Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of giving carrots (Daucus Carota L) with lactic acid bacteria (LAB) pediococcus pentosaceus in feed on broiler chicken carcass quality. The research used is a field experiment using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) and if there is a significant difference in effect then it will be continued with the Duncan test. The treatments used in this research were 4 treatments with 3 repetitions so there were 24 experimental units. The results showed that the addition of carrots up to 3% with 1 ml of pediococcus pentosaceus lactic acid bacteria could not increase carcass percentage, breast meat deposition and abdominal fat percentage.

Abstract

Writing expository texts is one of the skills that class VIII junior hight school students must have. Expository text aims to explain something to broaden the mind, insight or knowledge of the reader. Appropriate learning is using the think talk write learning model assisted by animated video media based on students' level of creative thinking. This research aims to examine the effectiveness of the think talk write learning model in teaching expository text material, based on students' level of creative thinking. This research method uses quasi-experiment, with purposive sampling technique for sampling. Instrument data analysis involves validity and reliability tests, while normality and homogeneity tests are used for sample testing. Final data analysis was carried out using a paired sample t-test with the SPSS 24 program. The research results showed that the think talk write learning model assisted by animated video media was effectively applied in learning to write expository texts for class VIII students, especially for students with a creative thinking level. tall one. This model is more effective for students with a high level of creative thinking compared to students who have a medium or low level of thinking. This research is useful for developing research in the field of education, increasing knowledge about writing expository texts, and providing insight into effective learning models.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the social values and suitability of the novel series Kami (Bukan) by J.S. Khairen, which contains four novel titles, including Kami (Bukan) Sarjana Kertas, Kami (Bukan) Jongos Berdasi, Kami (Bukan) Generasi Bac*t, and Kami (Bukan) Fakir Asmara for literature teaching materials in high school seen based on the content of social values. The approach in this research is the pragmatic approach. The research method used is the qualitative descriptive method. The research instrument used is a data card. The data collection techniques used are heuristic reading techniques and note-taking techniques. The data analysis technique in this research uses hermeneutic reading. The results of this study show that there are 178 data containing social values in the Kami (Bukan) novel series; each novel contains 54 data in the KBSK novel, 49 data in the KBJB novel, 28 data in the KBGB novel, and 47 data in the KBFA novel. The social values include 15 data on the value of devotion, 10 data on the value of helping, 10 data on the value of kinship, 3 data on the value of loyalty, 21 data on the value of caring, 3 data on the value of belonging, 4 data on the value of discipline, 13 data on the value of empathy, 4 data on the value of justice, 3 data on the value of tolerance, 9 data on the value of cooperation, 2 data on the value of democracy, 10 data on material values, 6 data on vital values, 22 data on spiritual values, 20 data on the value of the relationship between humans and fellow humans, 4 data on the value of the relationship between humans and nature, and 19 data on the value of the relationship between humans and themselves. The four novels are based on the criteria for the feasibility of teaching materials, which include aspects of language, psychology, cultural background, aesthetics, pedagogy, and suitability for learning objectives. Based on the study results, the novel series Kami (Bukan) by J.S. Khairen can be utilized as literature teaching materials in high school.

Abstract

The author focuses on the problem of tropical cyclone Seroja which is known to have hit Rote Ndao Regency for the first time and how to deal with it if the disaster occurs again, so good management is needed. The purpose of this research is to find out how BPBD manages activities in dealing with the Seroja tropical cyclone disaster if it occurs again. This research uses qualitative methods with data collection techniques used through observation, interviews and documentation. In accordance with the type of research above, the authors used an interactive model from Miles, Huberman and Saldana (2019) to analyze the research data with 3 steps, namely data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing/verification.The findings obtained by the author in this study are that the management by BPBD in the Seroja tropical cyclone disaster is quite good, however, it still has constraints on funding and manpower which are still lacking. Disaster management in dealing with the Seroja tropical cyclone in Rote Ndao Regency is classified as good, this is because there is good coordination between BPBD and related regional apparatus in overcoming disasters in pre-disaster activities. in order to improve disaster resilient areas, it is advisable to optimize the use of local communities to be ready and alert in the face of disasters.

Abstract

This study examines the values of character education in short stories on Detik.com and their suitability as teaching materials, motivated by changes in the attitudes of teenagers who do not prioritize manners and tend to behave individually. Using a qualitative descriptive method with a pragmatic approach, this study analyzed 23 short stories. This study aims to (1) Describe the values of character education in short stories on Detik.com, (2) Describe the suitability of short stories on Detik.com as teaching materials seen from the aspect of character education values. Data were collected through observation, reading, and notes, with analysis using literature review techniques. The results show that the short stories contain character education values including religious, national, independent, mutual cooperation, integrity, honest, hard work, creative, tolerant, curiosity. The values of independence were found (15 short stories), integrity (12 short stories), religious (5 short stories), nationalism (2 short stories), mutual cooperation (2 short stories), honest (12 short stories), hard work (19 short stories), creative (17 short stories), tolerant (11 short stories), curiosity (15 short stories). Then, from the aspect of suitability as teaching materials in high school, there are 15 short stories on Detik.Com that are suitable as teaching materials seen from the aspect of character education values and there are 8 short stories on Detik.Com that are not suitable as teaching materials seen from the aspect of character education values. This study has implications for the selection of short story-based teaching materials that contain character education values, and are useful for educators in choosing learning resources and for other researchers as a reference for similar studies.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to empower the Galansia Business Group in Sait Buttu Saribu Village, Pematang Sidamanik District, Simalungun Regency, which is engaged in the processing of agricultural products and household products. The main problems faced by the partners include limited production capacity, inconsistent product quality, simple business management, and traditional marketing methods. To overcome these problems, the community service team applied a participatory approach by providing appropriate technology, business management assistance, and digital marketing training. The results of the activities showed a significant increase in production capacity, time efficiency, and product quality consistency thanks to the use of onion slicing machines and liquid soap mixing machines. In terms of marketing, the partners successfully utilized social media as a means of promotion and distribution, and improved product packaging to make it more attractive and professional. In terms of management, the partners were able to implement simple digital-based financial records and were facilitated in handling business legality. The impact achieved was an increase in members' income of more than 50% and the growth of entrepreneurial spirit among the village's elderly. This program has proven to be effective in supporting business independence and can be used as a model for community-based MSME empowerment in the digital era.
