Abstract

Standardized herbal medicines are classified as one of Indonesia's natural medicine ingredients in addition to herbal medicine and phytopharmaceuticals. The safety and efficacy of standardized herbal medicines are scientifically proven through preclinical trials, and raw materials and products have been standardized. One includes standardized herbal medicines is diapet, psidii, lelap, fitolac, and glucogarp. To determine the bioavailability of standardized herbal products containing guava leaf extract (Psidium guajava L.). which uses single and combined natural materials. The method used is experimental with a crossover design. Blood samples are taken from the marginalis vein of the rabbit ear at 0.5 hours; 1; 2; 4; and 6. The level of quercetin in the blood is determined by the reverse-phase HPLC method. The mobile phase used is methanol:aquabidest (59:41,v/v), stationary phase octadecyl silica (C18), flow rate 1 mL/min, UV-Vis detector 370 nm, and injection volume 20 ?L. The value of bioavailability parameters obtained in the parameters Cpmax, Tmax, and AUC of product A is 1.486454 ?g / ml; 1.4 hours and 10.2615291 ?g/ml/h, product B is 1.29224019 ?g/ml; 1.5 hours and 11.30810501 ?g/ml/hour. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the bioavailability profile of the two products is not much different, so it is expected that the effects caused are the same.

Abstract

The majority of the inorganic material that makes up teeth and bones is called hydroxyapatite (Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2), and it is produced by isolating calcium oxide (CaO) from the high calcium carbonate content of anadara granosa shells, which is over 98%. The porous HAp is the type of hydroxyapatite that can be used for bone repair. The aim of this work is to use the polymer polyvinyl alcohol to synthesis porous hydroxyapatite from anadara granosa shell. The anadara granosa powder (AGP) was furnaced for 3 hour at 800oC. CaO powder was produced. Then, the CaO powder was treated with (NH4)2HPO4 at a mol Ca/P 1.67 to obtained the HAp. Then, HAp is combined with a PVA polymer at a 10:1 ratio. Compressive strength tests, FTIR, SEM, and XRD are carried out. The compressive strength resulted for HAp and porous HAp were14.58 and 50.43 Mpa., respectively. The results indicated that PVA achieved a good compressive strength with Hydroxyapatite – Anadara granosa shell.

Abstract

Boraks dilarang penggunaannya pada makanan tetapi boraks masih sering ditambahkan di beberapa makanan salah satunya kerupuk. Kerupuk yang mengandung boraks jika dikonsumsi secara terus menerus dalam jangka waktu lama dapat mengakibatkan dampak negatif bagi kesehatan seperti kerusakan pada hati, sistem kardiovaskular dan sistem saraf pusat. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kandungan boraks dan kadar boraks pada kerupuk mentah dari pasar Tradisional Kota Jambi. Metode yang digunakan untuk analisis boraks pada kerupuk mentah menggunakan kertas kunyit (tumerik) dan Spektrofotometer UV-Vis. Hasil penelitian 10 sampel kerupuk mentah diperoleh 1 sampel mengandung boraks yaitu kerupuk nasi dari hasil uji kualitatif dengan kertas tumerik. Dari hasil uji dengan spektrofotometer UV-Vis diperoleh panjang gelombang maksimum dari larutan sampel 415 nm yang sama dengan panjang gelombang maksimum larutan standar boraks, pada hasil uji kuantitatif diperoleh kadar boraks sampel tersebut sebesar 139,23 µg/g. Abstract

AbstractTalang Parit Hamlet Kemingking Dalam Village is one of the Villages located in Taman Rajo Sub-District, Muaro Jambi District, where most of its residents work as factory laborers and gardeners. Gastritis, Gout and Hypertension are the 3 biggest diseases in RT.09 Talang Parit Hamlet, Kemingking Dalam Village. Therefore, health counseling was conducted to the community RT.09 Talang Parit Hamlet related to gastritis, gout, and hypertension. Health education is one way that can be used to convey health information. Health counseling can be done in two ways, which can be directly (face to face) and indirectly (mass media). This activity aims to increase public knowledge about diseases including symptoms, prevention and treatment, to increase public knowledge about natural resources that can be processed to overcome some diseases and about the classification of drugs, and to overcome errors in the use of drugs. This activity uses the method of providing information through direct media, namely counseling and indirectly using posters and leaflets. Respondents involved were 36 adults and parents. The results of this outreach activity indicate that there is an influence of health education before and after on the level of community knowledge

Abstract

Introduction: Currently the world is being hit by a virus outbreak that causes symptoms of pneumonia, on December 31, 2019 China reported a mysterious case of pneumonia with no known cause. Objective: The purpose of this study was to look at bioactive compounds and extracts that have the potential as COVID-19 antivirals. Method: This research is a literature study derived from the PubMed and Science Direct databases using the Preparred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analysis (PRISMA) method. Result and Discussion: In the results of the literature review, 22 articles were found that entered the inclusion criteria. The average extracts and compounds in pre-clinical data showed a very strong IC50 value with a value of <50 ug/ml, while in clinical trials, herbal plant products showed that they were anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory. Conclusion: So, it can be concluded that natural product products from herbal plants have the potential as an antiviral for COVID-19

Abstract

This research aims to find out the improvement of learning outcomes through the application of the Think Talk Write (TTW) Type Cooperative Learning Model with the Scientific Approach of class IX.3 State Junior High School 9 Dumai. This type of research is a classroom action research or classroom action research (CAR) that has 4 stages (planning stage, implementation stage, observation stage and reflection stage). The research conducted with the Observer was a fellow researcher. Observations are made on teacher activities, student activities and learning outcomes carried out in two implementation cycles consisting of cycle I and Cycle II. The results of research in cycle I obtained the activities of Teachers and learners during the learning process 74% and 75% which are in the category is quite good, with the learning outcomes of learners classically for cycle I has not reached the desired success indicator which is 75%. Furthermore, in cycle II, teacher and student activities during the learning process of 90% which are in the category are very good, with the learning results of learners classically get the completion of learning 96% so that the completion of learning learners classically for cycle II has been achieved, namely ≥75%. So it can be concluded that the application of TTW cooperative learning model with a scientific approach to mathematics lessons with revival and support materials can improve student learning outcomes in class IX.3 State Junior High School 9 Dumai

Abstract

This study aims to improve the mathematics learning outcomes of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 9 Dumai for the 2021/2022 academic year, especially circle material through the PBL model. This research uses the research method used in this research is the Classroom Action Research method. with the Kemmis and Mc. spiral model design. Data analysis in this study was carried out in a simple quantitative (statistical) manner. Quantitative analysis emphasizes the implementation of actions. The implementation of data analysis took place during the action process. The results of the research based on the cycle that had been carried out showed an increase in students' understanding of the learning material after using the PBL model as well as student learning outcomes before the PBL model was applied, which was classified as low, marked by a classical completeness percentage of 34.48%, then increased after the PBL model was applied in cycle I of 72.41% and cycle II of 89.66%. So it can be concluded that there is an increase in students' understanding of learning material after using the PBL model

Abstract

Orange peel is one of the main sources of essential oil. Lemon orange can also be found in an area of Jambi City, commonly referred to as local lemon, but the shape and characteristics differ slightly from common lemons. The identification results of local lemon peels indicate that these oranges are a cross between lemons and limes (Citrus medica × Citrus aurantifolia). This study aims to analyze and determine the differences in the components of the peels of lemon, local lemon, and lime using gas chromatography–mass spectrometer (GC-MS). The contribution of this research lies in providing scientific data on the chemical composition of local lemon peels, which have not been widely studied, thereby offering potential applications for the development of natural products, essential oil industries, and local biodiversity utilization. This research was conducted by extracting the peels from lemons, local lemons, and limes using acetone as a solvent. The extracts were then analyzed for their components using GC-MS. The GC-MS analysis of acetone extracts from lemon, local lemon, and lime peels revealed 19 compounds in each sample. Four compounds were found to be common across all three samples, namely 2-pentanone, 4-hydroxy-4-methyl; β-bisabolene; bis (2-ethylhexyl) phthalate; and 2H-1-Benzopyran-2-one, 5,7-dimethoxy. Meanwhile, 15 other compounds showed different contents, indicating that the hybrid nature of local lemons influenced their chemical composition. These findings highlight the unique characteristics of local lemon peels and their potential as a valuable source of bioactive compounds.

Abstract

Pediatrik merupakan kelompok yang rentan menderita penyakit karena sistem imun dan fungsi organ yang belum berkembang secara sempurna. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Pola Peresepan pada pasien pediatrik di Puskesmas Kebun Handil Jambi pada tahun 2019. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif  dengan pengambilan data retrospektif. Sampel yang diambil 400 lembar resep anak dari populasi 17.711 lembar resep tahun 2019,data yang diinput dari resep berupa karakteristik pasien. Hasil dari penelitian diperoleh jumlah pasien terbanyak  umur 0-5 tahun (54%) dengan jenis kelamin terbanyak adalah laki-laki (58%). Pola peresep terbanyak adalah resep non racikan (56%),dengan jumlah obat terbanyak perlembar resep adalah 3 obat dengan presentase (57%), bentuk sediaan terbanyak adalah tablet (69%),dengan jumlah zat aktif terbanyak adalah paracetamol (30%),sedangkan  resep racikan (44%),jumlah resep racikan perlembar resep adalah 1 racikan dengan bentuk sediaan  racikan yaitu pulverres (100%).Kata Kunci: Pediatrik, Peresepan, Formula obat untuk anak.Pediatrics is a group that is susceptible to disease because the immune system and organ functions are not yet fully developed. This study aims to determine the prescribing pattern of pediatric patients at the Kebun Handil Jambi Health Center in 2019. This study is a descriptive study with retrospective data collection. Samples were taken from 400 children's prescription sheets from a population of 17,711 prescription sheets in 2019, the data inputted from the prescription was in the form of patient characteristics. The results of the study showed that the highest number of patients were aged 0-5 years (54%) with the highest gender being male (58%). The highest prescription pattern was non-concoction prescriptions (56%), with the highest number of drugs per sheet being 3 drugs with a percentage (57%), the most dosage forms were tablets (69%), with the highest number of active substances being paracetamol (30%), while the recipe for concoction (44%), the number of prescriptions per sheet of recipe is 1 compound with a compound dosage form, namely pulverres (100%).Keywords: Pediatric, Prescription, Drug formula for children

Abstract

RT 71 Kelurahan Kenali Besar Kecamatan Alam Barajo Kota Jambi merupakan salah satu daerah yang tingkat pravelensi hipertensi yang cukup tinggi dari data yang diperoleh dari Puskesmas Kenali Besar. Kementrian Kesehatan juga mengupayakan mengajak masyarakat untuk memanfaatkan tanaman obat herbal, obat tradisional, dan obat herbal terstandar dalam upaya pengendalian penyakit. Kegiatan Pengabdian Masyarakat dilaksanakan dengan sosialisasi terhadap masyarakat RT.71 Kelurahan Kenali Besar Kecamatan Alam Barajo Kota Jambi, pada kegiatan yang dilakukan ini memiliki tujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan pengetahuan masyarakat terkait Pemanfaatan Tanaman Herbal Untuk Pengobatan Hipertensi. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dilakukan dengan survey ke tiap rumah warga, pembagian leaflet hipertensi, pemaparan materi terkait hipertensi dan materi tanaman herbal yang disertai demonstrasi produk, pengukuran tekanan darah dan cek gula darah gratis.  Hasil dari pengabdian yaitu meningkatnya pengetahuan yang didapat terkait pemanfaatan  tanaman herbal untuk hipertensi , dari hasil kuesioner yang sudah dibagikan didapatkan nilai rata-rata pretest untuk sosialisasi pemanfaatan tanaman herbal untuk pengobatan hipertensi sebesar 109,47 dan post-test sebesar 144,73.
