Abstract

Background: Many elementary school children in Indonesia still do not meet balanced nutrition guidelines, as evidenced by low fruit and vegetables consumption and high consumption of fast food. This can impact their nutritional status and long-term health. Objective: To determine the effect of a balanced nutrition health promotion program on changes in elementary school children's eating patterns. Methods: A quasi-experimental study with a pretest-posttest control group design was conducted on 80 fourth-fifth grade elementary school students in Regency X. The sample was divided into an intervention group (n=40) and a control group (n=40). The intervention consisted of health promotion through interactive lectures, posters, and educational games for four weeks. Data were collected using a Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ). Data were analyzed using paired t- tests and independent t-tests. Results: There was a significant increase in healthy eating patterns in the intervention group after health promotion (p<0.05), particularly in vegetables and fruit consumption and a decrease in fast food consumption. There was no significant change in the control group (p>0.05). Conclusion: The balanced nutrition health promotion program has been positive impact on the eating habits of elementary school children. It is recommended that schools integrate nutrition promotion into the curriculum and extracurricular activities for sustainability.

Abstract

Mental disorders are commonly associated with difficulties in regulating and expressing emotions, which may lead to maladaptive behaviors such as withdrawal, aggressiveness, or excessive anxiety. One of the non-pharmacological interventions that can help patients cope with these difficulties is art therapy, a therapeutic approach that utilizes visual art activities to facilitate the safe and constructive expression of emotions. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of art therapy on emotional expression among patients with mental disorders. A quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group was employed. The sample consisted of 40 patients, divided into an intervention group (n=20) who received art therapy twice a week for 4 weeks, and a control group (n=20) who received routine care only. Emotional expression was measured using a modified Emotional Expression Scale (EES). Data were analyzed using paired t-test and independent t-test. The results showed a significant improvement in emotional expression scores in the intervention group (mean score increased from 45.3 to 72.8; p=0.001), while the control group showed no significant change (46.1 to 48.0; p=0.356). Post-intervention comparisons between groups indicated a statistically significant difference (p=0.004). In conclusion, art therapy is proven to be effective in enhancing emotional expression among patients with mental disorders. This intervention may serve as a simple, enjoyable, and safe strategy in psychiatric rehabilitation programs.

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between unsafe behavior and unsafe conditions for work accidents among nurses in hospitals. Dr. Tadjuddin Chalid Makassar. The research design used in this study was observational using a cross sectional approach. Data analysis used the chi-square test. The population is 205 people and the sample is 136 nurses. The results showed that there was a relationship between unsafe behavior and work accidents (p value = 0.001) and unsafe conditions also had a relationship with work accidents (p value = 0.007). So in conclusion there is a relationship between unsafe behavior and unsafe conditions with the occurrence of work accidents in hospitals. Dr. Tadjuddin Chalid Makassar. Abstract

Triage is a process to determine which patients should receive treatment first based on the severity of the injury or illness. In triage, patients are grouped into 6 categories, blue label, red label, yellow label, green label, white label, and black label. The highest priority is patients with emergency conditions accompanied by disturbances in the airway, breathing, circulation, which are labeled in blue. The second priority is patients with emergency conditions, which are labeled in red. The third priority is given to patients with minimal emergency conditions, which are labeled in yellow. The next priority is cases without emergencies, but if they are not treated immediately they will have a negative impact on the patient, which is labeled in green. The next priority is the white label given to patients whose conditions are not serious, not emergency, and do not require immediate treatment. Last priority is given to patients who died or had serious irreversible injuries who were labeled in black. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the roles and attitudes of emergency room nurses and the implementation of triage based on priority. The research method used is descriptive correlational with cross sectional design. The results showed that the majority of the role of nurses was good with the implementation of triage as many as 25 people (65.8%), the majority of positive attitudes with the implementation of triage as many as 23 people (60.5%) and the majority carried out triage according to SOP as many as 30 people (78.9%) . The results of the study with the chi-square test p-value <0.05. In conclusion, there is a relationship between the role and attitude of the emergency room nurse and the implementation of triage based on priority.

Wound care is one of the important aspects in the world of health that requires special attention. In recent years, there has been an increase in interest in the use of herbal therapy as an alternative in wound care. Herbal therapy is considered to have the potential to speed up the healing process and reduce risks. This study will use a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. The population to be studied is patients who receive herbal therapy in wound care at several hospitals and wound care clinics or ETN Centre located in Makassar City. Samples will be randomly drawn from patients who meet the inclusion criteria, i.e. patients who have undergone herbal therapy for a minimum of two weeks and are willing to participate in the study.  Data was collected through a questionnaire consisting of several parts, including demographics, wound type, and type of herbal therapy used. In addition, the questionnaire also includes instruments to measure psychological and emotional well-being, such as the Depression Anxiety Stress Scale (DASS) and Quality of Life Scale (QOLS. In addition, the questionnaire will also include open-ended questions to explore the patient's emotional experiences during the healing process. Based on the results of the chi-square statistical test, between the perception variable and the Psychological and Emotional Well-being variable, p=0.000 (a=0.05) was obtained. The conclusion of this study is that there is a relationship between the perception of patients who are treated with herbs in wound care and psychological and emotional well-being. It is hoped that the results of this study can contribute to the development of more holistic healthcare practices, where the psychological and emotional aspects of patients are taken more seriously.
