Abstract

A solar eclipse is an unusual natural occurrence. Muslims used the phenomenon of a solar eclipse as the season for prayer, which was only carried out during a solar eclipse from early in the phenomenon until the end. Although there is no statistically significant difference in estimating a solar eclipse, as the seasons change, a solar eclipse becomes increasingly important. Lots of alternatives can be used as a reference in the determination of a solar eclipse. Among the alternatives commonly used is the calculation of spherical astronomy. Despite its complexity, many people still use it as the foundation for calculations based on solar eclipse Pythagoras as well as the determination of the celestial coordinate system.

Abstract

This article discusses on religious contestation on determination of Islamic Calendar in Urban Muslim society in Indonesia. An Indonesian Islamic calendar discourse is always dominated by Nahdatul Ulama and Muhammadiyah as two largest Islamic NGOs. The choice of individuals from this group to fill the office of Minister of Religious Affairs, the official authority, is a sign of the domination amongst these mass organizations. To analyze the contestation of religious authority, this paper recommends the application of an analytical framework of the Gramsci’s hegemony theory which illustrates the contestation between them. Data were gathered through in-depth interviews with the two organizations' experts in Islamic astronomy, which were then evaluated using a descriptive approach. The finding of this paper reveal that the contestation between Nahdatul Ulama and Muhammadiyah not only in relation to the power, but also strengthening the identity of each group to shows their power on Islamic Calendar discourse in Indonesia.

Abstract

The current development of information technology has increased the need for good and high-quality web systems. One important step to ensure software quality is to conduct testing using the black box testing method. This method focuses on system functions without the need to know the internal components. This study aims to test the functionality of the Dimsum Gemoy website using the black box testing method on several main modules, namely the Login, Register, Send Message, Add Item to Cart, Cart Features, and Order Details modules. The total number of tests conducted was 120 test cases, with the results of 50 test cases being successful and 70 test cases failing. The highest success rate was in the Add Item to Cart module at 66.67%, while the lowest was in the Order module at 25.53%. Overall, the test success rate reached 41.67%. These results indicate that the Dimsum Gemoy website still needs improvement, especially in the Send Message and Order Details modules, to run well and provide a more satisfying user experience.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of Zakat, Infaq, and Alms (ZIS), corruption, and education on income inequality in Indonesia. Utilizing a quantitative approach with time-series data from 2011 to 2022, the research employs the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) framework to analyze both long-term and short-term dynamics. Findings indicate that ZIS and corruption exert a negative and significant impact on income inequality, whereas education shows a positive but insignificant effect. The study concludes that religious philanthropy and institutional integrity are pivotal in narrowing the economic gap. Policy implications suggest that the government should optimize zakat management systems and intensify anti-corruption measures to ensure more equitable income distribution. Additionally, strategic improvements in educational quality are essential to support sustainable and long-term economic equality.

Abstract

This study aims to develop Arabic language test questions based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and the Indonesian National Work Competency Standards (SKKNI), and to present them online via the Learning Management System (LMS). This study is part of an effort to develop an Arabic language evaluation instrument that is more communicative, accountable, and aligned with global and national needs. The instrument development process was carried out using the ADDIE model across the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The test was then administered to 212 students. The evaluation revealed a decline in CEFR level achievement from pre-test to post-test, indicating a more accurate measurement of Arabic language proficiency. Interviews with 57 participants confirmed that the test items were perceived as more challenging and that they reflected real Arabic language use. These findings demonstrate the success of integrating the CEFR and SKKNI to produce a more targeted and high-quality Arabic language evaluation instrument.
