technology Research and Development Center in Riau Balitbang.Thepurpose of this research was to investigate growth and survival rate of african catfish with addition bacterial dose in bioflocs techniques. This research using experimental method and completely random design (RAL) with three treatment and two replications, fourare P1 : 10 mL/m3 bacterial dose, P2 : 15 mL/m3bacterial dose, P3 : 20mL/m3bacterial dose. The result showed that african catfish with addition bacterial dose in bioflocs techniques affect significantly on the growth of absolute weight, the specific growth, but does not affect absolute length growth and survival rate. The best treatment were obtained in treatment P2 with 15mL/m3 bacterial dose, with value growth of absolute weight 50,15g, growth in absolute length 13,97cm, specific growth rate 3,39% and survival rate 98,16 %.   Keyword : african catfish, Dose bacteria, Bioflocs technology
