Abstract

The paper was intended to measure the website of Agrivita Journalin the implementation of dialogic communication features. Thesecommunicative features indicate the management capability in thedigital-based scientific journal process. The content analysis wasemployed, utilizing 31 dialogic communication features that five codersevaluated as the assessment instrument. The Intraclass CorrelationCoefficient (ICC) approach was used to measure inter-rater reliability,and a composite index was used to assess the implementation strengthof each feature. The results showed that the ICC calculation based on thetwo-way random effects model and absolute agreement was consideredreliable. ICC values of features such as the layout of the Agrivitawebsite, the publisher profile page, and visitor statistics were scored1.00, indicating that the respective features perform an exceptional andconsistent execution in facilitating effective bidirectional communication.Meanwhile, minimal ratings resulted from features like the FAQ page,referring to the lack of information transparency and participation fromwebsite users. This study also indicated that improving interactive andinformative elements on the website is substantial to induce higherparticipation from the scientific users. Moreover, the study also pointedout that the evaluation conducted by journal management shouldinclude principles of dialogic communication as a strategic referenceto enhance governance quality and achieve international indexing.

Abstract

The Covid-19 outbreak has made everything change routine, including in terms of education. In the past, learning in universities was carried out face-to-face, but now learning must be carried out online. The purpose of this study was to find out how much effective online learning is during the covid 19 pandemic for Business Administration students at the STIA Indragiri college. This study uses a descriptive qualitative model. Respondents from this study amounted to 26 students. The results of this study indicate that students want face-to-face learning, while some students want online learning, so it can be concluded that continuous online learning during this pandemic is very ineffective.

Abstract

Data statistik yang cukup signifikan tersebut memunculkan asumsi bahwa penggemar K-Pop sangat aktif dalam menggunakan platform TikTok. Dengan segala kecanggihan fitur-fitur kemudahan penggunaan yang ditawarkan oleh TikTok, terdapat indikasi bahwa platform tersebut mampu memenuhi kebutuhan penggemar K-Pop. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis regresi berganda untuk mengetahui prediktor mana yang paling mempengaruhi perilaku keterlibatan TikTok. Data menunjukkan peningkatan trend K-Pop di TikTok. Namun perilaku keterlibatan seperti apa yang terjadi dalam penggunaan tersebut masih belum sepenuhnya dipahami. Menggunakan kerangka kerja uses and gratification, penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perilaku keterlibatan TikTok meliputi kontribusi, peningkatan, dan kreasi yang dipengaruhi oleh kepuasan yang dicari berdasarkan bawaan individu dan teknologi, narsisme, dan ciri-ciri kepribadian. Data dikumpulkan dari responden yang merupakan penggemar grup NCT (N = 384). Hasil menunjukkan bahwa penggemar K-Pop yang dimotivasi oleh fashion dan hiburan, serta yang memiliki kepribadian sombong cenderung terlibat dalam semua perilaku. Sementara penggemar dengan kepribadian ekxtrovert, teliti, dan memiliki keterbukaan terhadap pengalaman lebih terlibat dalam perilaku kontribusi dan kreasi.

Abstract

Using the theoretical framework of the elaboration likelihood model, this study attempts to analyze the level of difference in effectiveness between celebrity and influencer endorsement in social media advertising to influence consumer purchase intention. This study highlights the phenomenon of Pantene Indonesia's social media advertising, which is endorsed by Maudy Ayunda as a celebrity endorsement and Keanu Angelo as an influencer endorsement, by comparing these two categories of endorsers. This study uses a positivist paradigm, a quantitative approach, and a survey to collect data. Questionnaires were distributed online to 400 respondents for a month in December 2023. The study used a non-parametric test because the data did not meet the normality assumption. Comparative hypotheses were tested using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test with the assistance of SPSS 25. The study results indicate a significant difference between the use of influencer and celebrity endorsements in social media advertising to drive consumer purchase intention. This is demonstrated through the significance values of all variables: the quality of arguments (X1), source credibility (X2), attractiveness (X3), and purchase intention (Y), which are less than 0.005. Furthermore, the study reveals that celebrity endorsements have a higher effectiveness level than influencer endorsements. The comparative mean scores for all variables show that the average for celebrity endorsement is 37.85 compared to influencer endorsement at 36.29, which is proof of this. Through the most important route of the elaboration likelihood model that is, the quality of the endorser's arguments—consumers evaluate social media advertising messages, resulting in more persistent increases in attitudes such purchase intention.

Abstract

This research recommends meta-research as one of propitious research methods in mainstreaming the alternative fields amidst Indonesia’s communication academia. Our thesis came from the scrutiny of Komunitas Pengkaji Komunikasi (KPK) intellectual activism. It questioned and intervened the lacking alternative fields within Indonesia’s communication scholarships. We analyzed 48 documents from varying of KPK’s research publications related to the epistemological cues for knowing the verstehen worldview of KPK’s intellectual craftsmen. Harnessing Miles, Huberman & Saldana’s interactive analysis method, our findings reiterated on how KPK alternative fields development had embraced unorthodox research outputs. KPK also had closely enquired an inclusive interparty collaboration. KPK also enforced the research and advocacy endeavours. Yet reflecting from 48 document findings, we expected for more rigorous literature studies of the extended field of interests. We end by calling for larger Indonesian communication scholars to enforce field diversity against the saturated fields, likened to what KPK has endured insofar.

Abstract

Pendekatan Discursive News Values Analysis (DNVA) digunakan untuk memahami dan menganalisis nilai-nilai berita dalam media massa, fokusnya pada bagaimana nilai-nilai tercermin dalam penyajian berita. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis nilai-nilai berita yang dibangun dalam liputan perlindungan data pribadi di media online Indonesia, khususnya Detik.com dan Kompas.com. Metode kualitatif digunakan dengan mengumpulkan dan menganalisis artikel berita dari kedua portal dalam rentang waktu tertentu. Hasil analisis menunjukkan dominasi nilai Eliteness dalam kedua media, dengan Detik.com cenderung lebih menonjolkan nilai Negativity, sedangkan Kompas.com lebih sering menggunakan nilai Positivity. Superlativeness juga digunakan dengan frekuensi yang berbeda antara keduanya. Temuan ini mengindikasikan perbedaan dalam pendekatan editorial dan ideologi kedua media tersebut dalam menyajikan berita.

Abstract

Technological advancements have impacted education, influencing student behavior across different eras—1990s, 2000s, and today. This survey-based research uses conventional sampling techniques and supports the theory of technological determinism, showing how communication technology affects behavior, thought patterns, and social interactions. Face-to-face communication has largely been replaced by online interactions. The study finds that chatting remains a common activity while waiting for lecturers, and highlights a decline in reading habits. Instead, frequent use of mobile phone has become prevalent. The research underscores how technology reshapes both learning environments and student habits.

Abstract

Penyebaran covid-19 menyebabkan krisis global yang mengancam berbagai aspek, tidak terlepas sistem pendidikan. Perubahan perilaku mencari informasi ilmiah oleh dosen dan mahasiswa terkait pembelajaran menjadi referensi online. Oleh karena itu, tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui apakah situs perpustakaan universitas menjadi sumber utama yang dipilih oleh dosen dan mahasiswa dalam mencari informasi ilmiah sebelum dan selama pandemi, seberapa puaskah dosen dan mahasiswa dalam menggunakan informasi yang ditawarkan melalui website perpustakaan universitas dan bagaimana cara dosen dan mahasiswa berbagi informasi yang diperoleh dari website. Penelitian dilakukan dengan survei online menggunakan kuesioner dengan pemilihan responden melalui convenience sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan komunikasi melalui online memegang peran vital dalam proses pembelajaran. Website menjadi sumber utama pencarian informasi ilmiah karena sebagai platform internet mampu mengadopsi jenis komunikasi massa dan komunikasi personal. Kemampuan adopsi ini yang menjadi faktor kemudahan bagi pengguna dalam keterbatasan interaksi sosial akibat pandemi. Penelitian memiliki keterbatasan dalam hal generalisasi yang tidak seimbang karena jumlah responden yang berbeda jauh. Selain itu, untuk penelitian lebih lanjut di waktu yang akan dating, perlu dilakukan penelitian uji korelasional atau uji pengaruh pada data-data yang telah ditemukan. Penelitian kualitatif juga dapat dilakukan untuk memverivikasi motif-motif para informan.

Abstract

Malang Regency, particularly its southern region, possesses significant coastal beauty. One prominent example is Purwodadi Village in Tirtoyudo District, recognized as the Bowele Tourism Village, encompassing Bolu-bolu, Wedi Awu, and Lenggoksono beaches. These coastal areas boast pristine natural landscapes, waves suitable for surfing, and rich marine biodiversity, making them premier tourist attractions.A competent digital creative team is essential to foster sustainable tourism development and attract more visitors. This team, collaborating with potential actors, is expected to enhance branding and promotional efforts while producing engaging digital content to increase Bowele's appeal and accessibility.Through the collaboration of village authorities, tourism awareness groups (Pokdarwis), and other key stakeholders, forming a digital creative team is anticipated to optimize the development of Bowele Tourism Village, ultimately providing economic benefits to the local community.

Abstract

Social media has become one of the most dominant communication tools, especially among academics. WhatsApp, as one of the most widely used instant messaging platforms, has become an essential means for lecturers and students to interact academically. This paper presents the results of a study aimed at exploring the attitudes and behaviors of students and lecturers in communicating through WhatsApp groups. This study employed a quantitative descriptive method, with a questionnaire instrument distributed online to lecturers and students of the German Literature Department. There were 199 respondents who were willing to fill out the questionnaire. Findings reveal that the types of messages frequently shared in the group are questions about course materials and assignments. A majority of students demonstrate openness and honesty in admitting mistakes, maintain impartiality during non-conducive communication situations, and exhibit high vigilance toward prize offer messages from unknown sources by blocking or rejecting them. However, only a small proportion of users consistently respond to messages sent by other group members in academic WhatsApp groups. There is a notable tendency to avoid direct confrontation to preserve social harmony, which presents an ethical dilemma between openness and maintaining interpersonal relationships.
