Abstract

This study investigates how hijabi Muslim women’s engagement with queer manhwa is constructed, contested, and negotiated within contemporary social media discourse. The research examines public conversations across platform to explore how digital publics interpret the convergence of Islamic piety and participation in queer fandom cultures. Existing studies digital fandom and media consumption largely center on Western, secular audiences, leaving limitd attention to how religious identitites shape interpretive practices in non-Western contexts. Research on Muslim womenin digital spaces often emphasizes piety, modesty, or representation, but rarely examines their engagement with taboo or queer media as a site of moral negotiation. Consequently, there is a gap in understanding how hijabi women actively reconcile faith, affect, and fandom through everyday digital practices, particularly in the context of queer manhwa consumption. Through Moustakas’ lense of phenomenology that emphasized each individual’s experience, findings reveal a polarized discursive landscape in which hijabi readers are simultaneously policed for violating moral norms and defended as autonomous media consumers capable of complex interpretation. These debates illuminate how social media functions as a moral arena where notions of modesty, desire, cultural authenticity, and religious identity are actively negotiated. Rather than framing hijabi women’s engagement with queer manhwa as a contradiction, the discourses reveal dynamic processes of identity negotiation, boundary management, and affective participation shaped by both religious frameworks and digital affordances. This study contributes to broader discussions on gender, faith, digital fandom, and the changing face of Muslim womanhood in the era of globalized popular culture.

Abstract

Objective: Relationship management plays a critical role in corporate banking, particularly in maintaining long-term engagement with medium-sized businesses and corporate clients. However, many financial institutions face challenges sustaining these relationships due to the lack of a systematic, client-centered approach. This study proposes a Client-Centered Stakeholder Relationship Management (SRM) Model to improve client engagement through a four-phase framework: Engage and Attract Potential Clients, Insight-Driven Client Engagement, Relationship Strengthening and Service Delivery, and Value Co-Creation and Retention. Design/Methods/Approach: This study employs a qualitative methodology, drawing on insights from 16 Relationship Managers (RMs) at Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI), classified into junior and senior levels based on experience. Findings: Effective communication, trust-building, and service satisfaction function as core relational mechanisms that influence client retention. Specifically, junior RMs rely more on structured systems such as CRM tools, while senior RMs demonstrate adaptive, experience-based strategies that enable more tailored client engagement. The findings further show that SRM effectiveness depends on integrating analytical tools, relational competence, and organizational support systems, particularly in managing corporate clients with complex financial needs. Originality/Value: While the model is derived from a single institutional context, it offers transferable insights for banking institutions with similar organizational structures and market conditions. Practical/Policy implication: Practically, this study recommends developing hybrid training programs that combine data-driven analysis and relational skills, implementing structured mentoring between junior and senior RMs, and integrating continuous client feedback into engagement strategies. These findings contribute to operationalizing SRM in corporate banking by linking stakeholder theory with frontline relational practices.   Keywords:  Client engagement; client retention; corporate banking; relational competence; stakeholder relationship management JEL Classification:             G21; M31; L14

Abstract

Despite the universal nature of family caregiving and its profound impact on family communication patterns and psychological well-being, this field remains fragmented across disciplines with limited theoretical integration and geographic disparities. This study addresses this gap by providing comprehensive landscape mapping of family communication and caregiving as an integrated field, rather than examining isolated contexts. This quantitative bibliometric analysis examines 421 Scopus-indexed articles (2016–2025) using keyword co-occurrence mapping to identify research trends in family caregiving communication by using VOSviewer software (threshold of 5 keywords). As the result, 106 keywords, 2.460 links, and 7.406 total link strength are categorized into six thematic clusters: (1) Child and Adolescent Development in Family Contexts, (2) Interpersonal Dynamics & Decision Making, (3) Social Support & Palliative Contexts, (4) Professional-Patient Interaction & Health Literacy, (5) Geriatric Caregiving & Illness Narratives, and (6) Digital Health, Migration & Crisis. The United States dominates research output (51.8%, n=218), with most prolific authors including Barkan, S.E. (n=3), Cooper, R.A. (n=3), and Goldsmith, J.V. (n=3). Meanwhile, 81% of publications originate from English-speaking countries, leaving substantial Global South populations underrepresented. While publication volume increased by 204% over the decade, with 54% (228 articles) published after 2022, analysis reveals structural asymmetries. Dementia research comprises 24% of occurrences, overshadowing emerging domains like transnational caregiving that demonstrate high citation impact. Findings are interpreted through Family Systems Theory, Relational Dialectic Theory, and Communication Privacy Management. This map identifies a critical geographic-intellectual divide and argues for a shift toward locally-grounded, longitudinal research, serving as a strategic guide for scholars and policymakers to bridge fragmented research communities and prioritize underserved caregiving settings.

Abstract

Online gambling advertisements have become increasingly prevalent across Indonesian social media platforms, although gambling is legally prohibited in Indonesia. These advertisements employ covert advertising strategies by masquerading as online gambling through familiar food and beverage imagery. Multimodal elements are utilized as a persuasive strategy to shape and normalize gambling practices. This study critically examines how multimodal elements are constructed in covert advertisements format and how these constructions contribute to the normalization of online gambling practices within Indonesian digital culture. The study demonstrates how multimodal elements operate as persuasive strategies in covert online gambling advertisements. Drawing upon Multimodal Critical Discourse Analysis (MCDA), the study analyzes three advertisements collected from the Meta Ads Library in 2025 that masquerade as Mie Sedaap (instant noodles), Potabee (snacks), and Sprite (soft drinks). The findings reveal two dominant normalization discourses. First, gambling is normalized as a familiar and risk-free consumption practice through symbolic associations with familiar food and beverage imagery. This process reflects a form of symbolic domestication, in which gambling is gradually relocated from a stigmatized and illegal activity into an ordinary and culturally familiar consumption practice. Second, gambling is normalized as an enjoyable and rewarding activity through promotional language emphasizing guaranteed winning and high financial profits, ultimately fostering an instant success fantasy. These findings contribute to critical discussions on covert advertising and online gambling normalization in Indonesia.

Abstract

Abstract. This study examines the multiplatform transformation of PT Tempo Inti Media Tbk as an Indonesian legacy media organization responding to digital disruption and the decline of print journalism. Background: The research is grounded in Dynamic Capabilities Theory, which explains how organizations sense opportunities, seize strategic directions, and transform internal structures, and Media Ecology Theory, which positions media change as an ecological shift affecting newsroom practices and audience behavior. These theories guide the study's primary objective: to analyze Tempo's adaptive strategies across technological, editorial, and business dimensions. Methods: This qualitative case study employs in-depth interviews with editors and digital managers, documentation of internal reports and platform analytics, and observational analysis of the integrated newsroom workflow. The primary outcomes measured include Tempo's platform integration, content production processes, and the implementation of communication strategies across digital channels. Results and Discussion: The findings show that Tempo undergoes three phases of transformation digitization, digitalization, and digital transformation supported by cross-platform content distribution, data-driven editorial decisions, and the restructuring of the newsroom into an integrated production system. Previous research on legacy media digital transformation aligns with these findings, particularly regarding the role of organizational agility and technological adoption. The theoretical connection reveals that Dynamic Capabilities shape Tempo's strategic decisions, while Media Ecology explains the broader communication shifts influencing platform adaptation. Conclusion: Tempo's transformation demonstrates how legacy media can develop strategic capabilities and communication practices to remain relevant and sustainable within a rapidly evolving digital ecosystem.   Keywords: communications theory; digital journalism; legacy media; media ecology; multiplatform transformation

Abstract

This study provides an exploratory overview of patterns of technological adaptation as a fundamental factor contributing to the intergenerational digital divide between Generation Z and Millennials at PT Pesta Pora Abadi. Unlike previous literature, which often emphasizes access to infrastructure or basic technical skills, this study argues that the root of the digital divide lies in differences in how individuals internalize and operationalize new technologies in the workplace. Using a descriptive qualitative design, data were collected through in-depth interviews and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs). Thematic analysis identified five distinct adaptation patterns: intuitive-agile adaptation, structured-procedural adaptation, learning speed disparities, resistance to specific platforms, and the contradiction between integrity-based validation and efficiency. The findings reveal that these differing patterns create systemic noise in corporate communication, regardless of the individual’s level of technical proficiency. Practically, this study recommends that organizations implement reverse mentoring and align the digital growth mindset with corporate values (I-ACT) to bridge this gap.
