Abstract

This study aims to: 1) Describe the students' reading comprehension ability seen from the learning independence in class V MI Muhammadiyah 2 Singkawang. 2) Describe the learning independence of class V students of MI Muhammadiyah 2 Singkawang which is still low. 3) Describe the relationship between learning independence and the reading comprehension ability of class V students of MI Muhammadiyah 2 Singkawang. The type of research used is quantitative with a correlational research design. The population in this study were all class V students of MI. Muhammadiyah 2 Singkawang totaling 42 students. From this population, samples were taken using the total sampling technique, so that the sample used was 42 students. The data collection techniques used in this study were indirect communication techniques and measurement techniques, with questionnaire and test research instruments. The student independence questionnaire consisted of 22 statements and the reading comprehension ability test consisted of 10 multiple choice questions. The data analysis techniques used were percentage and correlation. The data analysis technique used the Pearson product moment correlation formula with a significance level of 5% (0.05). The results of the study showed that 1) the level of student learning independence was classified as high with an average value of 77, 2) the level of student reading comprehension ability was classified as high with an overall average value of 79, 3) there was a significant relationship (correlation) between learning independence and reading comprehension ability. With a correlation coefficient of 0.41 (categorized as moderate) which means that learning independence plays a role in influencing reading comprehension ability with a contribution of 25%. From the results of the research that has been conducted, there is a relationship between learning independence and reading comprehension ability.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze and describe the principles of environmental ethics in the “Buku Cerita Rakyat Singkawang 2019” and describe the implementation of research in Senior High School. This research was conducted on the basis of environmental problems that continue to occur and the existence of folklore that began to fade. The method used in this research is qualitative method with descriptive form. The approach used in this research is literary ecology. Literary ecology in this research is studied through the Sonny Keraf’s principles of environmental ethics. The result of this study show 9 principles of environmental ethic in “Buku Cerita Rakyat Singkawang 2019” with a total of 67 data. The data obtained are 12 principles of respect for nature, 13 principles of responsibility to nature, 10 principles of cosmic solidarity, 5 principles of caring for nature, 4 principles of no harm, 14 principles of living simply and in harmony with nature, 4 principles of justice, 4 principles of democracy, and 4 principles of moral integrity. The implementation of the result of this study is in the form of “Kurikulum Merdeka” teaching module on learning materials related to folklore in grade X Senior High School (SHS), namely on the material of “Hikayat” in Chapter 3: Tracig Values in Stories Across the Eras. The result of this study can be useful as a guide for the community in environmental ethics as well as the preservation of folklore as a culture.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the cultural ecology in Danum novel by Abroorza A. Yusra using Julian Steward's perspective, namely: 1) describing the relationship between the environment and the use of technology and production in Danum novel by Abroorza A. Yusra, 2) describing the behavioural patterns of exploitation of the area related to technology in culture in Danum novel by Abroorza A. Yusra, 3) describing the relationship of the level of influence of the patterns of environmental utilization system on culture in Danum novel by Abroorza A. Yusra and, 4) describing the implementation of research results on literature learning in schools. This type of research is qualitative research with the data collection method using literature and note-taking techniques. The data analysis method used in this research is descriptive analysis technique. The results of the study explain that in the novel Danum: 1) the relationship between the environment and the use of technology in Danum novels is illustrated by the use of traditional technology such as nets, snares (bajang), machetes (iso hajok), spears and canoes in daily activities, 2) behaviour patterns of exploiting the area related to technology in Danum novels by the Dayak Uud Danum community include farming rice and rubber, hunting pigs, deer, other animals, looking for fish in the river, gathering, and looking for agarwood, 3) the influence of behavioural patterns of environmental utilization with other elements or aspects of the culture of the Dayak Uud Danum people in the Danum novel is shown in four aspects, namely the knowledge system, beliefs, arts, and language. 4) Implementation of the research results in the form of teaching modules in Senior High School class XII even semester with Learning Objective (LO) 12.5: Learners are able to read to assess and criticise characterisation and plot in narrative texts, as well as the authenticity of the depiction of society in novel texts.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the researcher’s desire to know the morphological process of the Dry Branch Poetry Anthology by Santoso Wuryandoko, which includes the affixation process, reduplication process, and composition process. The problem in this research is how the affixation process, reduplication process, composition process in the dry twig poetry anthology by Santoso Wuryandoko and its implementation in learning. The aim of this research is to describe the morphological process, namely the affixation process, reduplication process, and composition process in the dry twig poetry anthology by Santoso Wuryandoko, as well as its implementation in Indonesian language learning. This research method is a descriptive method with qualitative form. The analysis teachnique uses listening and note taking techniques. Checking the validity of the data, persistence of observations, triangulation and adequacy of references. The results of research on the Morphological Process in the Dry Branch Poetry Anthology by Santoso Wuryandoko can be concluded: (1) There are three types of affixation, namely prefixes, suffixes, and confixes. (2) there are two types of reduplication, namely complete reduplication and partial reduplication. (3) there are two types of composition or compound words, namely equivalent compound words and unequal compound words.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the signs contained in the film 22 Minutes by Huseein M. Atmojo and Gunawan Raharja. This research also aims to describe the denotation meaning, connotation meaning, mythical meaning as well as the plan to implement the research results in literature learning in Secondary Schools. The method used in this research is qualitative method with descriptive form. The approach used in this research is a semiotic approach. The data source of this research is the movie 22 Minutes by Huseein M. Atmojo and Gunawan Raharja. The data collection technique in this research uses documentary study techniques. This research is analyzed using the theory of Roland Barthes and associated with the semiotic approach, which focuses on scenes related to denotation meaning, connotation meaning and mythical meaning. After analyzing, there are 37 data containing denotation meaning, connotation meaning and mythical meaning, the data obtained are 13 data of denotation meaning, 17 data of connotation meaning, and 7 data of myth. The results of this study are planned to be implemented in the making of teaching modules for the independent curriculum in class XI of Senior High School (SMA), namely on drama material in Chapter 5: Getting to Know Indonesia's Diversity Through Drama Performances. with Learning Objectives: 11.7 Learners summarize the feelings and characteristics of the characters and other instrinsic elements such as the setting of the story, events in the drama performance.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the satire language style in Deddy Corbuzier's YouTube channel in 2023, as well as the implementation of research results in class X Indonesian language lesson plans. The method used in this research is qualitative method with descriptive form. The data source of this research is the subpoena video in Deddy Corbuzier's YouTube channel in 2023, and the data of this research is in the form of speech related to the sarcasm language style in the subpoena video in Deddy Corbuzier's YouTube channel in 2023. The data collection technique in this research uses documentary study techniques. This research is analyzed using Gorys Keraf's theory, which focuses on speech related to irony, cynicism, sarcasm, satire, inuendo, antiphrasis, and paronomasia. The results of this study found 67 data included in the satire language style, the data obtained include irony 5 data, cynicism 21 data, sarcasm 15 data, satire 18 data, inuendo 2 data, antiphrasis no data found, and paronomasia 6 data. The results of this study are planned to be implemented in the teaching module of the independent curriculum on learning materials related to satirical language styles in the YouTube application in class X material for Senior High School (SMA), namely in Chapter 2: Expressing Criticism Through Smiles. Language learning materials in class X SMA Indonesian lessons, contained in the Learning Outcomes (CP) and Learning Flows and Objectives (ATP) which are included in the phase E category. In more detail, namely in the CP Reading and Viewing Elements in phase E with learning objectives: 2.1 Learners are able to listen to aural anecdote text in order to evaluate the ideas and messages conveyed in the monologue text of a single joke critically and reflectively and 2.3 Learners are able to use the language rules used in conveying social criticism.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between reading interest and poetry writing skills among fourth-grade students at SDN 85 Singkawang. This research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational method. The subjects of the study consisted of 20 fourth-grade students. The instruments used were a questionnaire to measure reading interest and a poetry writing test to assess students’ poetry writing skills. The collected data were analyzed using the Pearson Product Moment correlation. The results showed a positive and significant relationship between students’ reading interest and their poetry writing skills. The higher the students’ interest in reading, the better their ability to write poetry. These findings highlight the importance of fostering a reading literacy culture in elementary school settings to support students' creative writing skills.

Abstract

This study ai This study aims to describe Code Switching and Code Mixing of Multiethnic Community Language in Sakok Market, Singkawang. The method used in this study is a descriptive method. The form of this research is a qualitative form. The data sources in this study are the speech of sellers and buyers and the data in this study is code switching. Data collection techniques used in this study are tapping techniques, recording techniques and note-taking techniques. Data analysis techniques are carried out by collecting data, transcribing data, classifying data and then analyzing data. Based on data analysis and discussion, it can be concluded that the form of code switching of multiethnic communities in Sakok Market, Singkawang is 17 data and the factors causing code switching of multiethnic communities in Sakok Market, Singkawang is 4 data. This research can be implemented in class IX with this being applied as teaching materials for learning Indonesian in descriptive texts of the Merdeka curriculum based on learning outcomes (CP) phase D, specifically CP elements of speaking, writing and listening.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the forms of morphological processes of the Indonesian language found in the Instagram social media posts of ISBI Singkawang (2021 edition). The research method used is a descriptive method, and the form of this research is qualitative. The data sources consist of words, phrases, and clauses, which are then analyzed according to the types of morphological processes. The results of this study show the following morphological processes: (1) affixation, with 76 data findings; (2) reduplication, with 5 data findings; and (3) composition (compounding), with 4 data findings. This research can be implemented in Grade VIII as Indonesian language teaching material on the topic of Creating Advertisement Texts, Slogans, and Posters in the Merdeka Curriculum, specifically targeting the learning outcomes in the elements of writing and listening.

Abstract

The benefits of studying history, in addition to remembering the past, are also valuable lessons for future generations. Through history, the younger generation knows the cultural treasures of the nation so that they can preserve them. One of the original arts belonging to West Kalimantan is the traditional theater mendu. This theater was successful at the beginning of its emergence (1876 AD) until the Japanese colonial era. After that it was dim because society was forbidden by Japan to gather and associate. Mendu was bloated again and became the belle of the 80's which was driven by the maestro Sataruddin Ramli (1948 - 2015). However, this particular art of West Kalimantan is now only a memory. This research aims to describe the golden age of West Kalimantan's traditional theater. The method used is descriptive qualitative form with a literature study approach. The results of the study describe (1) the glory period from the beginning of the emergence of the mendu to the Japanese occupation (1876 - 1942), (2) the traditional theater of the mendu became the belle of the community (1980s - 2000s). Factors that cause the mendu golden period include because in the past the world of entertainment was not yet sophisticated and modern, the characteristics of the traditional and simple community, the story that was served favored by the community at that time, the participation of the Regional Government of West Kalimantan, as well as coaching was held for the younger generation.
