Abstract

Fruit plants are commodities that can improve people's lives in the long term. One of the problemsin the cultivation of fruit trees is the provision of quality seedlings. Based on these considerations, community service has been carried out under the title "Empowerment of the Cikuya villagecommunity, Serang Regency, through improving the quality of fruit plant seedlings with the Minigrafting method". The Seedlings quality can be obtained through grafting techniques, but theobstacle is the length of time to get the rootstock ready for grafting. The alternative is a minigrafting. Mini grafting technique that is trained for participants is one of the reproductivetechnologies to produce quality seedlings through early grafting techniques. This communityservice program has been running successfully and has contributed 1) giving new insights to theCikuya village farmers group 2) giving participants insights on the basic theory of mini grafting 3)participants can independently supply fruit plant seedlings 4). The Stages of ImplementationInclude 1) Mini Grafting Practices 2) Maintenance of Mini Grafting

Abstract

Abstract

Climate change is one of the biggest challenges and threats to humanity today whose impact has very high dynamics. The high population density, population number, and population activity cause physical changes that affect the microclimate. Microclimate change can reduce people's thermal comfort/temperature humidity index (THI). The impact felt by the community is in the form of discomfort in outdoor activities, health risks such as heat stress, impact on agriculture and natural resource conservation, and animal health on farms to impact emergency response in disaster situations. Moreover, the summer of 2023, a record-breaking summer in 2023, continues the long-term warming trend, indicating the need for a study on the state of THI. This study aims to analyze THI trends and map the distribution of THI in South Sulawesi Province in 2013-2023. The method used in this study is a quantitative-descriptive method through a remote sensing approach using Google Earth Engine (GEE). The Temperature Humidity Index (THI) of South Sulawesi Province in the 2013-2023 time bracket with a cold category with a THI value of 21 °C has an area of 994384.62 hectares, the comfortable category with a THI value of 21°C – 24°C has an area of 1190393.32 hectares, the fairly comfortable category with a THI value of 24 °C – 26°C has an area of 1810662.30 hectares and the uncomfortable category with a THI value of 26°C has an area of 532780.13 hectares.

Abstract

Abstract

Fertilizers produced from a mixture of materials that are easily decomposed, easily improve the physical, chemical and biological properties of the soil because they contain nutrients as an effort to increase plant growth are known as organic liquid fertilizers. The purpose of this study was to determine the potential of organic liquid fertilizer derived from the waste of butterfly pea kombucha fermentation combined with EM4 on the growth of celery plants. The research design includes T1, namely without treatment. T2 is the waste of butterfly pea flower kombucha fermentation added with 1 mL/L of EM4. T3 is the waste of butterfly pea flower kombucha fermentation added with 3 mL/L of EM4. T4 is the waste of butterfly pea flower kombucha fermentation added with 5 mL/L of EM4. The parameters of this study include plant height and number of leaves. The results of this study proved that kombucha fermented telang flower waste combined with EM4 correlated positively in supporting the growth parameters of celery plants, both plant height and number of celery plant leaves. The conclusion from this research is that the 5 mL/L treatment of 5 mL/L kombucha fermentation waste is the best treatment to support the research parameters, namely growth data on the average plant height and the number of leaves of celery plants.
