Abstract

Complementary food for breast milk is the child's second food after breastfeeding. MP-ASI is given to babies who are half a year old or older because breast milk does not meet the child's nutritional needs. MP-ASI feeding must be continuous and varied, starting from fruit, fresh fruit, thick porridge, mashed food, soft food, and finally solid food. The reason for giving MP-ASI at the age of six months is because the child is ready for solid food (Chomaria, 2013). The presentation and arrangement of MP-ASI must be carried out in stages, both in structure and quantity, according to the capacity of the child's stomach. Breast milk only meets the healthy needs of newborn children, but 60% of adult babies 6 years old. Based on the results of bivariate analysis using chi square, the p value = 0.001 (p <0.05) with a confidence level of 95%. This p value statistically shows that there is a relationship between the mother's level of knowledge about complementary foods for breast milk and the provision of complementary foods for babies aged 6-12 months at the BP Nauli Community Health Center, Siantar Marihat District, Pematangsiantar City in 2023 with a p value of 0.001 Providing complementary foods for breast milk , mothers can give food to their babies in stages and provide a variety of foods starting with 1 type of flavor then another, starting with thick porridge, fruit juice, fresh fruit, mashed food, soft food and finally solid food, should be given 3 times a day and Breast milk is still given. According to research results, Widodo (2006) said that in rural communities in Indonesia, the type of MP-ASI that is commonly given to babies before the age of 4 months is 57.3% banana. An initial survey was conducted at the BP Nauli Community Health Center, Siantar Marihat District on mothers who had babies aged 6-12 months. Of the 12 mothers who were interviewed, there were 7 mothers who gave MP-ASI to babies before the age of 6 months, and 5 mothers said that the baby I have been given formula milk since I was born because only a little breast milk comes out. From the results of this background, the author is interested in researching "The relationship between the level of mother's knowledge about complementary foods for breast milk and the provision of complementary foods for breast milk to babies aged 6-12 months at the BP Nauli Community Health Center, Siantar Marihat District, Pematangsiantar City in 2023."

Abstract

Satisfaction is a person who has compared in terms of performance and also the expected results through the level of a person's feelings. In another theory written by Wilton, it is stated that satisfaction or dissatisfaction is the result of the final evaluation of the customer's response, namely the suitability that has been felt by the customer with the expected performance of the product that can be felt after the customer uses it. (Abarca 2021) Family planning is an effort by husband and wife to measure the desired number and distance. The effort in question includes contraception or pregnancy prevention and family planning. The basic principle of contraceptive methods is to prevent male sperm from reaching and fertilizing a woman's egg (fertilization) or preventing a fertilized egg from implanting (attaching) and developing in the uterus (Th. Endang Purwoastuti, 2016).From a preliminary survey in January 2023 at the Siloam Clinic, West Siantar District, Pematangsiantar City, 20 women of childbearing age were found, of whom 7 people expressed dissatisfaction with contraceptive services. Based on the background description, researchers are interested in taking the title The Relationship between Service Quality and Mother's Satisfaction in Using IUD Contraception at the Siloam Clinic, West Siantar District, Pematangsiantar City in 2023

Abstract

Parenting is a parenting style that provides teachings to toddlers that will aim to shape the child's characteristics, provide education that can shape the toddler's personality and provide support in the development process, both growth and development and related to the toddler's skills. In implementing parenting patterns, parents discover the unique behavior of toddlers because the characteristics of children are very different, so parents need to pay attention to their children and provide different parenting patterns for each toddler. Parenting for toddlers will be carried out under the age of 5-6 years, during this time the attention given to the child must be more active where parents pay attention to their development and growth, mental, physical, social development and the interactions carried out every day (Rahmat, 2018). In line with previous research conducted by Sisri Landa Sari, entitled the relationship between parenting patterns and children's social development in Jorong Kampung VII District. South Rao District. Pasaman in 2019, where research results showed that there was a significant relationship between parental parenting patterns and the social development of children under five with a correlation coefficient of 0.350 and a significant p-value of 0.010<0.05, which means that the higher the parenting pattern, the the higher the level of social development of the child, and vice versa, if the toddler receives low parenting, the social development of the toddler will be low (Sari, 2019).Based on the initial survey conducted at the BP Nauli Community Health Center, Siantar Marihat District, Pematangsiantar City, it can be seen that there are two villages and there are toddlers whose language and social development is still lacking, this is because the parents of these toddlers are not often near their children all the time because the parents are older. there is a lot of time to work and farm to earn a living so that the development experienced by children is given less attention and the parents' knowledge about the development of toddlers is lacking. .Keywords: Parenting Patterns, Toddler Development.

Abstract

Background: Adolescent mental health is a growing public health concern, yet behavioral interventions addressing help-seeking barriers remain limited in low-resource settings. While the Health Belief Model (HBM) has been extensively applied to physical health behaviors, its relevance for improving mental health accessibility among adolescents is underexplored. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of HBM-based psychoeducation in enhancing adolescents’ self-awareness, self-efficacy, and emotional regulation. Methods: A quantitative pre-experimental two-group pretest–posttest design was conducted in Bangun Rejo Village, North Sumatra, Indonesia, following the TREND reporting guideline for non-randomized evaluations. Participants included 50 adolescents aged 12–16 years, selected through cluster sampling. Inclusion criteria were residence for at least six months and parental consent, while adolescents with prior psychiatric treatment were excluded. Data were collected using an HBM-based Mental Health Accessibility Questionnaire (Cronbach’s α = 0.87), with self-awareness and self-efficacy as independent variables and mental health accessibility as the dependent variable. Results: The experimental group showed a higher posttest score (87.60 ± 7.45; 95% CI [84.51, 90.69]) compared to the control group (76.48 ± 11.98; 95% CI [71.58, 81.38]). Between-group differences were significant (t(48) = 3.75, p < 0.001, Cohen’s d = 1.06), indicating a large effect size.. Conclusion: HBM-based psychoeducation effectively enhances adolescents’ accessibility to mental health services by improving self-awareness, self-efficacy, and emotional regulation. The findings support incorporating HBM-based approaches into school and community health programs as low-cost, culturally adaptable strategies to promote adolescent mental health in resource-limited settings.

Abstract

Perineal wounds are one of the most common complications in postpartum women, causing pain, increasing the risk of infection, and delaying recovery. The lack of effective, safe, affordable, and easily accessible therapies highlights a gap in perineal wound care practices, particularly in primary care. Aloe vera, which contains anti-inflammatory compounds and regenerative bioactives, has the potential to serve as an alternative phytotherapy, but clinical evidence of its effectiveness in perineal wounds remains limited. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of aloe vera gel in accelerating perineal wound healing in postpartum women. The contribution of this research is to strengthen the practice of phytotherapy-based wound care that is safe, affordable, and applicable in primary health care facilities. The study used a quasi-experimental pre-post study design with a control group. Thirty postpartum women with grade I–II perineal wounds were divided into a treatment group (Aloe vera) and a control group (standard care). Healing was evaluated using the REEDA scale, and pain intensity was assessed using a Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) over seven days. Analysis was performed using an independent t-test with a significance level of 0.05. The results showed a significant difference between the two groups. The average healing time for the Aloe vera group was 4.20 days (SD 0.95), faster than the control group, which took an average of 7.00 days (SD 1.20). Statistical tests showed a p-value = 0.001, indicating significant effectiveness of Aloe vera application in accelerating tissue healing. In addition, REEDA and VAS scores on the seventh day were consistently lower in the treatment group, indicating a faster reduction in inflammation and pain. Implicitly, these findings provide a clinical contribution to strengthening safe and affordable phytotherapy-based wound care practices for postpartum mothers, particularly in primary healthcare facilities. This study concluded that aloe vera gel is an effective complementary therapy for accelerating perineal wound healing and improving maternal comfort.
