Abstract

Environmental management education is a strategy or concept that can be understood by the community personally to protect the environment, take precautions, improve the quality of the environment and be careful of threats to human health and the environment. The Recapitulation of the Malang City Control and Operations Center (Pusdalops PB) in 2019 noted that Bareng and Bandungrejosari sub-districts were included in densely populated areas, thereby reducing the capacity of absorptive capacity which resulted in land movement and increased flooding during the rainy season. The problem studied is how the group decision process carried out by the people of Kelurahan Bandungrejosari and Kelurahan Bareng through kelurahan tangguh as a forum for environmental management education. Cox (2010) sees environmental communication as a more holistic view of pragmatic and constitutive ways to understand the environment and human relations with the natural world. The establishment of resilient kelurahan can also be called group communication which is a gathering place for members to achieve common goals and decision making. The aim is to care for the environment and recognize the potential for disasters in the residential areas of the community (Kelurahan Bandungrejosari and Kelurahan Bareng) to ensure a sustainable life. In kelurahan tangguh each group member can interact with each other both face to face and using certain media / communication tools. In addition there are patterns among group members and continue to grow unnoticed, these patterns are generated through a set of rules and resources owned by group members (Gouran, 2016). Marshall Scott Poole in adaptive structuration theory explains that group decision making is a process in which group members try to create unity and final decisions so as to reach consensus. Poole divides into three dimensions, namely interpretation, morality and strength.

Abstract

It has been 18 years since the enactment of Law of The Republic of Indonesia Number 32 of 2002 on Broadcasting in Indonesia. During that time, Sistem Siaran Jaringan or commonly known as SSJ became the national broadcasting system. One of the elements in SSJ that differentiates it from the previous broadcasting system is the obligation for private broadcasters in Indonesia to broadcast local programs as much as 10% of their total broadcast hours. The hopes of Law of The Republic of Indonesia Number 32 of 2002 on Broadcasting, diversity of content and diversity of ownership, are often echoed in research related to broadcasting activities as a "revolution" from the previous broadcasting law which had the impression of being centralized from Jakarta. How are things now? Has this objective been implemented properly by private broadcaster in its broadcasting activities in Malang City?.

Abstract

Abstract

The large-scale social restrictions during the COVID-19 pandemic have hampered the communication process for millennial hydroponic farmers in Situbondo. The farmers could not have their regular offline meetings. As such, they started to switch to the Whatsapp messaging application to communicate. However, the switch was done without prior need analysis, so there was no guarantee of whether the application could meet their need to communicate. This study aimed to analyze the interpersonal communication network, WA media gratification, and the relationship between the two. The communication network method was used in this study by interviewing 108 respondents through a nominalist approach and positional strategy, small group sampling followed by intact sampling. Data were analyzed using the Communication Network Analysis program UCINET Version 6.0, descriptive analysis, and analysis of variable relationships using the SPSS Version 21. The results showed that the whole network consisted of actors from various professions and backgrounds from Situbondo and outside Situbondo. The communication network structure formed a wheel with the dominance centrality degree, closeness, betweenness, and eigenvector actors by three hydroponic farmers with codes 41, 47, and 105. The level of WA media gratification, included the use and satisfaction obtained by hydroponic farmers, was very high on information, socialization, and social support. The relationship between interpersonal communication networks and WA media gratification showed a significant and very significant relationship for socialization and social support.

Abstract

Exploring the implicit anti-colonial message in Serat Centhini is an important and relevant effort. This is to investigate the extent of resistance to foreign influence and open views on how local literature and culture can be a strong tool in resisting and responding to socio-political changes facing society. The aim of this research is to determine the implicit anti-colonial message in the Serat Centhini war theme. This research adopts an interpretive approach using Gadamer's hermeneutical circle. Documentation techniques are applied for data collection. The analysis carried out includes narrative and phenomenological analysis. The research results show that Serat Centhini reflects the spirit of resistance and courage of the Javanese people in facing colonial domination. The author, who is strongly suspected to be Pakubuwana V, presents a postcolonial message that wants to restore the great dignity of Islamic Mataram in the face of Dutch and British colonialism. Not only through Serat Centhini, but also other works, such as the Rajamala Ship, became an astonishing tool of resistance against the invaders. Thus, Serat Centhini is not only a monumental literary work, but also a silent witness to the struggle and spirit of resistance of the Javanese people against colonial domination in the 19th century.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The paper aims to offer ideas on the use of the Excellent Plus Model to strengthen government public relations functions in the new media era. This model contributes to developing the practice of Government Public Relations so that it can carry out its function as the person in charge of the institution's communication system in supporting public services in the new media era. This model was developed through an effort to review the literature, which found that there are still gaps and unsynchronized between scientific perspectives, regulations, and public relations applications that raise issues of structure, role, purpose, and ethics. The Excellence Plus model offers a solution because it combines the universal dimensions of public relations practice and the local character of community communication. This model has the advantage of being workable because it is derived from the dominant theory in Public Relations and is universal in various types of organizations, with a way of application that adapts to the unique character of the organization. The challenge in applying this model is the great difficulty in changing perceptions about the PR function, synchronizing various government regulations, institutional restructuring related to nomenclature, and preparing human resources.
