Abstract

This research aimed to evaluate the effects of organic material concentrations and soaking durations on the growth of var. Citra water apple (Syzygium aqueum) stem cuttings. The experiment was conducted using a factorial Randomized Block Design with two factors: organic material concentration Z1 (100% coconut water), Z2 (10% aloe vera extract), and Z3 (100% coconut water + 10% aloe vera extract), as well as soaking durations P1 (8 hours), P2 (10 hours), and P3 (12 hours). These factors produced 9 treatment combinations, each repeated 3 times, resulting in 27 experimental units. Observed parameters included sprout emergence time, number of sprouts, sprout height, number of leaves, number of roots, root length, and survival rate. The research indicate that the combination of young coconut water and aloe vera extract (Z3) significantly influenced the number of leaves at 4 Weeks After Planting (WAP), with an average of 11,44 leaves. The soaking duration had a significant effect on sprouting time, with the 8-hour soaking treatment (P1) resulting in the earliest sprouting at an average of 7,16 days. Additionally, the number of shoots at 3, 4, and 5 WAP in the P1 treatment had average heights of 9,94 cm, 10 cm, and 8,33 cm, respectively. The number of leaves at 4 WAP in the P1 treatment averaged 11,55, while the number of roots at the end of the study averaged 10,83 in the P1 treatment. Keywords: Stem cuttings, Var. Abstract

Cabai merupakan komoditas pertanian yang sangat penting dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Permasalah yang sering terjadi pada tanaman cabai di petani adalah adanya serangan hama. Salah satu hama yang sering menyerang tanaman cabai adalah hama kutu daun (Aphis sp.). Kutu daun (Aphis gossypii) merupakan hama utama yang menyerang daun pada tanaman cabai. Penggunaan pestisida nabati merupakan cara untuk menanggulangi masalah kutu daun. Salah satu pestisida nabati yang dapat digunakan adalah pestisida buah maja. Buah maja, (Aegle marmelos) adalah salah satu contoh tanaman yang keberadaannya kurang diperhatikan, padahal buah ini memiliki kandungan saponin dan tannin yang tidak disukai oleh hama tanaman, salah satunya adalah hama kutu daun yang menyerang tanaman cabai. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis efektivitas pemberian ekstrak buah maja dalam pengendalian hama kutu daun, pada tanaman cabai merah varietas taro dan cabai rawit varietas pelita. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen yang menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan 2 faktor, 5 perlakuan dan 3 kali ulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa aplikasi konsentrasi ekstrak buah maja 20% berpengaruh nyata terhadap parameter mortalitas hama pada 9 Hari Setelah Aplikasi (HSA), masing-masing konsentrasi ekstrak buah maja juga berpengaruh nyata terhadap parameter laju kematian hama dan tingkat kerusakan tanaman, namun tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap parameter pengamatan tinggi tanaman dan jumlah daun.

Abstract

Avocado production in Banten Province fluctuates due to suboptimal nutrient provision. This study used local variety YM avocado seedlings from Lebak Banten which were propagated by grafting. This study aims to determine the effect of liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) concentration from several types of banana stems on the growth of grafted avocado seedlings (Persea americana Mill.). This study used a factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) consisting of 4 concentration levels: 0, 150, 300, and 450 ml/l and 3 types of banana stems: nangka banana stems, kepok banana stems, muli banana stems. Based on the results of the study, the administration of LOF with a concentration of 300 ml/l gave the best effect on the parameters of seedling height increase, leaf number increase and leaf greenness index. A concentration of 450 ml/l gave the best effect on the parameters of seedling height increase, stem diameter increase, leaf length increase and leaf width increase. While the type of LOF from nangka banana stems gave the best effect on seedling height increase. There is an interaction between the concentration and type of banana stem on the parameters of the comparison of the length and width of avocado plant leaves.
