Abstract

Street lighting is one of the important factors in improving the security and safety of Wringinputih Village residents when crossing the road at night, the location of the village is adjacent to the PTPN XVIII Ngobo rubber plantation and the streets around have not been reached by electricity, so the use of solar public street lighting (PJUTS) on the Pluwang-Ngobo highway as an efficient alternative energy solution. Although the initial cost of installation is quite expensive and weather-dependent, these PJUTS lights have an impact on long-term benefits. The installation of these PJUTS lights improves the security and safety of Wringinputih residents, as well as facilitating road access for the community at night

Abstract

This research aims to increase understanding of electronics and control systems practicum using Proteus software and practicum directly using electronic components. Proteus software is used to complement the limited equipment in the electrical laboratory and control laboratory. Data was collected using the success rate of cadets in increasing their practical understanding of electronics and control systems courses using Proteus software to complete the practicum using electronic components and simulators in learning from 16 meetings and added with UTS and UAS. The use of Proteus software for practical activities is based on the need to improve cadet skills which is based on the fact that around 76% of cadets who take part in electronics and control systems practicum do not understand electronic circuits because the practicum only uses a simulator board so it needs to be combined with Proteus software to better understand the material involved. given. Apart from the limitations of electronic component equipment, Proteus software is used. The results showed that using Proteus software, 97% of cadets were able to take part in this learning, which had a positive impact on learning outcomes and cadet activities.

Abstract

Technology and information have developed rapidly since entering the 20th century. In the world of industrial engineering, one of the technological developments that emerged was the use of software in drawing designs, by utilizing computerization. One of the popular software in the world of engineering is AutoCAD which displays 2D and 3D object representations. High school students need to be introduced to AutoCAD to spark their interest. This training was held at Rumah Belajar Bangkit Persada Nusantara, implemented online and attended by 10 students. The materials provided included 2D, 3D, and engineering drawings. The results of the activity showed that students were interested in studying AutoCAD. It is hoped that similar activities can be held for more advanced materials and carried out offline to be more interactive and optimal.

Abstract

Kegiatan pembelajaran untuk pelajaran tentang Navigasi selama pandemi Covid-19 mengalami kendala. Sebesar 85 persen responden Taruna Politeknik Maritim Negeri Indonesia mengalami kesulitan pada pembelajaran menggunakan aplikasi zoom meeting dikarenakan materi yang disampaikan kurang maksimal. Permasalahan tersebut kami menetapkan tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk membuat media pembelajaran dengan mengembangkan simulasi Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS) menggunakan software visual basic 6. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian pengembangan ADDIE dengan melalui beberapa tahap yaitu analysis, design, development, implement dan evaluation. Perancangan modul software ini terdiri atas 42 slide teori dengan ditambahkan input suara diberi timer masing-masing 30 detik, 1 slide berisi video tutorial dan 1 slide praktikum. 90 persen responden Taruna Politeknik Maritim Negeri Indonesia untuk materi tentang Navigasi menyatakan terbantu dengan media pembelajaran ECDIS yang dikembangkan. Manfaat yang didapatkan adalah materi tersampaikan dengan jelas tanpa adanya gangguan sinyal internet serta tidak membutuhkan kuota internet terlalu besar. Software ini akan ditambahkan dengan proses evaluasi 50 soal pilihan ganda pada penelitian selanjutnya.

Abstract

International Convention that regulates air pollution caused by shipping activities as is indicated in Annex VI. So far, many ships' exhaust gases still contain a lot of NOx and SOx gases which can damage the air and are one of the contributors to air pollution. The aim of this research is to analyse the use of the MQ-135 sensor as a ship exhaust gas detection sensor connected to an Arduino Uno and a computer. Testing ship exhaust gas was using the medium speed ship's main engine in the engine laboratory of the Indonesian State Maritime Polytechnic. The measuring point was at the end of the exhaust chimney. The measurement variations consisted of low, medium and high engine speed (RPM) of the main engine. The result suggested that the higher the engine RPM, the higher the reading on the serial monitor. The average of measurement results from three measurements concluded that the high RPM is 96, for medium RPM is 81 and low RPM is 66 as displayed on the Arduino IDE serial monitor. From the results of the equipment testing that has been carried out, it can be concluded that the MQ-135 sensor can be used to detect ship exhaust gas from medium ship engine

Abstract

The use of computers in the development of Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS) teaching materials can be used to assist lecturers in learning activities on vocational campuses as well as other materials in the Computer Base Training (CBT) laboratory at the Indonesian Maritime Polytechnic. The CBT laboratory provides learning materials on ship machinery systems and multiple choice questions for learning evaluation. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of effectiveness of the use of ECDIS material learning media software when used computer-based. The method used in this study is a qualitative method by looking at the final grades of students. This software consists of 42 slides of ECDIS material theory, 1 slide of ECDIS material video tutorial, 1 slide of ECDIS material practice, 20 slides of multiple choice evaluation questions, and 1 slide of final grades made using Visual Basic software. The results of the test showed that all cadets who attended the lecture were successful in using the software until the final grade was obtained.

Abstract

The degradation process of food waste with anaerobic digestion technology can be performed in a single-stage bioreactor. This study examined the effect of a single-stage digester configuration on biogas production using cow manure inoculum at a tropical ambient temperature of 27.3 ± 1 °C. The single-stage digester had a working volume of 369 L. Feeding food waste into the bioreactor was carried out 5 times a week with a maximum OLR of 0.8 Kg/day. The average biogas production was 90.6 L/day. Also, the results showed that applying a single-stage digester configuration in degrading food waste could produce a carbon recovery of 71.41% in the carbon mass balance analysis. These results indicate that the single-stage digester configuration performed well. The single-stage digester configuration gradually increased biogas production.

Abstract

This service aims to increase the knowledge and skills of the fish farming group in Beji Village, Semarang Regency, regarding the operational technicalities of pellet printing machines to empower village communities. The method used in this service was training, which included lectures, questions and answers, and direct practice in making fish food pellets with material provided to participants, including knowledge of tool operation, tool components, and troubleshooting on tools. This service partner was a fish farming group in Beji Village, East Ungaran District, to improve the community's economic level around the new campus of the Indonesian State Maritime Polytechnic in Ngobo sub-district, which borders Beji sub-district. This service evaluation instrument used an assessment of the training participants by practicing operating, disassembling, and installing spare parts for the fish pellet printing machine themselves. The results of this service showed that most members of the fish farming group in Beji sub-district could operate the fish pellet press and care for it well. Apart from that, the quality and quantity of catfish feed increased because the the fish farming group had been able to produce fish feed independently.

Abstract

This community service program is carried out in Beji Village, East Ungaran District, which is around the Indonesian State Maritime Polytechnic campus. This activity is a continuation of the previous service roadmap in the same place where in the previous service activity, making fish food using a pellet molding machine using a petrol motor, this time making fish food using a manual fish pellet molding machine. The aim is to introduce MSME service partners to the fish cultivation group in Beji sub-district about the types of fish pellet molding machines so that they can meet fish feed needs to save production costs. The method for implementing this activity is by providing training by sharing knowledge about the parts of the fish pellet molding machine and the composition of the ingredients that make up good fish feed, followed by the practice of making fish feed using a manual pellet molding machine.

Abstract

Sensor MQ-7 merupakan sensor yang memiliki sensitivitas tinggi terhadap karbon monoksida (CO) yang dapat digunakan untuk mengukur emisi gas buang mesin kapal. Gas CO merupakan salah satu dari beberapa jenis gas yang dihasilkan oleh mesin kapal. Emisi gas buang kapal tersebut perlu dikendalikan melalui peratuan untuk mengotrol emisi melalui Marine Pollution atau Marpol. Penelitian ini merupakan kelanjutan dari penelitian sebelumnya yang menggunakan sensor MQ 135 namun kali ini menggunakan sensor MQ-7 untuk mendeteksi gas buang mesin kapal dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik sensor MQ-7 digunakan sebagai sensor pendeteksi gas buang kapal. Hasil pembacaan dari sensor MQ-7 dikirim ke komputer oleh arduino untuk dibaca melalui serial monitor yang terdapat pada software arduino IDE dan Visual Basic. Titik Pengukuran dari sensor MQ 7 adalah ujung cerobong dari mesin induk kapal yang terdapat di laboratorium real engine Politeknik Maritim Negeri Indonesia. Untuk membandingkan hasil pengukuran maka dilakukan beberapa perbandingan objek penelitian antara lain menggunakan asap kertas yang dibakar, sepeda motor berbahan. Hasil pengujian sensor MQ-7 pada mesin induk kapal menunjukkan respon kenaikan dari 2,53 menjadi 3,09 kemudian dilakukan perbandingan dengan kertas yang dibakar terjadi kenaikan dari 2,53 menjadi 7,37 dan jika dibandingkan dari pengukuran sepeda motor  terjadi kenaikan dari 2,53 menjadi 14,41. Respon waktu dari sensor ini bekerja dengan cepat dari nilai rendah ke tinggi dan lambat pada saat nilai tinggi ke rendah.
