Abstract

Land cover changes can have various negative impacts on watershed (DAS) areas, such as river sedimentation, increased flood-prone points, agricultural land erosion, and sediment accumulation in river channels. According to data from the Watershed and Protected Forest Management Agency (BPDAS-HL) Bone Bolango, the Limboto watershed has been classified as a critical land area, covering approximately 39,203 hectares. This study aims to analyze land cover changes in the Limboto watershed in the years 2015, 2019, and 2024. The method used is the Maximum Likelihood Classification (MLC) algorithm to accurately classify types of land cover. The analysis results indicate significant changes in the Limboto watershed’s land cover over the past decade. These changes include both increases and decreases in areas such as forests, rice fields, and open land, primarily driven by land use conversion activities carried out by the local community.

Abstract

This study maps the groundwater pollution pattern due to seawater intrusion in Olele Village, Bonebolango Regency, Gorontalo. This area has high maritime and ecotourism potential, but increasing tourism activities and population increase the need for clean water and the risk of seawater intrusion. The impact can affect air quality, land productivity, and public health. The study used a qualitative descriptive approach through field surveys, physical measurements of wells, and air quality tests (pH, EC, TDS, salinity), as well as semi-structured interviews. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive statistics, GIS-based spatial mapping, and thematic analysis. The results showed that the dominant TDS value was categorized as "Good" to "Fair" (518–787 ppm), salinity was classified as "Brackish" (518–789 ppm), and Electrical Conductivity showed "Fresh Water" (1041–1581 µS/cm). The air pH is neutral (7.34–7.91). These findings form the basis for sustainable groundwater resource mitigation and conservation efforts in coastal areas.

Abstract

In facing the development of the era in the 21st century, students are required to have special competencies. There are many challenges and problems that must be faced by students in this era. For example, learning materials that are difficult to understand and less in accordance with students' daily lives. The purpose of this study was to determine whether the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) Learning Model can improve students' analytical thinking skills in the material of Atmospheric Dynamics and Its Impact on Class X-D Life at SMA Negeri 6 North Gorontalo. The research method uses the type of classroom action research (PTK), this research model follows the Kemmis and McTaggart research model. The results of the study showed that in Cycle 1, the average student score was 73.75, there was an increase in Cycle II with an average of 84.64. This increase was 10.89 points. The percentage increase was 14.76%. The results of this study indicate that the application of PBL is very effective in improving students' analytical thinking skills.

Abstract

Adobe Flash is a graphic software that was originally developed by Macromedia Corporation, a company that focuses on developing web-based animation applications. This application has great potential in the world of education because of the ease of design, content management, and wide access for various user groups. This study aims to design and develop interactive learning media using Adobe Flash CS6. The method used is research and development (Research and Development) with the ADDIE model approach, which consists of five main stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. With an assessment of material experts of 80%, product experts of 97.89%, and learning experts of 88.57%, the results of the study indicate that the media created has gone through a validation process. With a response rate of 94.93% to the use of interactive media based on Adobe Flash CS6 to present Indonesian and world flora and fauna material, grade XI students of SMA Negeri 1 Lemito who participated in the media trial also showed very positive results. Thus, it can be said that the teaching materials created are considered practical and efficient to use, especially in teaching Basic Geography Knowledge content.

Abstract

In general, fishing communities are considered one of the lower socioeconomic strata." Of course, not all fishermen are considered poor; there are many fishermen who are considered prosperous. This research aims to describe the perceptions of Bajo village fishermen regarding climate change. Research Location: This research will be conducted in Bajo Village, Tilamuta District, Bualemo Regency. Based on the central statistics agency, the population of this study consists of all the fishing community members obtained from BPS, totaling 399. Using the Slovin formula, with the number of fishermen in Bajo village being 399 and a margin of error of 0.05, the required sample size for this study is 199 fishermen in Bajo village, Tilamuta district. The data analysis method uses Data Analysis with the Miles and Huberman Model. The Miles and Huberman Model is applied by categorizing data from in-depth interviews and direct observations in stages to draw a conclusion. The results of this research in Bajo Village show that 75% of fishermen are aware of weather changes and their impact on fishing activities, but 52% do not yet understand the causes. Most of them only check the weather information once a week, and 24% rarely do so. The level of concern is high (90% expressed worry), and all respondents feel the need to change their way of thinking and acting. As many as 71% feel confident they can face climate change, but only 25% feel personally prepared. The adoption of new technology is very low (90% have never tried it). However, 40.5% support environmentally friendly fishing methods. Support from relevant parties is considered sufficient by the majority of fishermen, although some still feel under-supported. Most fishermen have more than 10 years of experience, and 65% believe that experience helps in preparing for weather changes. As many as 89% of fishermen believe that weather conditions are worsening, reflecting concerns about future climate impacts

Abstract

The Limboto-Gorontalo Alluvial Plain is important because it serves as the centre of settlement, development, and economic growth in Gorontalo Regency. This research aims to map the depth of shallow groundwater in Limboto alluvial plain and to know the spatial distribution of shallow groundwater depth in Limboto alluvial plain. The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative method with survey approach to analyse the spatial distribution pattern of shallow water table depth in Limboto Alluvial Plain. The results of groundwater depth mapping in Limboto, West Limboto, and Tabongo sub-districts, with categories of Shallow (0.39 - 2.33 metres), Medium (2.33 - 4.27 metres), and Deep (4.27 - 6.21 metres). As a result, the lowest depth was found in Haya-Haya Village (-0.03 metres) and the Deep category was found in Tabongo Barat Village (17.4 metres). These findings are very important for sustainable water resources management and can serve as a reference for policy makers and communities in planning land use effectively. As such, the results of this study are expected to support better water conservation and management efforts in the Limboto Alluvial Plain

Abstract

Previous studies have highlighted a persistent high prevalence of anemia among adolescent girls in rural areas, often attributed to inadequate nutritional intake and limited access to health interventions, yet few have rigorously evaluated targeted supplementation programs in this context. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of the iron supplementation program (Tablet Tambah Darah/TTD) in increasing hemoglobin levels and reducing anemia prevalence among adolescent girls in the Somba Opu health center area, Gowa. A quasi-experimental design with a one-group pre-posttest approach was employed, involving adolescent girls aged 12–18 years. The intervention consisted of routine iron supplementation and education on healthy dietary and lifestyle practices. The results demonstrated a substantial decrease in anemia prevalence: among junior high school students, anemia rates declined from 48.10% in 2023 to 26.50% in 2024, and among senior high school students, from 41.60% to 26.10% over the same period. These findings indicate that the TTD program significantly contributed to improved hemoglobin levels and reduced anemia rates in the target population. The implications underscore the importance of structured supplementation and health education programs for adolescent girls in rural settings to address nutritional deficiencies and promote overall well-being.
