Abstract

The use of VHF Air to Ground (VHF A/G) radio equipment as a means of communication between the Air Traffic Controller (ATC) Tower and the aircraft must be guaranteed to be available. To serve the communication needs in the Jakarta Air Traffic Service (JATSC) area, it is necessary to place VHF radios in several locations called VHF Extended Range (VHF-ER). In the VHF-ER system, the information signal from the VHF radio is transmitted through the Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) transmission line. In this report, the problem of TX VHF-ER Radio that cannot be used to communicate is discussed. Where on the Radio there is a menu that affects the running of communication, namely the polarities menu. In this menu, there are values that must be adjusted so that communication can run smoothly, namely 14V, 0V, and -14V. When it cannot be used to communicate, the value on the menu is 14, then it is lowered to -14 while checking the power supply, interconnection and cable jumpers on the serial and LAN ports.

Abstract

Academic information system (SIAKAD) plays an important role in the management of educational data in higher education institutions. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of an academic information system integrated with virtual accounts at Medan Aviation Polytechnic, in order to improve efficiency and transparency in financial management. This research uses R&D (Research & Development) method with waterfall software development model. Data was collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. Observations were conducted to understand the data processing process, while interviews and questionnaires were used to obtain input from the study program admin and academic admin. The results showed that the integrated academic information system has functioned well. Features such as KRS filling, transcript printing, and payment confirmation can be accessed by various users, including university admins, study program admins, lecturers, and students. Users reported increased efficiency in managing academic and financial data. The implementation of SIAKAD integrated with virtual accounts provides significant benefits in terms of transparency and reduction of human error in data processing. The system facilitates real-time access to information, which is essential for informed decision-making in education management. This study concludes that the implementation of SIAKAD integrated with virtual accounts is effective in improving the efficiency and transparency of academic and financial data management at Politeknik Penerbangan Medan. Recommendations for further development include enhancing system features to support diverse user needs.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze time management as an essential pillar in the development of ethics, integrity, competence, professionalism, and communication among students at Medan Aviation Polytechnic. Effective time management plays a vital role in developing a student's character, especially in forming the discipline that is the foundation of professional behavior in the aviation world. By adopting a qualitative approach, this research collected data through interviews, observations, and documentation studies of students and lecturers at the Medan Aviation Polytechnic. The research results indicate that effective time management plays a significant role in enhancing student ethics, integrity, and competence. Apart from that, time management also plays a crucial role in improving professionalism and effective communication, which are essential aspects in the aviation sector. This research offers recommendations for enhancing time management training within the higher education curriculum, aiming to foster students who are more disciplined and prepared to face future professional challenges. This is relevant to the needs of the aviation industry, which prioritizes punctuality, team coordination, and high adaptability in a dynamic work environment.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis manajemen waktu sebagai pilar penting dalam pembentukan etika, integritas, kompetensi, profesionalisme, dan komunikasi di kalangan mahasiswa Politeknik Penerbangan Medan. Manajemen waktu yang efektif berperan vital dalam pengembangan karakter mahasiswa, terutama dalam membentuk kedisiplinan yang menjadi dasar dari perilaku profesional di dunia penerbangan. Dengan mengadopsi pendekatan kualitatif, penelitian ini mengumpulkan data melalui wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi terhadap mahasiswa dan dosen di Politeknik Penerbangan Medan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa manajemen waktu yang baik berkontribusi signifikan terhadap peningkatan etika, integritas, serta kompetensi mahasiswa. Selain itu, manajemen waktu juga berperan dalam meningkatkan profesionalisme dan komunikasi yang efektif, yang merupakan aspek penting dalam dunia kerja di sektor penerbangan. Penelitian ini memberikan rekomendasi untuk penguatan pelatihan manajemen waktu dalam kurikulum pendidikan tinggi, guna mendukung pengembangan karakter mahasiswa yang lebih disiplin dan siap menghadapi tantangan profesional di masa depan. Hal ini relevan dengan kebutuhan industri penerbangan yang mengutamakan ketepatan waktu, koordinasi tim, serta kemampuan adaptasi yang tinggi dalam lingkungan kerja yang dinamis.

Abstract

Competition among vocational higher education institutions in Indonesia, particularly Aviation Polytechnics, is intensifying, necessitating marketing strategies capable of building positive perceptions and trust among prospective students. This study aims to analyze the relationship between brand image, brand trust, and students' decisions to study at Aviation Polytechnics in Indonesia using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. The review process followed the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines and included a search for related articles. The synthesis results indicate that a positive brand image, reflected in the institution's reputation, educational service quality, and other factors, increases prospective students' brand trust. Furthermore, brand trust has been shown to strengthen prospective students' confidence in making decisions about choosing a university. Furthermore, the synthesis indicates that brand trust acts as a mechanism explaining how brand image influences university choice decisions, although some studies have found that the influence of brand image can also occur directly depending on the characteristics of the institution and the research context. This study provides a theoretical contribution by integrating the concepts of brand image, brand trust, and university choice decisions within a higher education marketing framework.
