Abstract

The purpose of this study was to explore Christian religious education teachers' views on the synthesis of adat, education, curriculum, and interfaith spiritual values manifested in the land rice planting ritual. This includes aspects such as prayers and gotong royong activities that emphasize togetherness, well-being, and a deep understanding of the philosophy of life. Based on brief surveys through 17 research subjects were mostly students of Palangka Raya and came from East Barito and 2 Christian religious education teachers in one of the high schools in East Barito, the researcher found information that currently, learning activities through land rice planting have diminished and are even threatened with extinction. In fact, land rice planting brings interfaith spirituality through prayer with all kinds of meanings (togetherness, mutual cooperation, and sufficiency). Qualitative research with brief survey and interview techniques to Christian religious education teachers provides space for information on high school education through Christian religious education teachers as research subjects who are experts as well as experienced in synthesizing between adat, education (curriculum, teachers, students and society). The results showed such education is an education that translates prayer as ritual space between religions, customs, philosophy and education through the process of planting land rice (tebas tebang, Mu'au, ritual [prayer/mystical and offerings from the earth]) from the teacher's perspective.

Abstract

This paper seeks to identify potential shifts in identity politics, which appear to be evolving in unpredictable ways. This paper observed that, regardless of the underlying dynamics and political shifts, the logical consequences of political turmoil on education, particularly Christian Religious Education, have resulted in the creation of an alienated space at a certain level. Adequate access and care for children with diverse needs, the restructuring of the curriculum, and the 2024 political promise for the education sector are among the key challenges. In light of these observations, this paper examine each phenomenon individually in the role of Gianni Vattimo. This paper employs qualitative research methods, specifically interview techniques, with female subjects, with the aim of elucidating the phenomenon of identity segregation in the context of the livelihood space. The findings demonstrate that Gianni Vattimo's philosophical approach, known as 'weak thought' or 'pensiero debole', is not solely associated with religious hermeneutics. Instead, it also evinces a distinctive interpretation of identity politics, whereby the advancement of specific individual or collective interests exerts a considerable influence on the domain of Christian religious education. Consequently, the value of weak thinking is contingent upon the establishment of mutual respect and love across identities.

Abstract

Alienation does not only contribute to male terror actors, it turns out that women as executors have played a major role in acts of terror, especially in the last five years; before and during Covid-19. For example, women as suicide bombers. This act of terror has taken away human rights. Humans who deserve the right to life, are free from fear and a sense of security. Acts of terror seemed to be something banal. Hannah Arendt's philosophy on the banality of crime and obedience has argued that the essence of terrorism is the feeling of being left out of modern life. In addition, this article has also reviewed that people at the grassroots level in Indonesia still consider the concept of obedience by putting aside critical thoughts as a virtue and also could be a threat to humanity universally. The author had used a qualitative research method with a descriptive-interpretative approach from literature review.

Abstract

The Community Engagement (PkM) of the Faculty of Teacher Training of Christian Education choosing the topic is because: Firstly, the author considers SMKN 1 Pulang Pisau to be a potential high school for activities because their Principal is an arts graduate. Second, the school has complete musical equipment as far as the author is concerned. Third, the location and venue of SMKN 1 Pulang Pisau is spacious and adequate as a location for activities. Fourth, the school was able to command all secondary school principals to send representatives of teachers who had taught in the cultural arts department. We explored creative strategies through an ensemble approach in interfaith music learning after reinforcement and/or empowerment. The implementation method in PkM that we have done is Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) method with implementation stages through discovery, dream, design, define and destiny. Our PkM team evaluated the implementation and sustainability of the program at SMKN 1 Pulang Pisau for 4 days. As a result, the beneficiaries were able to plan, select methods, and implement Cultural Arts learning, with music specifications through an ensemble approach. The ensemble as a national music landscape is able to produce musical creativity and resonant rhythms through materials around the beneficiary schools. For example, gallons, bamboo, and wood.

Abstract

Paulo Freire’s philosophy is still universally relevant and discussed almost all over the world, including in Indonesia. The philosophy is dialectical in the holistic context of education, covering active awareness, pedagogical imperatives, skepticism, and domination of the social environment. This article focuses on the topic of Freire’s philosophy in the context of students in Palangka Raya as subjects. In this study, the researcher found several responses from the subjects when discussing active awareness and pedagogical imperatives. The first subject raised both skepticism and appreciation. The dialectical behavior of the educational journey led to a paradoxical attitude. The second subject struggled to see awareness as something that must be collective. Then, the next subject narrated ecopedagogy through his origins and the place where he was studying. To be noted, the researcher conducted a qualitative study using in-depth interviews with several students who were currently studying in Central Kalimantan Province, Indonesia.

Abstract

This paper discusses premonitions with various meanings originating from the Ngaju Dayak Tribe. The text is free from grammatical errors, spelling mistakes, and punctuation errors. No changes in content have been made. Firasat, a type of folklore, is also a signifier based on daily experiences in the rivers and forests iconic to the island of Kalimantan. The language used is clear, objective, and value-neutral, with a formal register and precise word choice. The text adheres to conventional structure and formatting features, with consistent citation and footnote style. The sentences and paragraphs create a logical flow of information with causal connections between statements. Henri Louis Frédéric de Saussure researched the cultural richness as part of the vocal system, including language, tradition (grammaire générale), semiotics, and linguistic rhetoric. The research method analysed the linguistic study of premonitions in the context of Central Kalimantan through literature review (secondary sources) and interviews with three research subjects from Central Kalimantan as valid sources. The results indicate that Nganan Firasat has been a long-standing ritual, faithful and consistent to this day due to its embodiment of rich traditions. Not only is it a local tradition, but it also holds national and global significance, aligning with universal human values.

Abstract

Linguistic issues that are intertwined and/or related to gender are often researched from sociolinguistic circles, including friends from feminism. Researchers see that there is a special space for Luce Irigaray's philosophical lens which is more balacing, namely women are able to create their own language without the need for subordinate appraisal. Previously, throughout the history of male-dominated philosophers, there was a massive amount of an alienated philosophical perspective when encountering (meta)linguistics. The purpose of this study is to investigate philosopher Luke Irigaray's views on his disagreement with the distinction between men and women in the world of linguistics, including linguistics in daily worship in Christianity. This qualitative research design uses literature study as the basis to collect data on the emergence of linguistics through journals and books on linguistics, morphology and/or Christianity. Then, the data is analyzed through Luke Irigaray's views when talking about equal respect between the sexes and rejecting subordination/alienation. The results show that sexual difference goes beyond biological terms. Moreover, it lies in the historical civilization of language. Non-segregated language then accepts ambiguity, paradox, and ambivalence. For her, women have a natural sociability that leads to intersubjective communication in addition to being a symbolic weapon of the superior state.

Abstract

The prevalence of comedy and satirical programming on television and online platforms has contributed to a growing divide between entertainers (musicians) and their audiences, with the former offering guidance, criticism, and a reflection of everyday life through their work. As far as the researchers's search and exploration, there are still a few who examine and can even be said to rarely relate music through the culture of Karungut and Deder song, a culture that exists and lives in Dayak Ngaju, Central Kalimantan. This research is interesting because besides music as a fun strategy, Deder song as local wisdom is an expression of the daily life of the Dayak people in Central Kalimantan. This song contains advice, satire, advice and is still present today as part of the richness of world civilization. Lantunan Deder is presented in traditional events (weddings, welcoming guests and various Manasai dances that include men and women in rhythm or balance). Participation in Lantunan Deder has become interesting as a strategy for learning about the content of Christian religious education lessons in schools, living rooms and churches. The usefulness is more about the love of culture, God also sensitizes the participation of women and men as part of the sustainable development goals (SGDs). The research method used 4D model development with analysis and validation space and considered diversity, and song structure. The results showed that Deder as method, strategy, development, cultural actualization, as well as an instrument rarely done in the learning process of Christian religious education and researchers conducted direct practice in the field by melting Deder chants with the learning process which resulted in the creativity of students as actors and user subjects as well as cultural preservation subjects for Ngaju Dayak culture.

Abstract

This research examines Talawang shields, which have received little attention in scientific studies. Talawang shields are a cultural treasure for the Dayak people of Kalimantan, featuring intricate carvings, motifs, colours, and universes that blend art with local-global philosophical meanings. This is a qualitative research study that utilises previous studies as a secondary source of data. Additionally, the researchers provide evidence in the form of images of Talawang shields, which are considered an artistic luxury in Indonesia. The study also includes important interview results from credible sources with a cultural perspective to support the data. The results indicate that the Talawang shield serves as an art space for fashion and architecture, as well as a symbol of courage, responsibility, and loyalty. When presented to readers, observers, and art workers, the Talawang shield conveys multiple meanings.
