Abstract

Coban Rondo is a waterfall located in Pujon, Malang, East Java. Apes and monkeys are animals that are most prevalent along the Coban Rondo. Two species of monkeys that inhabit the area Coban Rondo is a long-tailed Macaques (Macaca fascicularis) and monkey (Presbytis cristata). Long-tailed macaque (Macaca fascicularis) monkeys are native to Southeast Asia but is now scattered in various places in Asia. The research focuses on the study of the behavior of long-tailed macaques Length (Macaca fascicularis) and monkey (Trachypithecus auratus) in Coban Rondo, Malang. The method used is observation and interviews with local people. The results showed that the Long-tailed Macaques (Macaca fascicularis) and monkey (Trachypithecus auratus) in Coban Rondo, Malang has a different behavior covering obtain food, residing, and reproduce. Two types of primates that have different behaviors in the same location, but able to coexist. Keywords: behavior, Coban rondo, Macaca fascicularis, Trachypithecus auratus

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the behavior patterns of female hens and chicks (Gallus gallus-domesticus) in the natural environment. This type of research is descriptive exportative observing patterns of interaction between hens and chicks for 3 days in the morning, afternoon and evening. The study uses ad libitum sampling method. The tools used in the form of cameras and stationery while the materials needed are female hens and 3 chicks. Data was collected by means of observation using observation sheets and documentation tools. Data analysis using descriptive analysis techniques that describe the behavior patterns between the hen with the chick that appears during observation. the results of the study show what the behavior of the mother chickens and their offspring were interacting with. The most common behavior was to look for food, eat and drink, pay attention from the mother to the chicks, and ask for attention from the child to the mother hen. A step that was rarely seen was fighting, avoiding and sleeping.

Abstract

Guppy fish is one type of ornamental fish that has many types. Various body shapes and colors make guppy fish one of the favorite types of ornamental fish to fill the aquarium. The pattern of care and easy breeding makes guppy fish widely cultivated by the community. This study aims to determine the interaction behavior of male and female guppies (Poecilia reticulata) during reproduction. This research was conducted at the practitioner's house, in December 2020. This research used a descriptive exploratory research which was carried out by observing the behavior of male and female guppies directly based on the behavior patterns that occurred. This study used an ad libtum sampling method. The results showed that male guppies have beautiful bodies and male guppies are actively showing off their body beauty all the time by tilting their bodies upwards while wagging their tails.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of collaborative based Guided Discovery in empowering critical thinking skills and social skills of students in High Plant Systematics Course. It was a quasi-experimental study with One Group Pretest-Posttest Design using one class as an experiment (pretest and posttest). The subjects of the study were 26 students of the fourth semester of Department of Biology Education, Universitas Bangun Nusantara Sukoharjo Academic Year 2015/2016. Data collection techniques were done with tests to measure analytical thinking skills and observation to measure social skills. Data analysis of the result of analytical thinking skills was quantitative descriptive using paired sample t-test, while the result of social skill observation was qualitative descriptive. Paired sample t-test resulted in a significant difference of pretest and posttest value of analytical thinking skill. The result of social skill score was nine students with very good category and seventeen students with a good category. The conclusion of the study was that collaborative based Guided Discovery effectively empowers the student’s analytical thinking and social skills.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to observe the behavior of male and female cricket (Gryllus bimaculatus) interactions. The objects of this study were five male crickets and one female cricket that had been isolated for twenty-four hours. This research is an exploratory descriptive study observing all male and female cricket (gryllus bimaculatus) behaviors. The research method used is ad libitum which is observing all visible activities, both social behavior and daily behavior of male and female crickets. Retrieval of data using direct observation, recording sounds and then recorded in the observation sheet, observation notes, and documentation tools. The data that has been collected is then analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques that describe the behaviors that arise during observation. The results showed that the behavior that is often performed by crickets is sounding, eating, climbing, mating and attacking other crickets. Crickets perform sounding behavior to attract the attention of female crickets, show their existence and to defend their territory and food sources. crickets also often climb, to escape from the container because crickets want to live freely. Crickets perform eating behavior to maintain life and will show aggressive behavior when fighting over food and when maintaining their partners. Female crickets will mating if captivated by male crickets.

Dalam uji kelayakan dilakukan validasi pakar termasuk validasi ahli material (skor 87.50%, kategori baik), validasi ahli bahasa / keterbacaan (skor 95,83%, kategori sangat baik), validasi modul ahli (skor 86, 25). %; kategori bagus).
