Abstract

Character education is an essential aspect of education that transcends academic development. However, its implementation is frequently hindered by students' lack of social responsibility and mutual respect. Through the development of a physical education learning model based on the Teaching Personal and Social Responsibility (TPSR) approach, this study sought to address the fundamental problems inherent in the implementation of character education in schools. Using an experimental method and a pretest-posttest design with 56 elementary school students, this study employed the game Engklek to promote character development and enhance fundamental manipulative skills. The results demonstrated a positive impact on the character traits, knowledge, and abilities of the students, with increased scores at levels 1 and 2. However, there were identified limitations, such as the need for adequate facilities and the limited habituation of character characteristics in daily life due to time constraints. Overall, this research contributes to the development of a physical education learning model that enhances the character development and fundamental manipulative movements of elementary school students, whereas future research should explore alternative materials and interactive learning media to further improve physical education.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of using flotation devices on the results of 50-meter breaststroke swimming training and to identify the differences in the impact of thigh length categories (high, medium, and low) on the results of 50-meter breaststroke swimming training for beginner athletes of KU IV Tiara Swimming Club, Jepara Regency. The research method is experimental with a 3x3 design, involving a sample of 29 beginner athletes. Those with the highest and lowest pretest results were excluded, resulting in a sample of 27 beginner athletes from KU IV selected through purposive sampling. The instrument for the test is to provide training treatment using a pull buoy float, fishing net, and board. Related to the length of the thigh category: high, medium, and low. The research results show (1) there is a significant difference in the outcomes for students using pull buoy floats, fishnet floats, or boards in the 50-meter breaststroke swimming practice. (2) There are significant differences in results for students with high, medium, or low leg lengths in the 50-meter breaststroke training. (3) There is no interaction between leg length and type of buoy in determining the results of the 50-meter breaststroke training. Conclusion: The fishnet float yielded more significant results compared to using the board float and pull buoy, as evidenced by an average result of 56.67 seconds, compared to the pull buoy float at 72.33 seconds and the board float at 72.33 seconds. The thigh length in the high category yielded more significant results compared to the medium and low thigh length categories. There was no interaction between thigh length and buoy type on the results of the 50-meter breaststroke swimming speed. Keywords: Buoy, leg length, breaststroke swimming speed

Abstract

Microteaching aims to ensure that students, as prospective educators, deserve to experience real teaching-learning situations. However, in light of recent advancements in educational technology and the increasing integration of online learning, it has been carried out online. This study aims to analyze students' competence in the online microteaching practice. This is classroom action research with three determined indicators as the basis for constructing a Likert scale questionnaire. 132/150 students are participating in this study. A descriptive statistical test was used to analyze the data, and students' opinions were also recorded to strengthen the results. Almost all students (98.4%) pretty much understand the microteaching practice, and quite well (97.7%) understand how to use the online application for online microteaching practice. Also, they are satisfied (99.9%) with the quality of online microteaching practices. In simple real-life learning practices, of the 132 respondents, only 68.1% mastered the characteristics of their students, 60.6% applied learning tools, and 60.6% implemented periodic assessments. We concluded that students' competence towards online microteaching practice is good, and they know the advantages and disadvantages of conducting an online class. However, the skills demonstrated by students in online situations were different and inconsistent with those exhibited in offline settings.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze potential barriers to physical activity in the aspects of stress levels, motivation, and infrastructure for physical activity. The method used is correlation and cross-sectional design. This research used research subjects as many as 190 police officers in the academy environment. The data collected includes stress levels, motivation, infrastructure, and physical condition. The analytical data used is the correlation test and determination coefficient test. Potential barriers physical activity to the stress level influence physical condition by 60%, potential barriers to the motivation aspect influence physical condition by 30%, and infrastructure aspects influence physical condition by 9%. Potential barriers aspects of stress levels, motivation and infrastructure together influence physical condition by 83%. It was concluded that the higher the prevalence of potential barriers, the lower the level of physical condition. Key words: Barriers, Police Officers, Physical Condition, Stress Level, Motivation

Abstract

Physical activity is vital for children to improve their motor skills and overall fitness. This study aimed to develop the Dance Intensive Nimble Activity (DINA), a physical activity model combining trending TikTok dances with short, high-intensity mini-games. The ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate) guided the development. The study involved 68 children aged 9-10 years across Central Java and Yogyakarta schools, with data collected through observations, questionnaires, and documentation. Expert validation rated DINA as "Very Valid" (mean score 3.76/4), while children's responses showed high enthusiasm (mean score 3.60/4). DINA was easy to follow, engaging, and beneficial in enhancing motor skills, fitness, and cognitive function. The combination of fun music, simple moves, and ice-breaking elements made DINA enjoyable for children, promoting positive feelings and motivation. In conclusion, DINA is an effective and practical alternative physical activity model for children aged 9-10.
