Abstract

This study aims to formulate and evaluate the preparation of an anti-aging cream made from astaxanthin. Astaxanthin has antioxidant activity, as well as other carotenoid compounds. Astaxanthin shows more significant antioxidant activity than ?-carotene; thus,developing astaxanthin compounds in cream preparations is necessary. This type of experimental laboratory research compares three different concentrations of astaxanthin compounds, including formula I (0.5%), formula II (0.75%), and formula III (1%). Evaluation of the astaxanthin compound cream preparations stability included organoleptic observations (smell, color, texture), pH test, homogeneity test, viscosity test, spreadability test, adhesion test, and freeze-thaw test. The results of the quality inspection of organoleptic preparations revealed no difference between the preparations in the form of color, smell, and texture.The homogeneity test showed a homogeneous preparation; the pH test produced was 5.5-5.8, the viscosity test of the preparation produced was 5140 Cp, 5250 Cp, and 7000 Cp, the adhesion test was 6.40-7.83 seconds, the dispersion test was 5-5.9 cm, and the Freeze-thaw test showed that there was no significant change in the pH test, organoleptic test, spreadability, adhesion, homogeneity, and viscosity. Thus, it can be concluded that the three astaxanthin compound cream formulas have good stability.

Abstract

Stunting is a condition of failure to thrive in children under five due to chronic malnutrition so that children are too short for their age. Malnutrition occurs since the baby is in the womb and in the early days after the baby is born, however, stunting only appears after the baby is 2 years old. Data on the prevalence of stunting under five collected by WHO, Indonesia is included in the third country with the highest prevalence in the Southeast Asia region. The average prevalence of stunting under five in Indonesia in 2005 - 2017 was 36.4%. According to the national target, Bone Bolango Regency is one of the 260 Regencies/Cities, priority areas for accelerating the national stunting prevention in 2019. But until now, the prevalence of stunting in Bone Bolango is still high, namely 25.1%, which is above the standard rate. tolerated by WHO, which is below 20%. Based on the results of observations in Pelita Jaya Village, Bone Bolango Regency, cases of stunting that occur are closely related to the lack of availability of clean latrines, where there are still houses that do not have latrines that comply with sanitation requirements. This can trigger cases of infection in children. And if this infection occurs repeatedly, it can cause toddlers and children to experience electrolyte and nutritional deficiencies. So that it can lead to disruption of child development. Based on this, the Service Team, Lecturers of the Faculty of Sports and Health, State University of Gorontalo, need to conduct socialization, training and manufacture of herbal hand sanitizer and hand washing products to improve clean and healthy living behavior in the community, so that they are free from infectious diseases and the risk of stunting.

Abstract

Minyak biji kelor merupakan tanaman yang memiliki efek antioksidan karena memiliki kandungan flavanoid yang tinggi, sehingga perlu dilakukan pengembangan minyak biji kelor dalam bentuk sediaan krim. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memformulasi serta mengevaluasi sediaan krim. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental laboratorium. Sediaan krim dibuat dengan dengan tiga formula konsentrasi minyak biji kelor yang berbeda yaitu FI (3%); FII (4%); FIII (5%). Evaluasi stabilitas sediaan krim meliputi pengamatan organoleptik (bau, warna, tekstur), uji homogenitas, uji pH, uji viskositas, dan uji daya sebar. Hasil pemeriksaan mutu sediaan organoleptik menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi konsentrasi dalam sediaan krim maka semakin kental pula sediaan tersebut, uji homogenitas sediaan menunjukkan susunan yang homogen, uji pH yang dihasilkan 5,8-6,1, uji viskositas sediaan yang dihasilkan 5900 Cp, 5300 Cp, dan 5240 Cp, dan uji daya sebar yang dihasilkan 7 cm, 6,5 cm, 5,5 cm. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa FI, FII dan FIII krim minyak biji kelor dapat diformulasikan sebagai sediaan krim.Moringa seed oil is a plant that has an antioxidant effect because it has a high flavonoid content, so it is necessary to develop Moringa seed oil in the form of cream preparations. This study aims to formulate and evaluate cream preparations. This research is an experimental laboratory research. Cream preparations were made with three different concentration formulas of Moringa seed oil, namely FI (3%); FII (4%); FIII (5%). Evaluation of the stability of the cream preparation included organoleptic observations (smell, color, texture), homogeneity test, pH test, viscosity test, and spreadability test. The results of the quality inspection of organoleptic preparations showed that the higher the concentration in the cream preparation, the thicker the preparation, the homogeneity test of the preparation showed a homogeneous arrangement, the pH test produced was 5.8 -6.1, the viscosity test of the preparation produced 5900 Cp, 5300 Cp , and 5240 Cp, and the resulting dispersion test was 7 cm, 6.5 cm, 5.5 cm. So it can be concluded that FI, FII and FIII Moringa seed oil cream can be formulated as a cream preparation.

Abstract

The probability of side effects of herbal medicine refers to the negative or undesirable impacts that may arise after consuming products made from natural ingredients or plants. This can include various physical reactions, health issues, or unwanted disorders, ranging from mild to severe. It's important to remember that while herbal medicines are often seen as a more natural option, they still have the potential to cause side effects, just like synthetic drugs. The aim of this research is to identify the probability of side effects of herbal medicine. This research is an observational study with a quantitative descriptive research design using a cross-sectional approach. This research method uses the Naranjo Algorithm. The results indicate that based on the assessment of the causality of ADRs, the outcomes obtained are possible (82.47%), probable (10.31%), and doubtful (7.22%).

Abstract

Antosianin merupakan salah satu zat aktif yang dapat diformulasikan dalam sediaan krim. Namun antosianin memiliki kestabilan yang sering berubah ubah. Untuk itu antosianin diformulasikan ke dalam bentuk niosom untuk meningkatkan kestabilan antosianin di dalam stratum korneum serta dibuatlah dalam sediaan krim dengan penambahan skin lipid matriks_2026 yang digunakan sebagai basis krim serta memiliki aktivitas sebagai emulgator. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh Skin lipid matriks_2026 terhadap stabilitas fisik dan laju pelepasan krim niosom antosianin secara in vitro. Metode penelitian ini diawali dengan pembuatan niosom menggunakan metode injeksi pelarut etanol kemudian dilakukan karakterisasi meliputi ukuran partikel menggunakan Particle Size Analyzer (PSA) dan persen efisiensi penjerapan (%EP). Niosom Antosianin diformulasikan ke dalam bentuk krim dan dilakukan evaluasi fisik serta uji penetrasi menggunakan metode difusi franz. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan karakterisasi F1, F2, dan F3 secara berturut-turut yaitu persen efisiensi penjerapan sebesar 67,16%, 93,66%, dan 100% dengan ukuran partikel sebesar 205,5 nm, 157 nm, 257 nm serta indeks polidispersitas sebesar 0,235, 0,195, dan 0,355. Ketiga formula krim memenuhi persyaratan evaluasi fisik sediaan krim yang baik. Hasil uji penetrasi menunjukkan jumlah kumulatif antosianin yang terpenetrasi selama 24 jam untuk F1, F2, dan F3 secara berturut-turut adalah 199,835 μg/cm2, 306,0784 μg/cm2, dan 209,2437 μg/cm2. Tidak terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan dari variasi konsentrasi antosianin yang digunakan dalam formula terhadap penetrasi krim niosom antosianin.

Abstract

Aur-aur dan Pulai merupakan tumbuhan dengan banyak manfaat. Secara empiris, daun dari kedua tumbuhan ini dapat digunakan sebagai obat batuk oleh masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas yang baik antara dosis kombinasi kedua ekstrak dengan dosis tunggal masing-masing sediaan dan mengetahui konsentrasi dari kombinasi ekstrak yang dapat memberikan efektivitas mukolitik yang baik. Penelitian ini diawali dengan ekstraksi masing-masing sampel daun aur-aur dan daun pulai secara maserasi menggunakan pelarut etanol 70% dan pengujian efektivitas mukolitik menggunakan viskometer Brookfield terhadap penurunan viskositas mukus sapi. Larutan uji dibuat dengan konsentrasi 0,25%, 0,5%, dan 1% dalam bentuk sediaan tunggal dan kombinasi yang dicampurkan dengan larutan mukus-dapar fosfat pH 7. Larutan uji diinkubasi selama 30 menit pada suhu 37oC. Kontrol positif yang digunakan adalah obat asetilsistein 0,1% dan kontrol negatifnya adalah larutan mukus tanpa ekstrak. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi ekstrak daun aur-aur dan daun pulai memiliki efektivitas mukolitik yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan dosis tunggal masing-masing ekstrak dan konsentrasi 0,25% ekstrak kombinasi sudah menunjukkan efektivitas mukolitik yang lebih baik daripada dosis tunggal masing-masing sediaan.

Abstract

Aplikasi Kalender Pola Sehat Hipertensi merupakan inovasi digital untuk meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat Desa Mutiara dalam memantau kesehatan—khususnya tekanan darah dan kadar gula—serta mendorong pola hidup sehat guna pencegahan hipertensi dan penyakit tidak menular. Metode pengabdian meliputi: (1) persiapan dan sosialisasi kepada warga mengenai cara mengakses dan memanfaatkan kalender edukasi harian pada aplikasi (https://hulawadu.hulawadu-htc.site/kalender.php) melalui pertemuan langsung serta penyebaran informasi via media sosial, brosur, dan poster; (2) implementasi penggunaan aplikasi tanpa pendaftaran, di mana pengguna memilih tahun dan bulan untuk menerima edukasi harian tentang pola makan, aktivitas fisik, dan manajemen stres; (3) edukasi bulanan secara daring melalui grup WhatsApp/media sosial yang dipandu tenaga kesehatan dengan sesi tanya jawab; (4) kolaborasi dengan Puskesmas untuk pendampingan penggunaan aplikasi dan pemeriksaan kesehatan rutin; serta (5) pemantauan dan evaluasi melalui analitik sederhana (frekuensi akses dan keterikatan pada materi) dan pelaporan berkala kepada pemangku kepentingan. Hasil pada 40 pengguna menunjukkan 30% pengguna mengakses aplikasi 3 kali/minggu dengan penurunan tekanan darah 5 mmHg pada 60% dan penurunan gula darah 10 mg/dL pada 55% pengguna. Kelompok yang lebih aktif (30% mengakses 4 kali/minggu) menunjukkan kepatuhan tinggi terhadap edukasi (50%) dengan capaian penurunan tekanan darah (40%) dan gula darah (45%). Temuan ini mengindikasikan korelasi positif antara frekuensi penggunaan, kepatuhan, dan dampak kesehatan. Simpulan: kolaborasi dengan tenaga kesehatan dan pemantauan rutin memperkuat efektivitas aplikasi sebagai alat pencegahan hipertensi di masyarakat.

Abstract

Burn injuries are a significant health concern requiring effective treatment to accelerate healing and reduce complications. Conventional topical therapies often have limitations, prompting the development of alternative treatments. Snakehead fish extract, rich in bioactive compounds, has been traditionally used for wound healing. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of an emulgel containing snakehead fish dry extract at different concentrations for burn wound treatment in rabbits. Three emulgels were formulated with extract concentrations of 0.25%, 0.5%, and 1%, then characterized for physicochemical properties, including pH, viscosity, spreadability, and adhesion. Protein content was determined using the Bradford method. An in vivo study was performed on rabbits with second-degree burn wounds, divided into five groups: negative control (emulgel base), positive control (Burnazine cream), and treatment groups receiving 0.25%, 0.5%, and 1% extract emulgel. Wound healing was assessed by measuring wound contraction for 16 days. Organoleptic tests showed no changes in color, odor, or homogeneity during four weeks of storage. The emulgel formulations showed stable physicochemical properties, with pH 6.0–6.5, viscosity 8000–10000 cPs, spreadability 6.8–6.9 cm, and adhesion time over 4 seconds, suitable for skin application. Protein content increased proportionally with extract concentration. The in vivo study showed that 1% extract emulgel significantly accelerated wound healing, with greater wound contraction compared to both controls (p < 0.05). No irritation, erythema, or edema were observed, indicating safety. The 1% snakehead fish dry extract emulgel achieved the most effective burn wound healing in rabbits. The formulation is stable, safe, and has strong potential as a natural alternative for burn treatment.

Abstract

Hypertension is a chronic condition characterized by persistent elevation of blood pressure above normal limits, which increases morbidity and mortality risk. A systolic blood pressure ≥140 mmHg reflects pressure during cardiac contraction, while a diastolic blood pressure ≥90 mmHg reflects pressure during cardiac relaxation. This study aimed to evaluate the use of antihypertensive drugs in Prolanis patients with persistent hypertension at the North Gorontalo City Health Centre. An observational design was applied using secondary data from medical records of 42 patients who received antihypertensive therapy between January and June 2025. Amlodipine was the most commonly prescribed agent in monotherapy, while combinations of two to five drugs were frequently used. The evaluation revealed that drug selection was appropriate (100%), dosage accuracy was 86%, and adherence to usage rules reached 98%, although some inappropriate dosages and usage instructions were still identified. These findings underscore the need for systematic monitoring, regular prescription audits, strengthened verification processes, laboratory monitoring, and patient education to enhance the safety and effectiveness of hypertension management in primary care.

Abstract

Ceramide merupakan komponen utama lipid interseluler dari stratum korneum yang diproduksi secara alami di kulit. Namun ceramide dapat berkurang seiring dengan bertambahnya usia dan faktor lainnya sehingga menyebabkan kulit menjadi kering. Untuk itu ceramide diformulasikan ke dalam bentuk liposom yang selanjutnya dibuat dalam bentuk krim dengan basis PhytoSolve 8004. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh PhytoSolve 8004 terhadap stabilitas fisik krim liposom ceramide. Penelitian ini diawali dengan pembuatan liposom ceramide kemudian dilakukan karakterisasi menggunakan PSA (Particle Size Analyzer) dengan hasil 104 nm, PDI yaitu 0,205; dan entrapment efficiency sebesar 79,07%. Selanjutnya dilakukan pembuatan sediaan krim dengan berbagai variasi konsentrasi PhytoSolve 8004 yaitu F1 10%; F2 15%; dan F3 20%. Ketiga formula dievaluasi sifat fisiknya meliputi uji organoleptis, uji homogenitas, uji pH, uji daya sebar, uji daya lekat, uji viskositas dan pengujian freeze thaw. Hasil evaluasi fisik dari ketiga formula sediaan krim liposom ceramide memenuhi persyaratan evaluasi fisik yang baik. Tidak terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan dari variasi konsentrasi PhytoSolve 8004 yang digunakan dalam formula terhadap stabilitas fisik krim liposom ceramide.
