Abstract

Kompetensi guru kimia dalam memberdayakan laboratorium untuk  pembelajaran praktikum dapat berdampak langsung pada siswa dalam memperoleh  pengalaman langsung untuk mengamati  perubahan yang terjadi dalam proses kimia. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah memberikan pelatihan  tentang strategi mengembangkan  ketrampilan dasar laboratorium peserta didik  untuk memberdayakan laboratorium secara maksimal. Sasaran kegiatan adalah guru guru kimia yang bergabung dalam MGMP Kimia Lombok Timur. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian adalah ceramah, diskusi dan demonstrasi,  melalui gambar atau vidio yang terkait dengan ketrampilan dasar laboratorium. Kesimpulan dari kegiatan ini adalah: 1) Kegiatan berjalan lancar dan sangat memotivasi peserta. 2) Strategi pengembangan ketrampilan dasar laboratorium dapat dilakukan dengan  menggunakan strategi / metode pembelajaran yang dapat memberikan latihan langsung dan berulang pada siswa seperti demonstrasi atau eksperimen. 3) Adanya peningkatan pemahaman tentang strategi pengembangan ketrampilan dasar laboratorium pada peserta kegiatan dari katagori kurang menjadi katagori sangat baik.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the chemical concepts contained in the process of making coconut oil, then the results of the identification and documentation are compiled into a chemistry magazine for senior high schools. The process of making coconut oil is done by two methods, namely heating/traditional and fermentation. The preparation of a chemical magazine is carried out using the method according to Borg & Gall which is simplified into five stages, namely preliminary studies, planning, initial product development, field implementation tests, and product finalization. There are several chemical concepts related to the process of making coconut oil, namely macromolecules, mixture separation, boiling point elevation, and colloids. Magazine feasibility testing is done by validating and analyzing student responses. The results showed that the magazine developed was very valid with an average value of V on the components of graphics, content feasibility, presentation feasibility, and magazine language respectively 0.92, 0.91, 0.96, and 0.88. The results of the student response analysis show that the developed magazine is very feasible with an average percentage of 90%.

Abstract

Learning difficulties are obstacles that hinder students from achieving optimal academic performance. This study aims to analyze the learning difficulties encountered by Grade XI students in chemistry and to identify the contributing factors. The research employed a descriptive method with a qualitative approach, involving 70 students from MAN 1 Central Lombok as research subjects. Data were collected using questionnaires, interview guides, and students’ test scores. The research instruments were validated by three expert validators, yielding a validity score of 0.88, indicating a high level of validity, and tested for reliability using Cronbach’s Alpha, which confirmed their consistency. Data were analyzed descriptively by calculating the percentage of learning difficulties based on specific indicators or criteria. The findings revealed that students faced major difficulties in calculation-based materials (60%) and theoretical concepts (54.06%). Interviews were conducted to strengthen the data obtained from the questionnaires. The contributing factors were categorized into internal factors, external factors, and learning approaches, with internal factors being the most dominant at 59%. This study is expected to serve as an evaluation material for teachers and schools in designing more effective and context-based learning strategies in chemistry education.

Abstract

This research is a development research or Research and Development (R&D) which aims to produce Student Worksheets (LKPD) that are categorized as minimally feasible and practical regarding the material of buffer solutions. The type of development used is research and development (R&D) which refers to the 4D model. LKPD validation was carried out by two Chemistry Educationlecturers and one Chemistry subject teacher at the high school level, with two main validations, namely material validation and media validation. The validation process uses the Aiken's Index formula. The validation results show that themedia validity index is 0.76, which means that the level of feasibility is classified as feasible, the material validity index is 0.77, which means that the level of feasibility is classified as feasible, which indicates that the LKPD has good validity. After going through the validation process, the LKPD was tested on 36 students to measure its level of practicality. The test results show that the level of practicality of the LKPD reached 79.44%, which means that the level of practicalityis classified as practical. Based on theseresults, this LKPD is declared feasible to be used as a learning medium regarding buffer solutions at the high school level.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan guru kimia SMA di Lombok Timur dalam mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai budaya lokal suku Sasambo (Sasak, Samawa, dan Mbojo) ke dalam praktikum kimia. Panduan praktikum memanfaatkan teknologi digital sehingga disajikan dalam E-Panduan. Kegiatan ini dilatarbelakangi oleh keterbatasan pengetahuan dan kompetensi guru dalam merancang praktikum berbasis budaya lokal dan minimnya panduan praktikum yang menggunakan kearifan lokal sebagai konteks pembelajaran. Adapun tahapan dalam pengabdian ini yaitu, tahapan persiapan (observasi, koordinasi dengan Tim MGMP Kimia Lombok Timur, penyusunan instrumen); tahapan pelaksanaan (sosialisasi, pelatihan, dan pendampingan penyusunan e-panduan praktikum); tahapan evaluasi (pretest dan postest). Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan yang signifikan pada empat aspek utama, yaitu pengetahuan guru mengenai etnokimia Sasambo, pengalaman penerapan etnokimia sasambo, penguasaan teknologi e-panduan praktikum berbasis etnokimia, serta sikap dan minat dalam mengembangkan e-panduan praktikum kimia terintegrasi etnokimia sasambo.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat berupa program pendampingan penulisan skripsi bertujuan untuk membantu mahasiswa meningkatkan kesiapan akademik mahasiswa dalam menghadapi tugas akhir. Mahasiswa yang terlibat dalam program merupakan mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Kimia Universitas Mataram. Mahasiswa yang mengikuti sebanyak 38 orang peserta yang terdiri dari mahasiswa semester IV dan VI dibagi ke dalam 8 kelompok. Pelaksanaan dilakukan selama 10 kali pertemuan yang mencakup pemahaman format penulisan ilmiah, penentuan judul skripsi. Penyusunan latar belakang, rumusan masalah, kajian pustaka, kerangka berpikir, metodelogi penelitian, dan analisis data. Data dikumpulkan berupa angket pretest, postest, dan dokumentasi. Pretetst dilakukan bersamaan dengan pembukaan kelas skripsi dan postest dilakukan setelah pertemuan ke -10. Hasil postest menunjukkan bahwa adanya peningkatan yang siginifikan pada tujuh indikator pengukuran pencapaian. Oleh karena itu, program pendampingan kelas skripsi terbutki efektif dalam meningkakan kesiapan akademik mahasiswa serta mendukung percepatan dan kualitas penyusunan skripsi.

Abstract

Skin problems caused by Staphylococcus aureus infection remain a challenge in healthcare and personal hygiene due to their ability to trigger inflammatory responses through the activation of pro-inflammatory cytokines. The extensive use of synthetic antibacterial agents such as triclosan in body wash products has contributed to bacterial resistance, highlighting the need for safer natural alternatives. Nyamplung seed oil contains bioactive compounds, including calophyllolide, inophyllum B, flavonoids, and triterpenoids, which exhibit antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus. Aloe vera also contains aloin, emodin, saponins, and polysaccharides with antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. This study aimed to evaluate the potential of nyamplung seed oil and aloe vera extracts as active ingredients in body wash formulations to inhibit Staphylococcus aureus growth and alleviate skin inflammation. A laboratory experimental design was employed, in which nyamplung seed oil was extracted using the Soxhlet method, while aloe vera was processed by blending and concentrated through heating. The formulated body wash showed a pH of 9.45, homogeneous liquid consistency, yellow color, and a characteristic aroma of nyamplung oil. Antibacterial testing revealed an inhibition zone diameter of 28 mm against Staphylococcus aureus, indicating strong antibacterial potential.

Abstract

Sampai saat ini, siswa tetap menganggap bahwa kimia adalah pelajaran yang sulit. Sangat perlu untuk mengintegrasikan kimia dengan budaya yang familier dengan siswa yang dapat diterapkan pada pelaksanaan proyek P5. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi sains asli masyarakat Lombok yang relevan dengan materi kimia di SMA. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi sains asli. Fokus penelitian ini adalah pengetahuan sains asli yang ada di masyarakat Lombok dan Sumbawa. Analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis tematik, yaitu data dikategorikan berdasarkan tema-tema tertentu. Terdapat 21 jenis sains asli masyarakat Lombok dan Sumbawa yang telah dikonstruksi menjadi sains ilmiah yang relevan dengan konsep kimia dan dapat dijadikan sebagai sumber praktikum proyek P5 pada Fase F. Sains asli tersebut antara lain: Sie Geles, Tempe, Tahu, Bubur Palopo, Tuak Manis, Cerorot, Jajan Bantal/Tikel, Poteng Ketan, Sayur Ares, Tape Singkong, Pembuatan Gula Aren, Nyirih, Minyak Sumbawa, Bubus Tiwang/apus, Sembeq Tinjot, Perang Topat, Awok-awok pada tradisi begawe, Dile Jojor, Barodak Rapancar, Tenun Umbaq, Pembuatan Gerabah yang berasal dari suku Sasak dan Samawa. Konsep kimia pada Fase F yang relevan sebagai sumber praktikum kimia SMA dengan pengetahuan sains asli adalah stoikiometri, kadar zat, hidrolisis garam, faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi laju reaksi, koloid, ikatan kovalen, gaya van der walls, gaya london, termokimia, reaksi eksoterm, reaksi endoterm, kesetimbangan kimia, asam basa, titrasi asam basa, larutan elektrolit dan nonelektrolit, sifat koligatif larutan, dan senyawa organik. Semua sains asli masyarakat SASAMBO yang telah dikonstruksi menjadi sains ilmiah sangat relevan untuk diterapkan sebagai sumber proyek praktikum P5.
