Abstract

Nowadays, incorporating technology into language instruction is crucial for enhancing students' speaking abilities, particularly in a professional setting. One of the fundamental skills in learning English is speaking, which is crucial for students in the tourism industry attending vocational high schools (SMK). This is due to the fact that the tourism industry needs employees who can interact with foreign visitors in a variety of service contexts. This study employs the ADDE (Analysis, Design, Development, and Evaluation) learning approach in conjunction with the design and development (DnD) model put forth by Richey & Klein, (2005). The goal of the design and development strategy is to produce an attractive infographic that will aid English teachers at Buleleng's vocational high schools in better understanding how to teach speaking with CakeApp. The goal of this project is to create infographics that teach speaking skills to SMK Pariwisata class XII students using the Cakeapp application. In addition, the results of expert validation show that the resulting infographics are of very high quality, with an average validation value of 91.5% given by experts. Based on these findings, it shows that the use of CakeApp-based infographics helps tourism students practice speaking skills effectively. The practical implication of this study is that teachers at tourism vocational schools can use this CakeApp-based infographic to support students' speaking learning process in class.

Abstract

Character education values are frequently presented in animated movies. While many values can be identified from one character in a movie, the present study highlights the five core values proposed by the Ministry of National Education in the characterization of Miguel Rivera from Disney’s Coco (2017). The present study employed textual analysis to identify the representation of character education values. Data analysis was conducted simultaneously with the data collection, data reduction, data display and conclusion drawing. The analysis revealed that Miguel Rivera’s characterizations reflect the traits of religiosity, nationalism, independence, integrity, and mutual cooperation. Because the movie is centered around the conflict of Miguel Rivera’s passion to sing and play Mexican guitar and set around the Mexican celebration of Day of the Dead, Miguel Rivera’s adherence to the ritual of the Dead, his pride in the Mexican music and food strongly reflects his religious and nationalist values. His struggle about lying to his family, Ernesto de la Cruz, and Enrique Rivera shows his integrity. Furthermore, his kindness in helping others and his handwork to achieve his goal presented his cooperative values. These findings imply that children’s movies could give examples of character values by presenting visual images of how the characters’ actions.

Abstract

Enhancing students' speaking abilities requires integrating technology into language training, particularly in professional settings like tourism. For vocational high school (SMK) students working in the tourism industry, speaking is an essential skill because they must be able to interact with foreign tourists. The goal of this project is to create infographics based on CakeApp that will help Grade XII tourism students at Buleleng's vocational high schools learn how to speak. The study uses Richey Klein, (2005) Design and Development (DD) framework in conjunction with the ADDE (Analysis, Design, Development, Evaluation) model. The end result is a collection of infographics made to help teachers of English incorporate CakeApp into their speaking lessons. With an average score of 91.5%, expert validation results show that the infographics are of extremely high quality. These results imply that infographics based on CakeApp successfully improve students' speaking practice. Abstract

This study aims to develop interactive videos to support sixth-grade students in an inclusive classroom at SDN 2 Bengkala with their reading tasks. Particularly for pupils with exceptional needs, including deaf and mute learners, inclusive education poses additional difficulties. These difficulties emphasize the necessity for creative instructional resources catered to a range of learning capacities and styles. The ADDIE model, which has phases for analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation, is followed in the development process. The primary goal of the study is to identify the specific needs of students in inclusive classrooms, create interactive video to satisfy those needs, and evaluate the usefulness and content validity of the final products. The findings of the study emphasize the importance of visual and auditory elements in enhancing students' engagement and reading comprehension. The results help close the gap in educational possibilities for all children by providing a paradigm for developing interesting and easily available learning resources. Additionally, this study emphasizes how technology may help create a fair and inclusive learning environment so that children with special needs can get high-quality instruction.

Abstract

This research evaluated the effectiveness of the Pusat Bahasa program at Institut Teknologi dan Kesehatan Bali, especially on beginner-level students, using the Kirkpatrick Model as a framework. The data were collected from 35 beginner-level students through questionnaires, observation sheets, and interviews. The finding showed that 85% of the participants expressed satisfaction with the Pusat Bahasa program. The results indicated that the program efficiently increases students’ participation and interaction in classroom activities. However, some students expressed moderate satisfaction with the Pusat Bahasa program and highlighted the necessity of continuous program assessment and modification. Students also indicated that they wanted to speak with a native speaker. The high level of students’ satisfaction and active involvement indicates that the Pusat Bahasa program at Institut Teknologi dan Kesehatan Bali, especially for the beginner level, benefited students’ learning experiences. The increased level of classroom interaction suggests that the program design is appropriate to suit the students’ needs. However, there was a clear need for program improvement.
