Abstract

Background The Indonesian government pays quite high attention, because of the importance of exclusive breastfeeding for the growth and development of babies. In 2012, Government Regulation (PP) no. 33 regarding exclusive breastfeeding. The PP states that exclusive breastfeeding is breast milk given to babies from birth for six months without adding and/or replacing other foods or drinks. It is also stated that every mother who gives birth must provide exclusive breast milk to the baby she gives birth to, unless there are justified obstacles. The aim is to guarantee the fulfillment of babies' rights to receive exclusive breast milk from birth until the age of six months. In order for the exclusive breastfeeding program to be successful, it requires support from all elements, including government, private sector and society. Objective To determine the relationship between maternal characteristics and the implementation of IMD with exclusive breastfeeding at the Pegajahan Community Health Center, Pegajahan District, Serdang Bedagai District in 2023. Method chi square test p value < 0.05 means H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, the statistical test results show a significant relationship. Results: There is no significant relationship between age, education, profession and mother's parity and there is a significant relationship between the implementation of IMD and exclusive breastfeeding at the Pegajahan Community Health Center, Pegajahan District, Serdang Bedagai District.

Abstract

A pregnant woman is a woman who carries a fetus in her womb after being fertilized BACKGROUND by spermatozoa. Pregnancy is a special situation for a woman as a prospective mother, because during pregnancy there will be physical changes that affect her life. During pregnancy, many changes will occur, both physical, social and mental. Pregnant mothers must have adequate nutrition, because the nutrition they get will be used for themselves and their fetus. For pregnant women, basically all nutrients require supplementation, but what is often lacking is protein energy and several minerals such as iron (Pantiawati in Mulyani, 2017). Breast care is a health behavior. Health behavior (according to Skinner) is: "a person's response to stimuli related to illness and disease, the health service system, eating and drinking, and the environment" (Unimus, 2012). Becker describes health behavior into three domains, namely health knowledge, attitudes towards health, and health practices (Wikipedia, 2012). According to Lawrence Green (1980) in Notoadmodjo (2007) there are 2 factors that influence human behavior in terms of health, namely: internal factors which include knowledge, perception, emotions, motivation, socio-economics and culture, and external factors, namely the environment. So far, from the literature that researchers have examined, there have been many studies that discuss breast care behavior, both during the antenatal period and during pregnancy.OBJECTIVE To analyze the relationship between factors that influence pregnant women in carrying out breast care at the Pratama Nirmala Clinic in 2023. METHOD chi square test p value < 0.05 means H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted as a statistical test result of a significant relationship. Abstract

BACKGROUND The exact incidence of infertility is not yet known with certainty, it varies greatly. Birth can occur in two ways, normal or natural (vaginal) and abnormal or delivery which is usually known as caesarean section. SC (Sectio Caesarea) is an artificial birth where the fetus is born through an incision in the abdominal wall and uterus, which can result in bleeding and incision wounds (Meo, 2021). In Indonesia, the number of caesarean sections increases along with the incidence of post-SC wound infections, where around 90% of post-cesarean section morbidity in the data obtained is caused by surgical wound infections. The incidence of caesarean sections (SC) is increasing every year, and according to the World Health Organization the standard for caesarean sections in a country is 5-10% of every newborn in the world (Hastutik, 2020).OBJECTIVE: To analyze the relationship between postpartum mothers' knowledge about post-SC wound care and the incidence of SC wound infections in Multatuli Village, Natal District, Mandailing Natal Regency in 2023. METHOD chi square test p value < 0.05 means H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, the statistical test results show a significant relationship . RESULTS: There is a significant relationship between the knowledge of postpartum mothers regarding post-SC wound care and the incidence of SC wound infections. Abstract

Children require special attention as the nation's next generation. The World Health Organization stated that the maternal mortality rate worldwide in 2019 was around 295,000 women who died during and after pregnancy and childbirth. The majority (94%) of maternal deaths occur in low and middle income countries (WHO, 2020). At the 2020 National Working Meeting, the maternal mortality rate in Indonesia in 2019 was still 305 per 100,000 live births (Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, 2020), which is still high when compared to Indonesia's target in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2030, namely 70 per 100,000 live births. (Pusdatin, 2019). The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) era began in 2019 with a program to reduce pregnancy-related morbidity and mortality rates, the achievements of which are still very high in the world. The World Health Organization (WHO) projects that every pregnant woman and newborn needs quality care from pregnancy to the postpartum period. Prenatal care in Indonesia plays an important role in providing quality care, because antenatal care includes elements of health promotion, screening, diagnosis and disease prevention. Indonesia is currently one of the 13 countries with the highest proportion of maternal mortality rates in the world. The high maternal mortality rate is caused by complications during pregnancy. According to the World Health Organization (2019), around 287,000 mothers died due to complications during pregnancy and childbirth, such as bleeding 28%, preeclampsia/eclampsia 2%, infection 11%, and indirect causes (2019), obstetric trauma) 5%. Efforts made to minimize and prevent complications during childbirth are to carry out routine pregnancy checks. Antenatal Care (ANC) is a planned program in the form of observation, providing education and treatment for pregnant women to achieve a safe and satisfactory pregnancy and birth. Antenatal pregnancy checks are the frequency of pregnancy checks at existing health facilities, namely doctors, midwives, health centers, hospitals and other private health facilities. Antenatal examinations should be carried out at least four times during pregnancy, namely once in the first trimester, once in the second trimester and twice in the third trimester (Ministry of Health, 2017). Antenatal examination is a follow-up for pregnant women to prepare physically and mentally and save the mother and baby during pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum (Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, 2018). The importance of pregnancy checks through prenatal examinations, because in general pregnancies proceed normally, but with increasing gestational age it tends to cause dangerous complications (Rukiyah, 2013). Pregnancy checks are important to ensure that the natural process of pregnancy can run normally and continue so that pregnant women have a healthy and safe pregnancy. It is estimated that around 15% to 20% of all pregnant women will experience high risk conditions and obstetric complications that threaten the lives of both mother and fetus if not treated properly. Indonesian Ministry of Health, 2021). OBJECTIVE To analyze the factors related to Antenatal Care Visits at the Corah Pratama Clinic, Munte District, Karo Regency in 2023. METHOD chi square test p value < 0.05 means H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, the statistical test results show a significant relationship. RESULTS There is a relationship between age, knowledge and antenatal care visits at the Corah Pratama Clinic, Munte District, Karo Regency in 2023 and there is no relationship between parity and support from health workers and antenatal care visits at the Corah Pratama Clinic, Munte District, Karo Regency in 2023.

Abstract

BACKGROUND: According to Huliana (2013), breast care is carried out to prevent blockage of the milk ducts thereby facilitating the release of breast milk. This is confirmed by the results of research by Sholichah (2011) which found a relationship between breast care for pregnant women and the smooth production of breast milk. In this study, mothers who had good breast condition with good breast care had good breast milk production. If the condition of the mother's breasts is in poor condition and the care is not good then it can more or less disrupt the lactation process. Breast care is carried out during pregnancy (antenatal) to get the effect of producing breast milk more quickly. This was obtained from the results of research by Astari (2018) that mothers who had breast care during the antenatal period produced breast milk after giving birth faster than mothers who did not have breast care during the antenatal period. OBJECTIVE To analyze the relationship between factors that influence pregnant women in carrying out breast care at the Bena Handayani Independent Practicing Midwife in 2023. METHOD chi square test p value < 0.05 means H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted as a statistical test result of a significant relationship. RESULTS: There is a relationship between education, age, parity, knowledge and attitudes towards breast care at the Bena Handayani independent practice midwife in 2023. Suggestions are given for research and for research sites and for educational institutions regarding breast care.
