Abstract

Bas kally every culture has rules that apply. To people who embrace the culture, as well as the culture carok in Madura.this culture was originaly to have rules and methods applicabe for ad herents. For exsemple: the ritual, then only about ho nor wemen who can couse carok. But now it began to erode any of the above, it is due to cack of public know ledge Madura againt carok actual ordinanes, carok is bascally a fight thay has been overshad owed by the abuse of dignity of women and the approval of his opponeny. In contrast to carok happens now, with out the consent and with out the above back groud, so that the meaning is in the curren carok certainly been a shit very for from the actual meaning carok.

Abstract

This study has discussed about the existence of traditional transportation in the Solok city in 1970 or it's called bendi transportation. Bendi is a traditional transportation which still existed until 2000 in the middle of more sophisticated transportation in that era. This study has three problems to be discussed, they are (1) Why the bendi transportation still existed in the Solok, West Sumatra? (2) What are the challenges of bendi tansportation as traditional transportation in the Solok, West Sumatra? (3) What are the role of government in it?. This study used city's historical method and theory of history and social science by Wellman and Wortley in a modern sociology by George Ritzer were applied. The results of this study reveals thatbendi isa traditional transportation which still existed in the Solok, it’s describes the challenges of bendi as traditional transportation, and explains how the government plays a role in maintaining and preserving bendi as a traditional transportation asset in Solok, West Sumatra.

Abstract

This research discussed about the dynamics of Muhammadiyah Organization in Denpasar in the Hitorical Prespektive 1998-2018. The formulation of the problems are 1) How the activities of the Muhammadiyah Denpasar Area in religius Ideology 2) How are the views of the Muhammadiyah Denpasar Area towards members who are involved in politic 3) How are the the views of the citizens toward the Muhammadiyah Denpasar Area. In this research use historical methodology is oral history and political history. The analysis uses explanation theory, symbolic interactionalism and multicultural theory. The result is Muhammadiyah activities ini Denpasar in religion and politic. The final research find about Muhammadiyah in Denpasar recently not only enganged in religion but also partisipate in politic.

Abstract

Sai Study Group is a spiritual organization in the form of a study group to study and explore the teachings contained in the Vedic scriptures based on the viewpoint of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. Sai Study Group Organization is a spiritual organization and the largest number of followers in Bali. During its development, the Sai Study Group organization in Bali, especially in Denpasar are many challenges for Sai Study Group organizations because the organization is strayed from tradition and religion of Balinese Hinduism.

Abstract

This research choose the development of banjar Belaluan Sadmerta in Denpasar as its topic. There are two questions asked in this research which are, 1)What are factors behind establishment of banjar Belaluan Sadmerta, and 2) How’s the development of banjar Belaluan Sadmerta in socio-cultural, religion, economy and politic in Denpasar within 1957-2017. This research used social history method by Kuntowijoyo, which is used to find out level of development. This research used Historical Theory by Ida Bagus Sidemen which explained, 1) Historical Explanation, 2) Historical Objectivity, 3)Historical Determinism. The theory used as basis in exploring and reconstructing data in this research. Development as concept, defined the development of banjar Belaluan Sadmerta to be perfect in both abstract and concrete forms. In this way, this research was able to produce conclusions from each research questions which then used as conclusion that the establishment of banjar Belaluan Sadmerta was inseparable from the dominant role of a sekaa or group and important society’s figures in its development. Regional autonomy is also an opportunity for the societies to make banjar Belaluan Sadmerta as a place for societies to carry out daily activities.

Abstract

Bali has unique and distinctive cultural customs that have a societal and cultural character that has been dominantly influenced by Hinduism. One proof of the influence of Hindu culture originating from India was the concept of a kingdom where the king was the ruler in regulating people's lives. Even though in the modern era, Bali has become a part of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, this does not mean that the traditional system that existed before has disappeared but rather that it can become part of the formation of social and cultural capital in the context of the nation-state building in Indonesia. The kingdom of Denpasar, previously called the kingdom of Badung as well was a cultural entity which played an significant role not only in the past, but also still be seen in the modern Bali era. It is not surprising to see that the existence of this kingdom cannot be separated from the understanding of the existence of autonomy, diplomacy and the struggles and its contribution that has been carried out from the past until now. There are some significant questions that will be addresed in this paper firstly: What and how did the kingdom or Puri Denpasar exist in the dynamics of society and culture in Bali in particular and in Indonesia in general? Secondly: how did collective memory develop so that Puri Denpasar had its authority as the diplomacy and struggle carried out to contribute to the nation-state building? Thirdly: what the meaning of kingdom in the modern Bali era particularly in the context of socio and cultural aspects so that these social and cultural values can be maintained regarding its existence from the past until now within the framework of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia? These are some significant questions that will be discussed in this study in an effort to have a better understanding about the role of the kingdom or Puri Denpasar in socio-cultural, economic and political aspects so that Puri Denpasar can maintain its existence until now in the context of nation-state building in the modern Indonesian state.
